Purpose of the role

• To perform minor repairs and general maintenance of the stores. This role reports to the Business Controller.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining records of any work and inspections done on-premises
• Performing inventory on repair supplies
• Keeping repair tools and supplies clean and organised
• Setting up repair appointments with mechanics or electricians when needed
• Making and installing new furniture or equipment
• Ensuring all safety systems are functioning properly, including smoke, generators, sprinklers, air coolers, etc.
• Conducting routine maintenance on equipment and building systemsCompleting safety checks on systems and equipment
• Doing pest control, pool maintenance, and landscaping
• Performing general maintenance tasks for the building or buildings, such as window washing, drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting and more
• Detecting, identifying, and repairing building issues, like basic problems with the building's electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Responding to and completing tenant or supervisor maintenance requests
• Support external companies in maintenance overhaul, repair and modifications of facilities
• Along with his or her direct manager, be the guarantor of the security of people and property in the business unit
• Manage his or her own work schedule in terms of urgency and priorities

Requirements
The successful candidate should have the following skills, experience and attributes:

• Grade 12
• Electricity and/or Plumbing experience
• NOSA Certification (Introduction to Health and Safety Act)
• Minimum 3 years of experience at a retail store 
• Solid maintenance understanding
• Solid knowledge in maintenance and upkeep of facilities (movable and immovable properties)
• Service mentality, planning and organisation skills
• Receptive attitude
• Good communication skills
• Time Management

Purpose of the Role 

• Consult with the customer with the purpose of understanding their needs.
• Propose the right product and service according to customer requirements, including quality, convenience, and price. Explain how products work and what services are available for the customer.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.

Key Responsibility 

• Apply appropriate sales process to build customer relationships and meet sales target
• Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Engage customers to understand their needs and guide them in their choice 
• Provide appropriate solutions through products and services
• Identify new business opportunities through understanding market trends
• Follow up on sales leads
• Liaise with the Department Manager and merchandisers on products that are preferred by customers 
• Maintain outstanding store conditions, i.e. layout, cleanness, prices, product availability, and visual merchandising standards
• Participate in the department's commercial action plan
• Assist a customer on total project, before, during, and after sales. 
• Propose a personalized solution, including products and different services (delivery, installation, etc.).

 Requirements 

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent 
• Proven experience as a sales consultant (hardware advantageous)
