    Electrical Specialist

    Key Responsibilities:

    Plant Support

    • Comply with company and plant rules, participate in safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
    • Maintain and support electrical maintenance for making and packaging equipment.
    • Perform overhaul, repair, and maintenance tasks, including during plant shutdowns.
    • Repair equipment breakdowns and complete work within the plant’s SAP system.
    • Serve on improvement teams and assist with emergency repairs.
    • Provide support for project work and electrical needs.
    • Research ongoing problems and perform project work as directed.
    • Coach and develop the electrical engineering skills of maintenance staff.
    • Act as subject matter experts on electrical circuits, fault finding, repair, installation, and other electrical and instrumentation-related items.
    • Make recommendations to the Project team.

    Administration

    • Complete all required documentation to standard.

    Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE)

    • Ensure adherence to company safety rules and regulations.
    • Implement and maintain Unilever safety and 5S standards.

    Autonomous Maintenance (AM)

    • Complete tags in the area of responsibility to the required completion ratio.

    Technical Skills and Maintenance

    • Develop maintenance standards (SMP, Machine Ledger, PM Calendar) for assigned lines to deliver zero breakdowns.
    • Implement Preventive Maintenance processes and execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
    • Build basic maintenance skills of Technical Operators and Machine Operators.
    • Monitor spare parts inventory and document maintenance activities.
    • Serve as the Preventive Maintenance Specialist and use various maintenance strategies to achieve zero breakdowns.
    • Troubleshoot equipment and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
    • Ensure compliance with Safety & Quality Protocols during maintenance activities.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical skills and electrical skills, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing electrical components.
    • Understand and adhere to Process Safety Management (PSM) Program for Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
    • Work with Cell Leader and FI Engineer to conduct daily performance reviews and plan priorities.
    • Prepare and facilitate Standard, Major, and Advanced Kaizens.
    • Align with People Development Pillar to deliver training.

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • N5 Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Trade Test (or equivalent)
    • 5-10 years relevant experience in a maintenance environment
    • PLC/DCS troubleshooting
    • PC skills (SAP, Access, Outlook, Excel (Word).

    Focused Technician: PACK

    Key Responsibilities

    • Uses knowledge and application of technical skill and expertise to develop maintenance standards (SMP, Machine Ledger, PM Calendar, etc) for assigned lines, deliver zero breakdowns, and plan and execute all maintenance activities. Directly contributes to improved safety, quality, sustainability, and cost.
    • Ensures the implementation of Preventive Maintenance process in assigned cell under R2S set-up.
    • Executes planned and unplanned maintenance activities in assigned lines during his/her shift and through the SST or MST outside his/her shift.
    • Builds the basic maintenance skills of Technical Operators and Machine Operators by teaching the principles of operation of the equipment and proper maintenance procedures.
    • Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure required parts for the maintenance works.
    • Documents all maintenance activities required for daily reports i.e. EWO, Maintenance Compliance Report
    • Serves as the Preventive Maintenance Specialist and user of different types of maintenance strategies (Time Based, Condition Based Maintenance) to achieve glidepath towards “Zero” Breakdown
    • Troubleshoots the equipment in assigned lines but at the same time reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
    • Ensures compliance to all Safety & Quality Protocols during maintenance activities
    • Demonstrates high level of proficiency on Mechanical Skills covering but not limited to drive & transmission systems, pneumatics, valves, structural supports, levers and fasteners

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation
    • Preferably, Licensed ME, EE or Certified Plant Mechanic
    • Completed formal education in at least 2 of 3 relevant engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control
    • At least 3 years relevant work experience as part of an extended team within the manufacturing sector

    In-Service Trainee - Quality

    JOB SUMMARY

    Operational

    • Carry out on line trouble shooting to identify product quality issues and generating of NCA in the event that quality defects are identified.  
    • Carry out monthly checks discarding retention samples that are older than the specified retention period plus one-month.
    • Maintain an environment of 5s within retention storage area.
    • Participate in taste panels as approved tester and make decisions on status of products in terms of acceptance or rejection. (Mandatory that person does not smoke due to the negative effect this has on sensory evaluation which is a key component of the job) 
    • Retrieval of samples from retention location and setting-up against Customer complaint sample and preparing all the necessary forms for evaluation. 
    • Evaluating customer complaints against standards and completing evaluation documentation.
    • Prepare and write reports for consumer services team regarding investigated complaints
    • Review of ex-factory CRQS data, entry onto SAP and trend and analyse reports
    • Trending and analysing of CRQS EOLAS reports
    • Lead problem solving kaizens derived from Q prioritization matrix to obtain zero defects.

    Administrative

    • Daily filling of all reports/forms as listed below·
    • Retention Sample Register and generating of NCA's.
    • Weekly reporting consumer/customer complaints
    • Kaizen review and archiving of documentation to take place every two months.
    • Interact with QC technicians ensuring that information regarding non-conformance is logged and addressed.
    • Interact with production in the communications of quality problems identified in the packing process (during shift handovers)
    • Run all consumer and customer complaint investigations and generates reports for CEC feedback.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric with Maths & Physical Science
    • Working towards Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Biotechnology
    • S4 (Completing or in final year)
    • Requiring 1-year in-service training
    • Candidates need to provide their Matric Certificate and Academic Transcript with their CV’s
    • Basic computer literacy, i.e.: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • 1 -3yrs working experience in FMCG manufacturing
    • Fully Operational in WCM QC tools and methodology
    • Working Knowledge of HACCP and GMP's.
    • Working Knowledge of OHS act and safe operating procedures.
    • Ability to analyze data and information

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Bsc in Mechanical Engineering
    • 5 years Packaging and Plastic technology Production Engineer with solid WCM or Lean Manufacturing experience within FMCG/ Motor/ Manufacturing industries
    • Proficient Optimisation/ SOP’s and WCM/ Lean Manufacturing experience essential
    • Must have High Speed Packaging experience
    • Must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge across all the site’s processes and lines
    • Must possess strong engineering leadership credentials with a proven ability to eliminate loss and waste on significant projects
    • Must demonstrate a flair for improvement engineering and coaching
    • Project Management experience
    • Understanding of Quality Management systems, GMP and Change management process
    • Statistics and process control tools experience
    • Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Quality and FI tools and processes experience
    • Visualize clearly what the ideal production system
    • Clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standard
