    Finance Specialist (Renewables) - Cape Town - FTC

    Activities
    General

    • Maintain vigilant respect of local laws and regulations
    • Work in accordance with COMPANY’s rules, procedures & policies

    Budget / Cost control / Long term plan

    • Monitor cost streams and compare them to the budget. 
    • Budget and Long-Term Plan (LTP) 
    • Head office monthly reporting and closure forecasts
    • Cash flow management.
    • Approval of payments / invoicing.
    • Prepare financial reports, Annual Financial Statements, etc.
    • Liaison with operational teams (HSSE, Project Execution, Development & Asset Management, Business development, etc.) 

    Accounting

    • Bookkeeping and Administration
    • Compliance with contractual, legal, and Company accounting norms and procedures
    • Suppliers and vendor account management.
    • Establish and maintain accounting procedures
    • Ensure quarterly head office reporting (CAP) (if relevant)
    • Assist with the implementation of new accounting software.

    Tax

    • Tax general matters (advises, audits) in respective jurisdictions
    • Prepare CIT, VAT, WHT reports
    • Ensure TERSA is compliant with fiscal laws and timely completion of relevant tax returns
    • Liaison with SARS
    • Maintain relationship with third party service providers (TMSA) on tax filings 

    Treasury

    • Maintain Treasury functions including relation with local banks and Company Treasury
    • Report on external debt to Treasury
    • Maintain guarantees register to report to Treasury

    Audit and Advisory

    • Coordinates Company and external financial audits
    • Represent Company with external auditors and advisors
    • Manage the service level agreements with legal and professional engagement and other Company affiliates (TMSA, TEEPSA…)
    • Contract management (financial contracts)

    HR Administration (for TERSA)

    • Monthly payroll for internal staff 
    • HR Administration and filings 
    • Expat Vehicle lease agreements
    • Assist with the administration of site-based staff lease agreements

    Ad Hoc

    • Any other duties as may be delegated
    • TERSA secretarial filings including annual returns - Administration
    • Insurance management
    • Lender reporting - ensure obligations to lenders relating to operations reporting and any other requirements are compiled with.
    • Ensure compliance with finance documents (facilities agreement, etc.).
    • Liaison with NERSA, ESKOM, Lenders, Municipalities, IPP Office, Off-taker/Buyer and other project stakeholders.
    • Liaison with CIPC, COIDA, B-BBEE stakeholders.
    • Ensure company adopts & implements board of director’s company strategy and decisions made at board meetings.
    • Ensure proper governance.
    • Corporate administrative services.
    • Financial Control (revenue control, etc.).
    • support the social investment program including meeting each assets Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development obligations.
    • Manage Green Rights/Carbon Credits.
    • Insurance management.
    • Equity/debt financing management

    Candidate Profile

    • Previous experience in Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programme (REIPPPP) Project Bidding, Award to Financial Close, Construction and Operations.
    • Chartered accountant (CA) (or similar qualification) with minimum 6 years post qualification experience.
    • Microsoft Business Central (MBC) experience is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes that might have a financial impact on the Asset Owner. 
    • Detail oriented, with an ability to establish and follow processes.
    • Able to work under pressure and with sharp deadlines.
    • Management, communication and business skills.

    HSE O&M Lead (Renewables) - De Aar (Northern Cape)

    Activities

    • To provide leadership, governance and assurance for Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability (HSES) management across the SPV portfolio, ensuring compliance with legal, shareholder, lender and company requirements while supporting safe and sustainable operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide overall HSE and Environmental & Sustainability oversight across SPV operational assets, including Wind, Solar PV, 
    • BESS and associated electrical infrastructure, to meet HSE, E&S KPI targets.
    • Review, draft, and ensure the implementation of the Contractors and the Project Company HSE plans in compliance with the Company Rules, the local legislation, and International Standards. 
    • Ensure the reporting on HSE matters and done accurate and timeously. 
    • Coordinate legal compliance, permit obligations and company HSE requirements.
    • Lead implementation and continual improvement of the HSE Management System.
    • Provide contractor assurance through audits, inspections, reviews and performance monitoring.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, sustainability and lender requirements.
    • Lead incident investigations, audit activities and corrective action management.
    • Monitor operational risks and escalate significant HSE concerns to management.
    • Act as the SPV focal point for One Maestro governance, reporting and action management.
    • Prepare and present HSE reports to management and SPV governance structures.
    • Support emergency preparedness, operational readiness and management of change activities.

