THE JOB AT A GLANCE
- To maintain mechanical and Electrical equipment in good order by adhering to maintenance procedures to enable Production Department to meet production targets.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Machinery available and utilized to full capacity
- Planned maintenance executed and improved operational efficiency at all machines assigned to the position
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance / repairs on equipment
- Complete Preventative maintenance schedules.
- To minimise plant downtime through efficient & effective maintenance
- Rewiring of electrical machinery with a view to effective improvements
- Overhaul spare / old machinery to be available when breakdowns occur
- Maintain site services
- To minimise plant downtime through efficient & effective maintenance in line with good engineering practice & the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures
- To efficiently manage stocks of spares & equipment needed to maintain Plant
- To maximise Plant efficiency through continuous improvement
- To adhere to Company health and safety procedures and the OHS Act
- Participate in problem solving sessions (RCAs)
- Coach Operators on Quick Fix routines and Autonomous Maintenance
- Participate in FMEAs
Qualifications
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

- Core knowledge – TPM/WCM philosophy and principles, Planned and Preventative Maintenance
Key foundational competencies
- Academic – Matric or equivalent, N3 Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanics Trade test (trade tested Millwright)

- Personal Effectiveness – Effective communication, Interpersonal skills, Integrity, Creativity, Continuous learning
Experience
- Function – 5 years working experience working as Millwright
- Experience on Acepak Shrink wrappers, Universal Pack Sachet filling machines, MV reticulation systems and Allen Bradley PLCs/Siemens PLCs
- Industry – Experience in FMCG industry desirable

Job Description
- You are focussed on ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the GL by preparing journal entries for capture, preparing complex account reconciliations, performing cost analysis, and completing the month end reporting to Group. You will assist the Lead Financial Accountant and Finance Manager with Category reporting - weekly estimates, month end reporting, ad hoc analysis as required, as well as internal- and external auditors with information/feedback requested and ensure consistent application of internal controls.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible to produce the periodic trial balances for a selected business unit / category, to ensure that the system is in balance and suitable period-end reports to ensure that financial statements reflect the fair presentation of financial results and position.
- Prepare Bank reconciliations.
- Responsible to reconcile complex balance sheet reconciliations and provide support to the Assist Accountants and finance clerks where required
- Responsible to capture the monthly results, as well as F/Cast and Budget in the reporting tool
- Provides the basis for allocating expenditure to various cost centres and general accounts – Reconciliation reports.
- Provide financial Information that can be relied upon for making financial and administrative decisions.
- Prepare monthly journals
- Review and approve electronic payments to suppliers
- Answers to queries, information, explanations and help as required.
- Prepare and submit monthly Vat returns.
- Preparation of the provisional and final tax calculation and completion of the Tax return on the tax reporting tool
Qualifications
Key attributes and competencies
- CL or sufficient experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills
- Business analytical skills
- Strong Finance business background
- Be able to make sound, independent judgements within established policies and procedures.
- Advances knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing required.
Experience
- 3+ years total experience with 3 years relevant financial accounting experience, FMCG and manufacturing a requirement
- Achieve complete and up-to-date documentation.

- Level of support provided to the Lead Financial Accountant and Finance manager.

- Manage and control the issuing and receiving of stock, whilst maintaining the required housekeeping and inventory control standards.

- Ensure that quality of materials received in acceptable
- Ensure that quantity received matches the delivery note and purchase order
- Store all items into designated stores, warehouses in a secure manner
- Ensures accurate stock control and stock rotation
- Issue items to different departments
- Ensure that stock balances are correct, resolves variances through investigations and reports same to management.
- Conducts and Co-ordinates complete physical inventory of monthly stock counts, cycle counts where applicable.
- Inspect quality of all incoming materials
- Organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory for efficient material and handling
- Maintain labelling system on each stock item; manually stocks inventory with stock items received and returned.
- Housekeeping best practices are maintained – in line with GMP scorecard
- Ensures the Management of CHEP pallet system is maintained with Tigerbrands best practice
- Liaise with Suppliers on stock issues and receipts.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
