    ICS Security Engineer (Port Elizabeth)

    NOV is seeking a self-motivated ICS Security Engineer to join the Rig Technologies team. The successful candidate will work directly with technical leaders across the digital products group in the selection, deployment, and validation of cybersecurity controls to reduce exposure and ensure security and compliance requirements are maintained.

    The position also entails analyzing our product groups' network designs and software implementations as specified for our customer’s requirements. This position will ensure that controls are relevant, properly documented, and maintained for associated products and services.

     DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate internally and externally with business organizations to create solutions meeting our customer needs while minimizing Cyber security risks.
    • Guide technical leaders and business functions on OT network architecture, Compliance, and security-related matters.
    • Develop, document, and execute cybersecurity execution plans and schedules.
    • Triage and address security alerts reported by OT security systems
    • Continually develop OT vulnerability and remediation capability to drive faster patching and mitigation cycles
    • Evaluate and make recommendations to continuously improve the cybersecurity posture of digital products.
    • Analyze network designs and software implementation
    • Proactively identify risks and active threats to the OT systems, and applications
    • Perform incident response tasks including evidence preservation, forensics, and malware/exploit analysis
    • Participate in developing and implementing new products to ensure the design and functionality required to support security and compliance.
    • Develop and maintain cyber security technical documentation and guidelines.
    • Conduct OT security workshops and awareness training sessions as required.
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
    • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
    • Security or OT-related certifications are strongly desired. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, and/or other information security-related certifications also a plus.
    • 3 years of work experience in information security or compliance frameworks.
    • Knowledge of design, deployment, and assessment of DCS/SCADA systems.
    • Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wago), Embedded Windows, Embedded Linux, and RTOS control systems.
    • Experience with industrial network protocols such as Modbus, PROFINET, OPC, EtherCAT.
    • Experience with Windows Servers, Linux/UNIX, enterprise anti-virus, endpoint security, application whitelisting technologies, SIEM, logging configurations, IDS/IPS, authentication methods, TCP/IP, packet capture, and analysis

    Hydraulics Engineer (Equipment Controls) (Port Elizabeth)

     

    As Hydraulic Engineer you will be joining our Port Elizabeth team responsible for hydraulic design and technical documentation on various equipment for new and existing markets. Our customers are oil and rig companies, rig operators and renewable-energy industry.  We have a broadly composed professional environment with heavy expertise in the following disciplines: Mechanical, hydraulics, pipe design & layout, automation, electrical / instrumentation as well as structure calculation. 

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design and calculation of hydraulic systems and components in accordance with international standards and regulations 
    • Prepare Hydraulics Flow Diagram, bills of material, technical documentation, and test procedures and engineering reports
    • Contribute to standardization of hydraulic system / components and conduct improved quality, environment, and safety
    • Comply with and perform NOV Quality Management System processes and procedures 
    • The positions also include versatile and varied engineering work, a close cooperation with other departments and disciplines within NOV 
    • Some travel activities will be expected

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • We are looking for engineers with a Master's or Bachelor's education (Mechanical/Mechatronics) or other equivalent and relevant experience

    SKILLS, TRAINING, OR SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

    • Understanding of hydraulic theory and the ability to apply knowledge in the design of hydraulic circuits 
    • Hydraulic experience theoretical and practical with land and offshore drill floor and auxiliary equipment preferred (Desirable)

    • Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and computer skills (Essential)

    Application Support Analyst (Port Elizabeth)

     

    NOV is seeking a self-motivated Data and configuration Analyst to join the Rig Technologies team. The successful candidate will work directly with the technical team in the Connected Products group and will serve as the technical reference to ensure the performance and availability of our online solutions in NOV development, test, and production environments.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs installation, configuration, and upgrades of the Connected Product solutions.
    • Monitors solution performance/availability; suggest alternative approaches when applicable.
    • Works with the Connected Product Development Team to troubleshoot issues reported by the customers/stakeholders; record the issues in the ticketing system.
    • Documents the implemented solution, bug fixes, etc. and create troubleshooting documents
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Temp Project Planner (Port Elizabeth)

    NOV Rig Aftermarket South Africa is seeking a temp Project Planner. As a Project Planner you will support the Service management to plan, coordinate and monitor Field Service projects in an efficient and effective manner, through project planning and administrative support responsibilities.

