    Handyman (EE)

    Main Purpose:

    • To perform maintenance, repairs, installations and site support services across company facilities and client sites, including workshop-based duties, travel to various operational sites, container conversions woodworking and ensuring environmental compliance and responsible work practices.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical repairs (repair doors, locks, windows, roofing sheets, ceilings and fittings, patch, paint and maintain walls and structural surfaces.
    • Conduct minor welding and fabrication repairs (if competent).
    • Construct and install wooden structures such as shelving, office partitions, cupboards, storage units and workbenches.
    • Repair wooden doors, frames, skirting and roofing supports.
    • Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately according to specifications.
    • Ensure neat finishing and Professional workmanship.
    • Travel to various company and client sites as required and carry out on-site repairs, installation and maintenance.
    • Assist with breakdown support and urgent repair work.
    • Ensure safe transport of tools and materials.
    • Conversion of shipping containers into site offices, storage units, workshops and ablution facilities.
    • Install insulation, ceilings, partitioning, flooring, doors and fit windows, security gates and ventilation systems.
    • Perform structural modifications and reinforcements as required.
    • Install electrical lighting and plug points (within legal compliance).
    • Ensure environmentally responsible disposal of waste materials.
    • Separate scrap material (steel, wood, electrical waste) for recycling and minimise material wastage during projects.
    • Prevent oil spills, chemical contamination and environmental hazards and always maintain clean and safe work areas.
    • Comply with environmental policies and site regulations.
    • Conduct routine inspections of building and infrastructure and identify potential safety and environmental risks.
    • Assist with planned maintenance schedules.
    • Any other job-related duties as required from time to time.

    Competencies/skills:

    • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    • Good planning, problem solving and organising skills.
    • High stress tolerance.
    • Ability to work productively without direct supervision.
    • Detailed orientated.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Grade 12.
    • Qualified Artisan.
    • 3-5 Years’ experience in carpentry and container conversions is advantageous.
    • Must have basic electrical and welding knowledge.
    • Physically fit and able to travel to various sites.
    • Valid driver’s licence.

    Mechanic Diesel and Petrol

    Main Purpose:

    • To ensure that all vehicles, cranes, construction plant and lifting equipment are maintained and in a safe working condition with valid certification where applicable as per Occupational Health and Safety Act.

    Key Performance Areas:

    Planned maintenance

    • Assist in developing a maintenance plan including checklists for each vehicle/crane type in the fleet including other construction plant and equipment.
    • Assist in developing preventative maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles, cranes and construction plant and equipment.
    • Prioritise maintenance activities.
    • Ensure that vehicles and cranes are serviced and maintained according to the schedule and inspection check lists.

    Emergency repairs on vehicles/equipment

    • Assess and prioritise emergency breakdowns.
    • Consult with management, site managers and external clients regarding availability and replacement of vehicles/equipment.

    Compliance and control

    • Control the quality of repair and maintenance activities to ensure that client expectations are met.
    • Conduct regular checks on vehicles/cranes to improve reliability of fleet.
    • Conduct inspections on completion of repair work.
    • Ensure compliance with the Company QMS.

    Administration and cost control

    • Assist Manager with technical assistance and advice.
    • Seek most cost-effective maintenance strategy for all vehicle types in fleet.
    • Control maintenance cost, maintain service and repair records.
    • Do expediting on orders and spares required.

    Safety management

    • Weekly and monthly inspections as required.
    • Attend and contribute to daily toolbox talks.
    • Assist with compiling task risk assessments relevant to the tasks in progress.
    • Assist with written Safe Work Procedures relevant to the occupation and critical tasks under direct control.
    • Reporting and investigation of incidents, unsafe conditions and acts within area of responsibility.
    • Ensure all tasks are carried out according to the Safe Work Procedures and Risk assessments and that actions are compliant to the OHS Act, relevant Regulations and Company procedures.

    • 7 Years’ working experience in vehicle maintenance, auto electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems for cranes and /or earthmoving machinery and trucks.
    • Knowledge of OHS Act, relevant Regulations and Safety Standards (Risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures, sound housekeeping practices, SANS standards and certification).
    • Computer literate (MS Office).
    • Valid driver’s licence C or EC.

    Legal Administrator

    Main Purpose:

    • To carry out company secretarial legal administration functions and perform secretarial duties for the Executive GM: Legal and Internal Control Manager.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Maintain and update Company Registers.
    • Provide assistance to external Company Secretary to ensure legal compliance.
    • Prepare Board and Shareholder Resolutions.
    • Maintain and update contract files/agreements, registers and advise on termination dates timeously.
    • Ensure that the Lease register is up-to-date.
    • Liaise with legal service providers.
    • Facilitate conversion of AFS into format required by CIPC, including completing statutory questionnaires for each company.
    • Maintain and update Beneficial Ownership register at CIPC for each company.
    • Arrange, and prepare all documentation for, Board Meetings and AGMs.
    • Arrange and coordinate flights, accommodation and catering as required.
    • Maintain and update schedule of memberships in associations.
    • Complete and submit statutory forms accurately and within deadlines.
    • Capture invoices on the SAP system and track processing to ensure timeous payments.
    • Upload all relevant documents on the internal document control system.
    • Assist Retirement Fund Administrators with arranging presentations, and signing of documentation, etc.
    • Coordinate/arrange internal and external meetings.
    • Act as secretary for Social and Ethics Committee, taking minutes, and coordinating meetings.
    • Assist with various compliance initiatives and take responsibility for logging compliance related issues on the GEH tool.
    • Provide secretarial support to the EGM: Legal.
    • Cooperate with external auditor requirements by completing detailed statutory compliance questionnaires, and providing documents, etc.
    • Consolidating and providing Know-Your-Customer / FICA requirements to requestors.
    • Any other job-related duties as required from time to time.

    • 5 Years’ overall PA an administrative experience.
    • 1-2 Years’ experience in a legal department or regulatory environment.
    • Knowledge of legal and regulatory practices and procedures would be advantageous.
    • Computer literate (MS Office suite).
