• We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll bookkeeper to execute payroll and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in payroll, reconciliation processes, and financial reporting, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration:

• Perform payroll activities.
• Import payroll information into the system accurately and efficiently.
• Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and distribute monthly payroll reports.
• Upload bank files payment.
• Conduct systems administration related to payroll software.
• Prepare audit documentation for both internal and external auditors.
• Complete SARS submissions for mid-year and year-end reporting.
• Handle Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Return of Earnings (ROE) submissions.
• Accounting Functions:
• Process monthly journal entries.
• Perform cash book reconciliations and uploads.
• Reconcile payroll accounts on a monthly basis.
• Collaborate with the finance department on all payroll-related reconciliations and transactions.
• Reconciliations and payment of all 3rd

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a relevant Degree/Diploma
• Advantageous if candidate has retail experience
• In-depth knowledge of SARS and BCEA legislation and requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Familiarity with payroll systems, preferably Payspace, and payroll processing.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
