    Underground Safety Officer

    Description

    • Conduct inspections at the various sites
    • Conduct incident and accident investigations according to safety protocols and corporate requirements
    • Participate in safety audits including all logistical arrangements
    • Facilitate Risk and Change Management process
    • Planned inspections 30, 45, 90 days
    • Co-ordinate safety meetings
    • Provide statistics to management
    • Conduct / Facilitate Risk Assessments
    • Present Induction
    • Ability to train and coach
    • Conduct Visible Felt Leadership

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 qualification
    • National Diploma in Safety and/or Engineering management will be advantageous
    • Knowledge of the MHSA and relevant Legislation
    • Minimum 3 years underground safety officer experience in the mining industry
    • Blasting Certificate Metalliferous Mining
    • COMSOC 1 & 2 qualification
    • SAMTRAC qualification
    • Accident Investigation qualification

    • TMM and RBE risk management knowledge
    • Risk assessment techniques application

    General Engineer Supervisor

    Description

    • Develop & implement prescribed standards & procedures to ensure legal SHE compliance within area of responsibility
    • Create a “Visible felt Leadership” SHE culture within area of responsibility
    • Implement and maintain Risk Management program measures to continually improve SHE conditions within area of responsibility
    • Have vast experience of Winding plants and legals knowledge pertaining to the Winders

    Requirements

    ·       NQF 4 (Diploma / Advanced Certificate) qualification in Engineering (Advantageous)
    ·       Have at least 10 years’ experience in supervisor position (Electrical/Mechanical Foreman)
    ·       Be in possession of GES Certificate (Advantageous)
    ·       Relevant trade qualification
    ·       Demonstrate ability to meet technical and responsibility requirements of the legal appointment.
    ·       Demonstrate sound knowledge of basic Legal, Health and Safety and Environmental principles used in the workplace

    Senior Mining Engineer (Planning)

    Description

    • Participate in the annual LOM Planning process by delivering designs, schedules and all other planning related aspect for the BML underground mines.
    • Provide detailed key inputs for the budgeting process and assist production team in achieving annual targets, by providing technical inputs and guidance in accordance to the budget plan.
    • Produce detailed 3 monthly schedules and update up to end of life on a quarterly basis.
    • Review and approve the 7/21 schedule prepared by the UG contractor and the BML Mining Department.
    • Monitor and report deviance from 3 monthly and 7/21 schedules.
    • Overview month end reporting process for underground production statistics.
    • Coordinate all relevant production engineering work including stope and ring designs.
    • Ensure all designs, memos and instructions are issues in time and to standard.
    • Coordinate monthly stope reconciliations and preparation of Month-End Spatial Compliance Reports for all Development and Stoping Areas.
    • Establish and maintain a mine planning system, using suitable fit for purpose software, to integrate geological resource models, survey data, optimized designs, productivity trends, process recoveries to accurately and timely plan mining sequences, development phases and required production targets.
    • Maintain compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001

    Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering.
    • Minimum seven years’ experience in the planning, design and operation of underground mines of which at least 5 years are in the planning domain.
    • Excellent presentation skills to transfer proposals and findings through to fellow team Members and Executive Management.
    • Experience in various underground mechanized mining methods essential.
    • Advanced (expert) skills in 3D mine design and scheduling software (Deswik, Datamine, Studio 5D, EP, Vulcan, Mine2-4D).
    • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office.
    • Conventional, Trackless Mining, Cut-And-Fill, Long Hole Open Stoping (LHOS) Mining method and Paste/Back Filling experience will be advantageous.
    • Code 8 Drivers License.
    • Valid certificate of physical fitness.

    Mechanical Engineering Foreman

    Description

    • Require strong planning, leading, organizing and controlling supervisory skills and assertiveness
    • Require strong Mechanical knowledge.
    • The key performance areas will be to plan work requirements and priorities with the operational and engineering teams, and oversee the equipment, and staff to achieve the production outputs. The incumbent will also be required to ensure that engineering employees have clear work expectations and plans and will implement and maintain all applicable safety regulations, acts, codes of practice, standards, discipline and assist with HR and IR issues. Standby duty, overtime and work on Sundays/public holidays will be required.
    • Budget and resource planning and control, Report writing, basic engineering experience.

    • N3 or Grade 12 Qualification
    • Qualified artisan (Section 13B or 26D or Red Seal Trade Certificate in Mechanical)
    • Experience as a Mechanical Engineering Foreman
    • Ability to read and write in English and communicate with people on different levels
    • Computer literate (Excel, Word and e-mail)
    • Driver’s license
    • Valid Certificate of physical fitness
