    Executive Manager: Banking Operations

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To develop and implement the overall divisional banking strategy and plan to sustainably lead banking operations and proactively drive and develop relationships with Corporate, Commercial and Development customers as well as Intermediary Channel Partnerships within the agricultural sector.
    • Plays an integral role in leading the originating, structuring and executing of transactions with existing customers and proactively driving new business development opportunities.
    • Is critical to the execution of the transformation strategy as well as the provision of technical services and capabilities across the bank. Leads.
    • Leads and enhances the Bank’s profitability, product offerings, develop tailor made customer solutions, mitigate transactional risks, and manage relationships with customers.

    Key Performance Areas    

    • Formulate the Banking Operations strategy and aligns it to the Land Bank strategy and operating model
    • Analyse the Land Bank Strategy to determine the future trends and strategic direction of the company and translates Group Strategy into relevant divisional strategy.
    • Interpret the Land Bank Strategy to determine the 3-year vision/strategy for Banking Operations.
    • Translating the Corporate Strategy into a Divisional Strategy and Execution and Re-Engineering Delivery.
    • Designs and Implements revenue streams that drive the Bank’s profitability and financial sustainability
    • Develop and implement the best ‘fit for purpose’ service delivery approaches and structure for the Land Bank.
    • Designs foundations for growth of the Commercial Development (from emerging commercial farmers to existing medium and large commercial farmer markets).
    • Optimising the distribution network across customer segments in order to grow the loan book.

    Governance:

    • Credit Management and Enterprise Risk Management for Banking Operations - policies
    • Oversees compliance with client lending practices and standards.
    • Assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Clearly articulate the commercial value add of transactions and how credit risks are mitigated as it goes through the governance structures for approval.
    • Development Impact and Transformation of the Agricultural Sector
    • Determine the approach and framework for the achievement of the Development Impact Mandate in support of the Bank’s development and transformation mandate.
    • Identify, facilitate and manage agricultural development projects 

    Business Development and Stakeholder Management

    • Accountable for all origination and business development within the Division, including origination delivery elements executed through Intermediary Channel Partnership and Strategic Partners.
    • Manage all aspects of Bank interaction with clients, including directing and coordinating execution of transaction.
    • Assume primary responsibility for developing, maintaining and generating revenue from clients.

    Partnership Fund Management

    • Identify, pursue and initiate fund and partnership opportunities to cultivate the agricultural market and ensure alignment to the strategy.
    • Conduct investment appraisal of proposed funds to determine viability and economic impact.
    • Engage appropriate multidisciplinary Land Bank resources to initiate negotiations with potential fund partners to ensure fit for purpose new products and partnerships.

    Preferred Minimum Education and Experience    

    • A post graduate degree in Agriculture, Banking, Finance or Business
    • Master’s degree/or MBA in business or related area
    • Experience in Development Finance, Corporate, Business/Commercial or Investment Banking - 8 years
    • Strategic Management experience which includes leadership or management of a customer-facing profit making business unit – 10 years
    • Experience in the leadership of strategic programme execution which includes project management and/or consulting – 8 years
    • Experience of the above job function at an Executive Management Level as well as the ability to manage a team of Senior Managers and professionals – 8 years

    Executive Manager: Agricultural Economics & Advisory

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To lead and proactively drive a Specialised Knowledge Hub for Agricultural Industry Economics and Scientific Expertise for the Land Bank.
    • Creates strategies and programmes to improve the service delivery capability across the bank
    • To establish approaches and methodologies across the entire Bank for effective and consistently applied Assessment / Due Diligence processes.
    • Initiate, grow and sustain sector specific development programmes, in conjunction with intermediaries and service providers, across the country.

    Chief Information Officer

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • The role is responsible for the provision of IT strategy and technology services to Landbank and its subsidiaries. The role also identifies the Bank’s network and technological strategic needs and objectives, provide a reliable up-time network, and ensures the protection of employer scalability.     Manager: Risk Governance and Reporting

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • The purpose of LBI Risk Governacne and Reporting function is to support Head of Risk to discharge the primary responsibility of risk governance and risk reporting aspects and the oversight/ coordination aspects of the financial soundness  and key entity level controls. The function will be coordinate and support the development and implementation of the LBI risk governance framework, supporting processes and reporting. This is a manner that meets business and regulatory  requirements. Through the key entity level controls, provide the requisite assurance to the Senior Management (Exco) on the overall internal control framework and the implementation Risk policies across LBI entities.

    Key Performance Areas

    Manager: Enterprise Risk

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • The purpose of role is support Head of Risk in developing and facilitating the implementation and maintenance of a fit-for-purpose Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), which include Operational, Insurance, Financial and Strategic Risk, with Land Bank Insurance entities, thereby safeguarding its assets, customers, reputation and the interest of shareholders by identifying and assessing as well as managing threats to the achievement of its business objectives.

