What you'll have done before

• 2 years’ experience in Terminal operations/Supply Chain 
• Receipt of various product grades via pipeline, ship and road.
• Dealing with other Oil companies, external surveyors and internal shipping teams 
• Ensure the plant operates effectively and contributing to minor maintenance at the terminal.
• Knowledge of Shipping Operations

• The right products in the right quantities are received into stock.
• No accidents, contaminations or spills due to negligence of incumbent.

• Product handling take place in accordance with laid-down policy guidelines and Standing instructions.
• No delays in customer service due to incompetence of operator-all products dispatched on time as per loading documentation.
• The work area is maintained in a clean, safe and hazard-free condition.
• Depot equipment in good working order.
• Stocks are counted, tanks dipped on time as per agreed schedule.
• Perform minor plant maintenance as per instructions of Plant Supervisor.
• Interact with customers and service providers.
• Work with contractor to ensure deliverables are met.
• Provide internal support to the contractor.

What you’ll have done before:

Baseline:

• NQF Level 7 (Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering/ Data Science/ Business Analytics)
• 4 years’ experience in Data/ Statistical Analysis
• Experience in Data Analytics/ BI/ Data Science
• Proficiency in statistical applications/ tech tools (PowerBI, SAC, Tableau, Excel, VBA, BI tools)
• Experience in Software Engineering/ Business Software Solutions

Advantageous:

• Additional qualification in Mathematics or Statistics
• Coding skills (SQL, Python, R)
• Experience in HSEQ Database and dashboards development and management
• Experience in predictive analytics

What you’ll be doing

HSEQ Data Management

• Develop templates, collection system, and databases for all required HSEQ data 
• Use data mining techniques to consolidate and analyse information from available data sources to support process optimisation and automation modelling
• Perform cleansing, processing, and validation on the data subject to analyze, in order to ensure its quality and liaise with data providers to improve quality of data where required
• Work with business requirements to identify and understand source data systems and identify resolutions to data issues and drive automation of HSEQ reports

ANALYSIS & COMMUNICATION

• Conduct analysis on HSEQ data using advanced methods including predictive analytics to extract valuable insights and forecast future trends and events
• Collaborate with HSEQ Specialists and SMEs to improve analysis and technical insights
• Maintain standard and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards with insights, and metrics that drive change in the business which are tailored in level of detail for the appropriate stakeholders.
• Communicate to internal stakeholders through discussion, presentations, and write-ups of results, recommendations and meaningful insights gained through data analysis to be used to develop strategic and operational plans
• Compile and share HSEQ Performance trends for the Group and the business units 
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions
• HSEQ Strategy & Target Setting
• Perform required calculations to determine annual targets and limits for Engen and frontline divisions KPIs and support goal setting process
• Monitor and provide feedback monthly on HSEQ performance against targets at Engen and Divisional levels
• Support development of strategic interventions to address HSEQ performance through data-driven information

MANAGEMENT REPORTING

• Compile HSEQ papers and presentation material for key engagements (HSEQ MC, Engen MC, Social & Ethics Committee, Management Audit Review & Compliance Committee, Board Audit Review & Compliance Committee and Engen Board) to ensure proper reporting of all HSEQ related activities

WHAT YOU’LL HAVE DONE BEFORE:

• NQF Level 7 (Degree in Science/ Engineering/ Environmental Management/ Business)    

 
EXPERIENCE

• 5 years experience in working with data management, trending and analysis within sustainability performance measures    
• Experience in Sustainability reporting
• Experience in online environmental data reporting on government systems    Understanding of sustainability standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, FTSE4Good and DJSI)
• Experience with greenhouse gas calculation methodologies and emission factors for Petrochemical/Energy sector    
• Experience in coordinating inputs from various stakeholders    

ADVANTAGEOUS 

• Experience in Sustainability reporting
• Understanding of sustainability standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, FTSE4Good and DJSI)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

SUSTAINABILITY DATA COLLATION, QC & REPORTING

Management and facilitation of timely Sustainability related reporting requirements including:   

• Collation of water and energy related data from all divisions
• Verification of data submitted by divisions against source data
• Training of operational divisions’ administration staff in invoice reading and operations staff in meter reading
• Engagement with municipalities for water and electricity invoice and meter reading queries

SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING

• Manage content, data and assurance of annual sustainability reporting 
• Monthly sustainability KPIs reporting. 
• Preparation of ENGEN GHG data in format for regulatory reporting of GHG data as per regulatory requirements on online SAGERS system
• Preparation of presentations for management and provide reviewed inputs into the sustainability report.
• Lead and manage continuous scanning, interpreting, and assessing the impact of changes in sustainability related standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, FTSE4Good and DJSI, through research, analysis, syndication and consultation with internal and external stakeholders/ experts in order to formulate strategic options and positioning.

PERFORMANCE TRENDS ANALYSIS

• Compilation of key Sustainable Development Performance trends for ENGEN and the business units and conduct initial analysis of trends highlighting areas for in-depth analysis.

BUDGET PROJECTIONS & MONITORING

• Participate in development of carbon budget and compile projections of GHG data for all divisions 

SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMME SUPPORT

• Coordinate implementation of sustainability plans with Programme owners
• Consolidate monthly progress feedback and update implementation dashboard (Sustainability page)
• Coordinate quarterly Sustainability Steercom meetings and perform secretariat function.
• Collaborate with SDG focals and Specialists to consolidate presentation packs for Sustainability steercom
• Support implementation of SDG communication plan
• Coordinate water use licence/registration applications with relevant authorities to support alternate water use strategy
