    Supervisor Costing- Central

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Shaft Foreman

    Job Purpose:

    • To coordinate and manage equipment maintenance programmes and budgets on the operation; provide expertise in the maintenance of equipment ensuring plant and equipment is maintained effectively and operated in a safe and reliable condition; through implement maintenance strategies and tactics .

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • NQF 3 or relevant qualification

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Audits Visit sections and equipment locations on the mine and undertake equipment audits and inspections in respect to engineering workmanship, quality and compliance with engineering policies, procedures and standards. Proof and evaluate compliance of the maintenance application to legal and statutory regulations, standards, codes of practice, specifications and standard operating procedures. Attest and direct remediation of deviations to standard technical, maintenance and operating practices. Assess key maintenance functions to ascertain whether they efficiently and effectively support the operations. Determine and recommend improvements to the maintenance processes from the audit findings. Identify control procedures to use to ensure each key risk for equipment type is properly controlled and monitored. Report problems identified and initiate action plans to address the problems. Page 2 of 7 Follow up on reported findings at appropriate intervals and ensure remedial actions have been done or in progress, maintain a tracking database for this purpose. Appraise equipment and associated systems with assurance that they are fit for purpose. Assist in addressing all key elements of asset management strategy using KPIs.     • Standards Enforcement and Quality Assurance Assist in establishing programs to maintain and improve the quality of maintenance and the maintenance systems employed to minimize unplanned downtime on key equipment. Ensure that employees have clear work expectations and plans Direct maintenance personnel to continuously evaluate compliance and strict adherence to the established procedures and policies. Assist in establishing a monitoring system to measure maintenance quality and improvement initiatives. Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function. Ensure compliance to MHSA, OHSA and domestic requirements in all maintenance facilities provided.     Control Room Operator Cycle SF

    Job Purpose:

    • To provide a coordinating service to Management and Employees by serving as a communication link between the underground sections and the surface departments to ensure a productive, safe and healthy work environment with the prime focus being electrical demand control.

    The Appointee should:

    • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent)
    • At least 3 years’ experience as a Control Room Operator within a mining shaft or Plants environment.
    • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
    • Clear security screening record.
    • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Control Room Activities Supervises the Control Room function by checking and analysing reports and takes corrective action when required. Coordinates various ancillary functions with regards to callouts for e.g., breakdowns, medical assistance, stores requirements, communication failure, clocking system malfunction Reacts on various abnormalities within designated areas e.g., electrical demand exceeding supply, fire alarms, dam levels. Where necessary takes corrective action. Trains and develops current and new users on the System and provides follow up support based on experience and acquired knowledge of the system. Control of all plant process flows Monitor, locate and plot plant information Identify and solve problems on all systems Stop and restart of all equipment in his / her area of responsibility Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his/her work.

Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Mining Risk Management Contribute to the management of risk within own field of expertise. Assess Mining risks and incorporate mitigating controls. Tramming Manage the Tramming team and activities and plan Tramming activities and targets. Secondary Blasting Manage Secondary Blasting team and processes. Maintenance Manage underground maintenance activities. Blasting Initiate blasts and authorise re-entry to blasted section after observing the prescribed re-entry period. Removal of Brocken Rock (Cleaning & Sweeping) Plan the location of winches.
