    Research Project Receptionist _ Flow Manager - Ehlanzeni

    Purpose of the position:

    • The Research Project Receptionist and Flow Manager is responsible for welcoming participants to the study site; coordinating participant flow through stages of research study visits. This will be part of a biobehavioural survey among people who inject drugs

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 / matric
    • Office Administration qualification would be an advantage
    • Minimum 2 years working experience within a similar environment coupled with demonstrated administrative knowledge and experience
    • Knowledge and experience in working / research with key populations, ideally with people who use drugs
    • Proficiency in English and any other African language

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Check validity of study coupons
    • Register the person’s fingerprint into the coupon management system
    • Provide participants with client files
    • Provide numbers and maintain order that other study team members need to see participants
    • Guide participants to various staff members / locations during study procedures
    • Communicate and engage with participants, making them welcome and comfortable
    • Preparing client files containing study documents to be completed at various study procedures
    • Accurately capture responses from participants
    • Participate in study and site related meetings
    • Support data cleaning and checking processes
    • Support maintenance of appropriate files
    • Support maintenance of diary and appointment scheduling
    • Maintain records

    Professional Nurse Counsellor: Southern Suburbs, Western Cape

    Purpose of the position:

    • To provide a comprehensive Wellness mobile health service by providing HIV testing and counselling services linked to screening and diagnosing clients for TB/STI’s. Provision of treatment and clinical care to HIV & TB patients and ensure successful linkage to care and adherence with specific focused on key populations

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Degree/Diploma in Nursing qualification
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in nursing, post registration
    • NIMART accreditation would be an advantage
    • Clinical HIV management experience is mandatory
    • Previous coordination/management role and experience working with key populations would be a great advantage
    • Clear criminal record
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Proficiency in English and isiXhosa; fluency in Afrikaans is advantageous
    • Valid code 8 driver’s licence preferred

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Coordinate and conduct outreach HIV, TB and STI services in the community, workplace, correctional services, farms schools and DOH facilities 
    • Provide an enhanced appropriate package of treatment, care and support of clients diagnosed with HIV, TB, STI’s, and other health related conditions 
    • Ensure successful referrals and linkage to care of 95% of key populations affected by HIV or TB
    • Conduct sensitisation training and secure the provision of KP friendly services at nominated sites, in consultation with WCG and other officials
    • Ensure period reporting is conducted in line with WCG and internal organisational norms and standards
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to scale up TB/HIV service provision to key populations
    • Maintain relations with health services and other NGO’s working to support program
    • Participate in key populations work’s support meetings and structures as directed by the WCG project manager