    Candidate Profile

    • Preferably Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental or equivalent qualification SACPCMP would be advantageous
    • 7+ years’ combined HSE experience, preferably in the renewable energy environment or in industrial operations HSE and Security Management Systems
    • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, South African HSE legislation and environmental requirement in the operations of renewable energy projects and operational sites
    • Experience managing HSE Management Systems, with Wind, Solar PV, BESS and substation operations, will be advantageous.
    • Take ownership of meeting deadlines and drive tasks to completion
    • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
    • Able to work independently and in groups
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Understanding of MS Project and Primavera project schedules
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skill and strong leadership, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proficient in English. 
    • Willingness to travel and spend time on site

    HSE O&M Practitioner (Renewables) - De Aar (Northern Cape)

    Activities

    • To support the implementation, monitoring and verification of Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability (HSES) management across the SPV portfolio, ensuring compliance with legal, shareholder, lender and company requirements while supporting safe and sustainable operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Support day-to-day implementation of HSE and Environmental & Sustainability requirements across SPV operational assets.
    • Act as the HSE site focal point with stakeholders (internal, contractor).
    • Review, draft, and ensure the implementation of the Contractors and the Project Company HSE plans in compliance with the Company Rules, the local legislation, and International Standards. 
    • Ensure other comprehensive sub documents are drafted and implemented as per the Company Rules such as Method Statement with Risk Analysis, Emergency Response Plan, Traffic Plan, PTW, Matrix of Qualifications etc…
    • Ensure the HSE and E&S compliance of equipment such as PPE, electrical tools, fire extinguisher, vehicles, scaffoldings, spill kits etc…
    • Promote a proactive and positive HSE environment at site through training, site audits, workshops, and communication.
    • Challenge the root cause analysis on technical failures.
    • Issue the reporting on HSE Site maters.
    • Conduct site inspections, operational verification and compliance monitoring activities.

    Contracts Specialist (Renewables) - Cape Town

    • He/She is reporting to the Legal Manager. He/she has to interact with business, technical, execution, financing and management teams from various locations. He/she has to interact with various teams within TotalEnergies, in order to deliver the projects. Finally, he/she is in direct contact with 3rd parties, like Partners, Contractors, Advisors (Technical, Legal…), Lenders… 
    • This role may require business travels.

    The Contracts Manager supports TotalEnergies Renewables’s growth and profitability while being responsible and accountable to:

    • manage the overall Contract Managing Workstream of its portfolio of projects, 
    • successful preparation and execution of those projects, in terms of HSE, budget, time schedule and performance criteria, quality, client satisfaction, risk and opportunities.
    • This role requires thus autonomy and accountability. 

    HSE 
    To effectively manage and minimise HSE risk within your area of responsibility by ensuring: 

    • Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements 
    • The promotion of a safe working environment and positively contributing to the company's HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies 
    • That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within your area of responsibility 

    Activities

    • Support the Development Team during the bidding phase to prepare termsheets and other relevant documentation linked to EPC and O&M Contractors.
    • Negotiate contracts with Contractors after award.
    • Leads and directs all contractual aspects of executing the project including risk assessment.
    • Having detail knowledge of the Power Purchase Agreement, EPC Contract, O&M Agreement and various Project Agreements/permits/consents and manage the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts.
    • Be effective in responding to the correspondences from various counter parties and ensure the interest of the Company is protected.
    • Actively monitors the project progress in line with the contract schedule and ensure the parties adhere to the program.
    • Interfaces with senior management team, finance and legal personnel to meet overall project deliverables.
    • Establishes procedures for award and administration of any Project contracts
    • Verifies the invoices of the contractors along with the Owner’s Engineer and process the payments.
    • Understand and prepare invoicing procedure for the Company and work together closely with the model consultant in finalizing the Settlement system and plant model software.
    • Monitors and manages the Company’s various registration documents, certifications, construction permits, project related permits, NOCs and work actively to ensure timely renewals.

    Candidate Profile

    • Minimum 7 Years of Experience working with large Wind, PV or Energy Storage projects in the Renewable Energy industry, preferably in the REIPPPP. Previous experience of interacting with ESKOM on self-built projects is a strong preference.
    • Professional Certification in Contracts Management is recommended
    • Be able to understand and analyse the details of non-contractual matters such as engineering, cost control, planning and construction in order to provide relevant contractual support.
    • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills is required.
    • Be a team player, yet be able to work independently and duly manage the workload and priorities.
    • Strong preference for South African Citizens, with previously disadvantaged individuals being a further preference.

    Senior Legal Advisor

    Activities
    The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

    • To structure, negotiate and draft or review commercial contracts of a significant value for new or existing business, industry or joint venture matters within the ambit of the law, policies and procedures and management approvals.
    • To provide legal advice on how to structure commercial transactions.
    • To provide legal advice on issues concerning the operations, finance, strategy or reputation of the company.
    • To provide legal support to business projects.
    • To ensure compliance with legal policies and procedures.
    • To ensure that the company’s best interests are protected in litigation matters.
    • To manage litigation and commercial legal matters dealt with by external attorneys in South Africa and NE countries.
    • To lead the rollout of inhouse training session pertaining to various topics (including competition law, environmental law, health and safety law and contract law).
    • To provide upskilling to interns on annual basis
    • To reduce legal spend and reduce reliance on external attorneys by doing as much of the legal work in-house

    Candidate Profile
    To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • LLB Degree. 
    • An admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
    • Working knowledge of contract law, drafting and negotiations of various commercial contracts, commercial and regulatory law and litigation.
    • 6 years' post articles experience working as an in-house legal adviser or attorney at a medium or large law firm.
    • Technical skills: Strong legal advisory skills, contracting drafting and negotiation skills, excellent written and presentation skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Key competencies include adhering to principles and values, analyzing, learning and researching, persuading and influencing, presenting and communicating information, writing and reporting. 
    • English is the working language.