    Quality Control Supervisor (Port Elizabeth)

     

    NOV South Africa is seeking a qualified and experienced Quality Control Supervisor. As a QC Supervisor you will play a key role in providing continual evaluation of the Repair departments quality processes and methods, and assure the most effective use of resources and equipment in the Quality Control department.

    You will lead the Quality Control team, encouraging positive open discussions on component deficiencies, safety, quality processes and specifications, with the objective of continuous Improvement.  

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure all company policies surrounding stock, health, safety, quality and housekeeping are maintained
    • Provide day to day supervision of employee job execution, to include training, performance evaluation and employee relations
    • Perform quality control inspection as required to support operations
    • Continually monitor and control inspection operations to ensure compliance with applicable quality control documents and relevant procedures
    • Ensuring all updates are captured by QC personnel on the approved Planning platform 
    • Cost analysis of jobs pertaining to QC processes
    • Quotation on hours for future work scopes in collaboration with Estimator / Planning department
    • Raise, monitor and review NCR’s, CAR, PAR, Pi’s, Risks on QMS platforms. 
    • Review non conformances and determine and take the most appropriate action utilizing all available data sources, experience and knowledge. Work with engineering, suppliers, Quality team on disposition and analysis of NCR’s as required.
    • Ensure implementation of all Specifications / Codes / licensee documentation as required. 
    • Facilitating internal and external audits for the department
    • Ensuring shop packets / routers / ITP’s / QP’s are completed in full at all inspection stages

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, manufacturing, quality management

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5 years work experience in quality control or a related inspection role. 
    • A thorough working knowledge of some / all of welding, NDE, dimensional and coating inspection is required.
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems and intermediate computer skills is required.
    • Working experience in the Oil and Gas industry, as well as  a role with leadership experience, is beneficial.

    • Good decision making skills and leadership skills

    Field Service Engineer - Mechanical(Port Elizabeth)

    NOV Rig Aftermarket South Africa is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer.  In this role you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of NOV Rig Equipment globally both offshore and onshore. As part of our Aftermarket Service group, you will make recommendations to customers which ensures equipment continuously operates at efficient and profitable levels.

    You will support products ranging from Rig Floor Equipment (RFE), Legacy National Equipment (NOI), Pressure Control Equipment (PCE) and Cranes (M&C). As a Field Service Engineer within NOV RA, you will be homebased within South Africa and be expected to travel globally on an ad-hoc basis. You will receive training on NOV product lines and gain on the job training accompanied by experienced NOV Field Service Engineers. Key to this role and your development will be your participation in the NOV Global Competency Program. Your existing experience will ideally be within the heavy engineering and/or industry, where you have been responsible for the maintenance and servicing of equipment. Developing our business goes hand in hand with developing our people’s skills, therefore, with the support of the Service Supervisors and Managers, you will be open to career progression and continued self-development to reach personal and business goals.

    DUTIES &  RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Service, repair, overhaul, inspect and identify faults on NOV Rig Equipment on a global basis.
    • Support I&C projects as required. 
    • Make recommendations on improving product and systems efficiency, maintaining continuous and high levels of operation.
    • Report and update relevant documentation including daily reports, survey reports, parts lists and service reports.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to identify and correct faults, redline drawings/schematics.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders including Customers, Colleagues and other NOV entities. 
    • Escalate key faults or product failures to relevant department and progress through to resolution. 
    • Maintain effective communication with customers giving regular status update reports.

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

    • Time served Engineer. 
    • Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics etc.) or equivalent. Skills and Experience:

    • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
