Job Description
SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.
SACAP is looking for a Student Administrator for the Online Campus.
The Student Administrator is responsible for the organisation and management of all administrative functions involved in the student end- to-end experience. This includes but is not limited to all administrative tasks, all student records and graduation for the relevant campus. The administration team is expected to maintain a positive relationship with students, to ensure a seamless transition from term to term, in order to meet business metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Providing support to the Lead Administrator and Online Administration team and end-to-end processes of Online Administration
- Implementing strategies for continuous improvement and excellence of the Online Administration experience
- The resolution of student queries within the stipulated timeframes, and to the required quality
- Providing feedback to admissions during quality assurance process for missing new student data
- Liaising directly with the admissions team in managing new student class sizes and advising admissions on correct progression of modules for new students
- Drafting and distributing termly timetable
- Processing of informing/notifying students of timetable, registration dates and penalties
- Student allocation of classes on StudentBase
- Overseeing that students are correctly allocated on MySACAP classrooms from StudentBase
- Termly class preparation and updates on MySACAP
- Confirming classes and times at least one week prior to the start of term and inform the Teaching and Learning Coordinator accordingly
- Issuing of official letters to students, such as Confirmation or Completion letters, etc
- Maintaining, monitoring and updating the student data on our Student Management System
- Providing accurate information to students queries
- Providing first line assistance for any system related query
- Maintaining a positive rapport with campus student body
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 year undergraduate degree in social, human sciences or administration
- 2 years administrative experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education

Job Description

SACAP is looking to employ an Academic Support Advisor for the Cape Town Campus. This role will provide a full range of academic support and development services to ensure students are empowered to realise their academic success. The role will also connect students’ academic interests with their personal and career ambitions. This role strongly liaises with the Student Administration team, the Academic team and reports directly to the Academic Support Manager.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing academic support and development to SACAP’s students;
- Acting as a point of contact for all academic support and development needs;
- Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames;
- Involved in termly orientation per new cohort;
- Monitoring student academic performance and engagement;
- Tracking and documenting national academic support and development metrics;
- Study plans and career guidance;
- Academic one-on-one counselling
- Awareness / advocacy campaigns re: academic issues;
- Facilitating peer support and peer-assisted learning;
- Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention;
- Utilising SACAP’s Student Management System in order to provide expert guidance to SACAP students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of an Honours degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology or Coaching; or at least 5-years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic results
- Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
- 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education.
- Ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record student data.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offerings
- Highly developed relationship building / interpersonal skills
