    Facilitator (PPPrev) OR Tambo

    Job Advert Summary
    TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation.     Purpose of the position:

    • The purpose of this job is to facilitate multi-session evidence based structural programmes and conduct risk reduction to vulnerable AGYW to provide information and promote positive behaviour change in a safe space.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Accredited / recognised 10 days counselling certificate
    • Facilitation training and beneficiary of PPPrev Programme would be an advantage
    • One-year facilitation experience working in the community
    • Computer literate in MS office
    • Proficiency in English and isiXhosa languages
    • Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and own transport
    • Knowledge of the district health system, including structures like District AIDS Council, Local AIDS Council and war rooms

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Identify safe spaces in the community where structural programmes can be conducted
    • Conduct vulnerability pre-screening and identify the vulnerable girls to participate in structural sessions
    • Provide multi session structural programmes
    • Conduct online comprehensive risk reduction assessment
    • Ensure layering between structural programmes and behavioural and biomedical services
    • Support structural program coordinators (SPC) with mapping out of the communities, schools and institutions of higher learning with burden of disease
    • Lobbies and advocates for youth in relation to HIV, gender and related issues
    • Develop a work plan for the upcoming months
    • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings
    • Attends training and workshops as part of staff development
    • Networks with all relevant stakeholders and implements an effective referral system to ensure effective service delivery
    • Complete pre-screening vulnerability form for each beneficiary
    • Assist beneficiaries to complete all the fields in the register including SA ID and other PEPFAR UID related fields as well as the Zimisele card number upon graduation.
    • Enter each beneficiary LIVE on the CommCare Zimisele App upon issuing the Zimisele card during graduation
    • Records and maintains accurate and detailed information and keeps statistics in order to submit as required
    • Ensure compliance to POPIA
    • Submits weekly/ monthly reports to the supervisor

    Community Health Worker (Counsellor) - Malmesbury

    Purpose of the position:

    To provide counseling services and become an integral part of the broader comprehensive care and treatment counseling in a Non-Clinical site and/or community that links the community into care.

     Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Accredited training certificates ATTIC: Phase 1 Module 1Medical Information, Phase 1 Module 2 Counselling skills, Phase 1 Module 3 HCT, Phase 2 Module 1 ART/TB Adherence Counselling
    • 5 Day Basic HIV information course, 13 Day Intensive Counselling course and 10 Day Adherence, Finger Prick certificate
    • Knowledge of common medical, mental health and neurological conditions
    • at least two years’ experience working with vulnerable or hard to reach populations a recommendation

    • Ability to work non-traditional hours which may include weekends from time to time

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide education on HIV/TB/STI prevention, risk reduction planning, correct condom use and living positively
    • Uses guidelines to conduct health education and promote positive living
    • Conducts individual and group health education using the teaching aides provided
    • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in HIV/AIDS/TB/STI prevention
    • Engages with clients in a non-judgemental and empathic manner
    • Provides quality counseling advice in Non-clinical settings
    • Plans and coordinates outreach programs to Sex Workers, PWID, MSM/Transgender and Farm-worker communities, indoor/outdoor and rural

    Driver (Key Populations)

    Purpose of the position:

    • To provide transportation services for teams and/or equipment to the various locations and areas where the organisation provides services; to assist with the mobilisation of clients to the programme

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12/matric certificate
    • Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
    • Good communication skills
    • Proficiency in English and isiXhosa/any local language
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Transports wellness teams and equipment to and from different locations
    • Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Conducts daily vehicle inspections and reports defects to line manager
    • Adheres to all safety precautions and road ordinances
    • Complies with relevant legislation and organisation policies and procedures
    • Maintains client confidentiality and supports community outreach activities
    • Carries out and/or ensures all maintenance is carried out on all vehicles
    • Mobilises clients to access services and acts as a marshal to ensure order during community outreach activities

    Social Worker_Sex Work Programme - Mahikeng

    Purpose of the position:

    • To provide professional and holistic social work services by assessing the needs of sex workers  and implementing interventions and processes to meet their needs.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Social Work or B Social Science Degree from four-year College or university
    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within key populations
    • SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions) registration
    • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Proficiency in English and IsiSwati languages

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides psychosocial support and counselling services to sex workers
    • Provides individual and group counselling to the families of sex workers

    • Educates clients and their families on harm reduction and related issues

    Research Peer Navigator (FSW BBS) - Jhb Metro

    Purpose of the position:

    The research Peer Navigator is responsible for creating a link between the Female Sex Worker community and our research health facility and ensuring the process of recruitment and enrolment. The peer navigators’ responsibilities will include mobilisation of participants, sharing information about the study, basic data capturing, and linking study participants to care.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Age between 18 and 27 years
    • Experience in a health/clinic environment
    • Experience working with Female Sex Workers
    • Basic knowledge of public health and community resources
    • Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STI’s and TB
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English, Isizulu, SiSwati and Setswana

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Mobilise participants for enrolment to study
    • Welcome participants to the health facility
    • Relate to Female Sex Workers in a friendly and non-judgmental manner
    • Guide FSW’s to access services and help them feel comfortable
    • Provide basic HIV and Sexual Reproductive Health Education (one-on-one or group sessions)
    • Assist as a communicator between patients and clinicians
    • Facilitate structured information sessions for FSW’s at our site and in communities
    • Assist study staff with storage of study material in the facility
    • Note communities concerns and mediate concerns with the guidance of the study’s professional nurse