    General Manager: Enterprise Risk

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    Design, Developing, Driving and Integrating the Enterprise-wide Risk Management framework within Land Bank Group

    • Design, develop, implement and integration of an Enterprise – Wide Risk Framework(ERMF)

    Credit Manager: Commercial and Development Banking (FTC - 12 Months)

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • The Credit Manager is responsible for the overall applications receivable from Commercial Development and Business Banking (CDBB) portfolio assigned to their defined region as it relates to credit assessment function and credit risk management of new business, existing business and restructured accounts.
    • Manage the end to end credit process of Commercial Development and Business Banking clients in order to enable Land Bank to provide sustainable financing to Commercial Development and Business Banking farmers.
    • Collectively approve loans and credit limits under delegated authority within the Commercial Credit Committee (CCC) structure and review transactions for recommendation within delegated authority mandate.
    • Find innovative credit solutions for Commercial Development and Business Banking clients in order to ensure that credit risks in this target market are adequately assessed, mitigated and controlled.
    • Co-ordinate Commercial Credit Committee (CCC) , Credit Adjudication Committee (CAC)  and Pricing Committee meetings; manage committee processes and policies, and act as an information and reference point for the Chairman and other committee members.
    • Manage, control and authorise tasks performed by subordinates ( output of the Credit Analysts and Credit Administrators)
    • Effectively liaise and communicate with the relevant stakeholders within the Land Bank to action performance gaps and variances in the credit evaluation process.
    • Actively provide input in the review and or improvement of the Credit Policy and Procedures in order to enhance and ensure that the legal and business requirements are met.
    • Management of the records ( minutes, agendas, decision forms, registers, ratings and declarations) and safe keeping of all CRMC, CCC, CAC and Pricing committee meetings attended

    Key Performance Areas    
    Quality Credit Assessment and Credit Risk Management

    • Conduct and ensure quality credit assessment of the loan applications in order to conform to the set standards, highlight anomalies and suggest corrective measures in order to enable Land Bank to improve quality of loan book.
    • Assess business and financial risk by analysing financial statements of applicants
    • Review credit applications for re-advancement of loans taking into consideration past operational/financial performance of
    • Identify any deviation from the Account Management Policy and take remedial action.
    • Monitor and review emerging issues in the re-advanced loans and take decisions thereon or make recommendations

    Collective mandate to approve loans and credit limits under delegated authority

    • Compulsory attendance of meetings by the Credit Manager as a voting member.
    • Consider and recommend applications that are mandated to committee for approval, in instances where there is an exception to the approved credit policies
    • To implement the Credit Policy.
    • Ensure a uniform application of credit policies and processes throughout the Land Bank;
    •  Prepare for the meeting including pre-meeting reading of documents circulated prior to the meeting.

    Manage and perform the duty of the Committee Secretariat (CAC, CCC and Pricing Committee)

    • Co-ordinate Commercial Credit Committee (CCC) , Credit Adjudication Committee (CAC) and Pricing Committee meetings.
    • Provide advice to the Chairman and all members on committee policy and processes;
    • Capture the record of decision in the relevant form accurately, any declaration of interests made by members and the decision made by the Chairperson with regards to recusal and participation on the matter that was deliberated;
    • Ensure Decision forms are signed within 24 hours of a meeting being held;

    Credit Policies and Procedures

    • Ensure that the quality and management of the credit portfolio being considered is in accordance with the Credit policies and procedures of the Bank
    • Ensure that policies and procedures are in place to manage and control credit risk within the Land Bank;
    • Provide inputs to review of the Credit policies based on insights gained through management of the credit application process
    • Thorough review of applications with Provincial offices, check adherence to approved credit policies and norms, highlight deviations and suggest corrective action
    • Follow up on suggested corrective actions and submit memos for approval to the relevant Credit Committee

    Stakeholder Management

    • Compile relevant training materials and provide training and guidance to the relevant stakeholders on credit related matters
    • Manage and respond to all allocated queries
    • Responsible to build and maintain relationships within the allocated region
    • Responsible to manage and provide technical support to Provincial Offices in respect of credit tools.
    • Responsible to promote a culture of credit risk management with all the relevant stakeholders by optimising and streamlining commercial credit approval work processes to promote efficient turnaround

    • Attend to audit findings relating to credit applications for relevant region
    • Initiate corrective action based on audit findings and monitor progress and improvements
    • Ensure that the relevant management information is captured on SAP so as to prioritize risks

    • To provide expert agriculture industry economics support services across the Bank when requested with particular emphasis on where there are either skills / competency shortages or where potential investments are either highly complex or high value.

    Senior Technical Specialist: SAP MM (Materials Management)

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To provide ERP configuration and software program development, maintenance and support services through gathering user requirements from business process owners. To provide ERP system training to process owners and power users. To guide, support and mentor the more junior team members.

    Key Performance Areas    

    • Application Support, Maintenance and Changes to ERP Solutions and Processes 
    • Gather SAP systems requirements and develop, design and deliver the SAP systems process recommendations required to support the various Business Units.
    • Develop and review business cases, functional specifications, blue prints, and all other associated documentation
