    JOB PURPOSE

    • This programme trains you to package products using automated packaging equipment while maintaining health, safety, and quality standards. You will develop business understanding, mechanical maintenance skills, and effective communication for line coordination and operation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform general line operations and cleaning activities as per operational plans.
    • Conduct pre-start-up checks to confirm equipment and area cleanliness and safety in line with SOPs.
    • Monitor product and packaging quality against set standards; report any faults promptly.
    • Detect process abnormalities and take immediate corrective action to prevent escalation.
    • Clean machinery according to manufacturer’s guidelines and site specifications.
    • Prepare and check raw materials for production use.
    • Maintain personal and team safety on the production line.
    • Actively contribute to an eco-efficient and sustainable work environment.
    • Comply with all learnership requirements, including assessments, logbook completion, and assignments.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • A National Senior Certificate (Matric) with a pass in Mathematics and Science is required, or an N2/N3/N4 Engineering qualification.

    Manufacturing Excellence Lead

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The Manex Lead champions UMS deployment and digital transformation at site level, building capability and eliminating losses to boost manufacturing performance. They turn strategy into action through a focused Masterplan that empowers operators, engineers, and leaders to deliver world‑class results.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead UMS Implementation
    • Drive the deployment and management of the Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) across the site, ensuring alignment with the category manufacturing strategy.
    • Develop and Execute UMS Masterplan
    • Translate the site manufacturing strategy into a comprehensive UMS Masterplan, including preparation phase planning, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
    • Coach and Build Capability
    • Provide UMS education and coaching to all site personnel (operators, engineers, supervisors, managers), including leadership development and pillar capability building.
    • Facilitate Pillar Development
    • Support and guide pillar leaders in setting benchmarks, tracking progress, and achieving pillar goals through regular reviews and active participation.
    • Promote UMS Culture and Engagement
    • Champion UMS across the site, fostering cultural change through recognition programs, success sharing, and employee engagement initiatives.
    • Drive Operational Performance
    • Ensure UMS activities contribute to measurable improvements in manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, OR, Zero-Based Waste and ManEx Savings.
    • Lead Digital Transformation
    • Drive the adoption and integration of digital tools and systems to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
    • Governance and Review Leadership
    • Lead quarterly factory performance reviews and ensure adherence to FOS governance across all pillars and departments.
    • Support Masterplan Updates
    • Collaborate with site leadership to create and update factory master plans, ensuring alignment with zero-loss journey and strategic goals.
    • Coordinate External Support and Learning
    • Plan and manage consultant visits, document learnings, and ensure effective follow-up actions to accelerate UMS progress.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • BSc/BEng Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

    Key Requirements

    • 5 years working in manufacturing environment directly with production teams.
    • At least 2-3 years leadership of first line production teams
    • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Hands on experience with implementation of world class manufacturing system (WCM, TPM, Six Sigma etc.).
    • In depth knowledge of pillar methodologies and capability building

    Preferred Requirements

    • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or higher)
    • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2)

    Commercial Finance Business Partner - HC

    JOB PURPOSE

The Commercial Business Partner plays a critical role in partnering with the Business Group by providing financial insights, reporting, and analysis to drive business performance and strategic decision-making. The role is integral to the company’s management accounting systems, including governance and controls, budgeting, planning, reporting, and performance management.

    WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Actively involved in budgeting process, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate and realistic budgets.
    • Monitor and update forecasts based on actual performance and market conditions

    Performance Reporting:

    • Accountable for internal validation and sign-off for your respective Category Forecast.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.
    • Identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements

    Business Partnering:

    • Provide financial decision support to the Business Group leadership teams.
    • Prepare and conduct financial analysis and Return on Investment for new product launches, marketing campaigns, and other business initiatives. 

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Lead the digital, simplification and process improvement initiatives.

    Leadership:

    • Demonstrate visible leadership in Finance and engage in industry forums to enhance the organization's reputation.
    • Lead teams in delivering people agenda activities, including mentoring, recruiting, and talent management.

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Accounting qualification, good progress toward CIMA or a CA advantageous
    • Strong analytical capabilities with bias to drive action
    • Ability to manage upwards
    • Ability to steer conversations and influence
    • Understanding or ability to quickly grasp financial principles, identify and drive relevant value-creating choices and decisions
    • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines

    Skills

    • Proficiency in financial forecasting and reporting tools.
    • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Leadership skills – able to lead, motivate, inspire
