Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in payroll processing, managing multiple payroll clients across different pay cycles.
- Minimum of 3 years’ management experience overseeing payroll operations for multiple clients or business units.
- Proficient in Pastel Payroll and Payspace systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- In-depth knowledge and practical understanding of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and the Labour Relations Act (LRA) as they apply to payroll processing
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute monthly, fortnightly, and weekly payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees.
- Manage the full payroll administration function, including onboarding of new employees, processing terminations, managing leave, benefits, salary adjustments, advances, deductions, and staff loans.
- Prepare and submit EMP501 annual and interim reconciliations in line with SARS requirements.
- Handle Workmen’s Compensation annual returns, submissions, and related queries.
- Administer and resolve queries relating to UI19, UI2.7, and work schedules in compliance with Department of Labour regulations.
- Supervise the payroll department to ensure efficient workflow, and timely completion of all payroll-related deadlines
