    GC / GP Diving Coach - JHB North

    Description

    The College invites applications for the above-mentioned part time position, which will be available from 1 January 2024.  Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills, passion and competencies to take on this position. This position will require up to 25 – 30 hours per week including attendance at meets/ competitions

    • The successful candidate will be required to plan and lead the activities of the Girls’ Prep and Girls’ College diving teams including: Daily training; Tours & Camps; Internal marketing of the sport; Long term planning and budgeting; Other general admin tasks as required for the effective running of the sport

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • A minimum of 5 years coaching experience at an advanced level
    • Must have previous personal diving experience
    • A high level of personal diving or coaching experience in school is required
    • A professional Degree in Phys Ed, Sports Science or Sports administration would be an added advantage
    • Proof of sexual offender’s clearance certificate.  Any staff working within a school are required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate.
    • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as participation in the broader life of the school.

    BC - HOD Mathematics - JHB North

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A proven academic record and appropriate experience
    • Experience in IEB Matric Mathematics marking (and curriculum development) would be a distinct advantage
    • An excellent all round knowledge of Mathematics with a passion for the subject
    • Experienced in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices per IEB requirements and the needs of the learners
    • A fundamentally future-orientated approach to teaching and learning
    • A passion for teaching and for the young men whose learning you would be expected to inspire
    • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
    • Strong ability to manage and mentor both a large department of experienced teachers and intern teachers
    • Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate ICT into your teaching and learning
    • Willingness to collaborate with other Heads of Departments on Campus to further the love of maths and curriculum development
    • Promote mathematical excellence and extension of top students through Olympiads (training), Tour de Maths, NBT type training
    • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos and co-curricular and extension activities
    • Continue with support structures for students needing assistance and support
    • An ability to be flexible and embrace change
    • An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team
    • Ability to take initiative and to act decisively
    • Ability to inspire and encourage people to seek and maintain high standards of performance

    GP Maths and Science Teacher - JHB North

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A suitable professional teaching qualification in Mathematics and Natural Science
    • At least 5 years experience in teaching Mathematics and Natural Science at intermediate and senior phase (girls’ education an advantage)
    • Excellent all-round knowledge of Mathematics and Natural Science with a passion for these subjects.
    • Knowledge and experience utilising Inquiry-Based Learning would be advantageous.
    • Experience in supporting students with barriers to learning in an inclusive environment
    • Experience in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to CAPS, IEB and international trends
    • A team player with an ability to integrate STEAM subjects across all curriculum areas.
    • Computer literacy and an ability to integrate IT and digital learning into your teaching
    • A fundamentally future-orientated approach to teaching, learning and pastoral care of girls
    • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum, and an openness to ongoing personal and professional development
    • A willingness to work within the values and Christian ethos of the College as well as to participate in a busy school, including extra murals and evening/weekend activities

    GP Grade 3 Teacher and Coordinator - JHB North

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience, specialising in Foundation Phase education, particularly in girls’ education
    • At least five years teaching experience in the Foundation Phase
    • Experience in leading a grade or in a leadership position
    • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
    • A passion for teaching and an understanding of the development of young girls
    • The ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders
    • An ability to be flexible, innovative and embrace change
    • Experience in using the RWI (Read Write Inc) programme
    • Computer literacy and experience in integrating IT into your teaching and learning
