    Engineering Interns - SI EA (Midrand)

    Role Headline

    • Acquires and learns practical knowledge and working experience in different technical fields of expertise, in the course of an academic education.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    • Works as part-time or vacation temporary help in different technical tasks and operations.
    •  Performs all operations, measures, activities and tasks as assigned by accountable management or supervisor.
    •  Learns and acquires respective theory and know how, techniques, methods, tools and processes in the respective area.
    •  Supports other qualified staff in their tasks and accountabilities.  
    •  Gathers and files information gained in routine customer contact calls.
    •  Handling inbound calls, in basic 1st level support situations, while handling majority of request in the basis of given procedures.
    •  Outbound calls, operating with given frame of structured information requested.
    •  Positions are expected to use specialized machines, tools and equipment for effective performance, which allows specific variances in operation mode.
    •  Work routines are repetitive by nature but may take some seconds to some minutes each.
    •  Floor Assembly operator - Electric / Mechanic / Semi-products, Team Assistant                                

    Attributes and skills

    •  Substation transmission, generation and distribution project experiences  -  Electrical design projects including automation, infrastructure, LV/MV electrical distribution, variable speed drives, networking structures and information technology  
    • Technical lead on project with overall technical responsibility  
    • Site commissioning experience

    Qualification and Experience:

    •  Minimum qualification - ND in Electrical Engineering /BSc. Or B. Eng. Electrical, registered as Pr. Eng. Candidate.
    • Practical site experience in Transmission, Generation and Distribution systems: 0 -1 years

    Project Manager External - GSW (Midrand)

    Role Headline

    • Project Managers are responsible for the design, development, and management of customer projects, according to defined Project Management (PM@Siemens) standards and customer requirements, with responsibility for economic results.

    Responsibilities of the Role 

    • Consults with customers on technical solutions, together with the Sales Manager or Key Account Manager. 
    •  Clarifies customers´ targets and requirements, and/or specification in request for proposal (RFP). 
    •  Prepares participation in tender and leads negotiation with customers. 
    •  Coordinates overall planning of the project and decides on allocation of resources.
    •  Clarifies specification and continuously liaises with other internal departments involved ensuring clear KPI’s for all team members. 
    •  Monitors milestone and adherence to budgets, and initiates actions to minimize non-conformance cost.
    •  Reviews project risks and ensures that appropriate mitigation measures are put in place by following the contractual claims procedure to maximise opportunities. 
    •  Maintains constant communication to customers, outside contractors or other stakeholders with minutes of meetings being distributed to all relevant parties.
    •  May coordinate agreed commissioning measures onsite, together with Engineering.
    •  Adheres to PM standards and Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g., Tax regulations, Export Control, EHS, Quality Control).
    •  Manages and coordinates all temporarily assigned project staff.                                                        

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Relevant tertiary Degree/Diploma, preferably an Electrical Engineering qualification or similar.
    •  A South African recognised Project Management qualification or PM@siemens certification.
    •  Must have min 3-5 years’ experience with NEC3.
    •  FIDIC experience would be advantageous.
    •  Metering software solution project experience would be advantageous.
    •  Cross Border Project Management Experience Advantageous.
    •  5-8 ears’ experience in project management with full profit and loss responsibility.

    Tender Proposal Engineer -Siemens Mobility (SMO)

    Role Headline

    Manages general budgeting, accounting and reporting operations in all segments related to projects finances area(s), other accountabilities to directly support effective and profitable Business (Sub) Segment management.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    •  Supports accountable Sales Management, provides advice and proposes measures regarding Business Administration.
    •  Supports implementation of financial and business administration policies, standards and procedures, for the assigned organization unit. 
    •  Accomplishes financial analysis, planning and controlling activities and all related business administration activities. 
    •  Completes consolidation of all accounting, financial reporting and other finance related operations (incl. P&L reporting and Balance).
    •  Supports effective treasury management, optimized capital financing structure and tax compliance management.
    •  Checks content and analyses supplier and/ customer contracts, to ensure compliant and standardized contract management.
    •  Analyses and provides recommendation regarding capital expenditure proposals. 
    •  Supports in the preparation of complex bids or tenders for project business.

    Qualification and Experience:

    •  Degree/Diploma in Financial field/Business Management
    •  Minimum 5-8 years of experience 
    •  Sales commercial experience within a rail industry
    •  Quantity surveying with accounting will be an advantage
    •  Prior experience in NEC/FIDIC Contract management
    •  Advanced excel skills and working knowledge is a must.
