    Engineering Specialist (Painting)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To coordinate the industrial control of the Special Processes (SP) during tender phase, product development, industrialization, manufacturing and warranty.
    • To contribute to technology and activity transfers.

    Main Responsibilities
    Key accountabilities:

    Tender:

    • Contribute to tender phase when required, especially in product design and industrialization to take into account industrial constraints and requirements in order to optimize costs and minimize risks.

    Concurrent Engineering:

    • Contributes during specification and design phases to technical solution decisions associated to special processes.
    • Build the Special Process REX and interact with product engineering to redirect the design if necessary.

    Industrialization:

    • Manage industrial risk through Process FMEA and associated improvement action plan.
    • Define requirements and rules for associated tooling necessary to start production.
    • Qualify the product/process pair as well as industrial means to be put in place in line with the design.
    • Support sourcing and Supplier Quality Development teams in the suppliers’ qualification and in quality follow up for suppliers concerned by Special Process. Contribute to development of local suppliers.
    • Manage evolution of quality control process dedicated to Special Process.
    • Ensure deployment and validation of new processes in line with project planning
    • Issue relevant documents in the Quality System.
    • Manages technicians that are eventually under his responsibility.
    • Perform Transfer of Technology on Special Process: documentation, process and means validation, training.

    Transmission:

    • Train the workers and EPU managers and Industrial Quality Inspectors to execute Special Process.
    • Ensure continuous training and permanent qualification of the workers to Special Process.
    • Train support functions to business rules linked to Special Process (Engineering, PME, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality)

    Execution / Serial manufacturing:

    • Guarantees internal control and good application of process rules in line with customers’ requirements.
    • Thus performs internal and external audits.
    • Ensure day to day monitoring of Special Process business rules and solve issues concerning Special Process.
    • In case of non-conformity or incident, investigate root causes, finds and implement repair solutions.
    • Demonstrate Quality, Cost, Delivery and Environment, Health and Safety improvement linked to Special Process through efficient action plans. Measure performance linked with site industrial objectives and through APSYS audit for instance.
    • Support Sourcing and Supplier Quality teams during quality crisis.

    Transverse

    • Participate to meetings and working groups of the Special Process network and Standards committee
    • Propose improvement ideas and evolution of the business rules of their domain.

    Responsibilities

    • In case of major Special Process quality crisis (major technical risk, safety or financial), the expert must provide to the project manager, factually, a clear problem analysis (root causes, associated risks) and the options to exit the crisis, to enable him taking serenely position.
    • He has the duty to control his external communication (written and oral) as it engages the responsibility of AT towards third parties.

    Performance measurements :

    • Manufacturing and Quality documents are available in due time and to the good quality level.
    • Qualification reports of operating modes are issued in line with the planning.
    • Zero non conformity during internal or external audits.
    • Level of deployment of Special Process standards rules
    • Contribution to site industrial QCD targets.
    • Reactivity and consistency during expertise during defect or incident.
    • FAI validated for all installations involving Special Process and flagged as “technical or industrial risk” before GSR (Serial Go)

    Main Required Competences
    Educational Requirements
    Mandatory :

    • Engineering degree in process engineering, mechanical or chemical.
    • Training and Qualification by a third party for Special Process if need be (eg painting / spray painting)

    Desirable:

    • ECSA registration as Professional Engineer

    Experience
    Mandatory:

    • 10 years’ experience in industrial methods
    • Practice the special process in question from 5 to 10 years (execution, definition, qualification)
    • Is officially recognised as expert by the Special Process central coordinator
    • Occupationally fit to work in this environment - see in colour, work in confined spaces, working at hights.
    • Advance MS office skill
    • Advance written and verbal communication in English

    Desirable:

    • Locomotive carbody knowledge
    • Has been trained to AT Special Process standard training.

    Crane Driver

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Be able to understand the functions, safety and suitability of the crane prior to utilization in the manufacturing industry. Be also able to inspect and record the operational fitness of the components of a crane and be able to access available support systems and emergency services in case of incidents and accidents while operating an overhead/gantry crane.

    Main Responsabilities
    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Apply the recognised methods for inspecting & recording the operational fitness of all components of the crane.
    • Operate a pendant and cabin controlled crane.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the functions of a crane.
    • Identify the safety and suitability of the crane type prior to utilisation.
    • Inspect and record the operational fitness of the components of a crane.
    • Operate an overhead crane in a safe and competent manner.
    • Access available support systems and emergency services in case of incidents and accidents.

    • Convey load by means of lifting equipment

    Material Planning Officer

    Main Objective:

    • The purpose of the job is for the successful candidate to communicate delivery schedules (call off) to suppliers based on MRP system requirements and collect daily their commitments. He/she will monitor all gaps to anticipate and treat missing parts with key suppliers. Is also responsible for all activities pertaining to the parameters review, procurement and materials planning for production.

    Technical Trainer: Fitting & Turning

    Purpose of the job

    • The incumbent will be required to apply various training and development initiatives to support the Technical Training Department’s mandate of ensuring a seamless supply of skills and employee development for Production related training, learners in both Learnerships, Apprenticeships Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) and Artisan development.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Identifies training needs and certification requirements relevant to the Technical Training Centre.
    • Plans and directs classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences and workshops.
    • Prepares and conducts technical training programs using recognized training techniques and tools.
    • Prepares training material and classroom agenda.
    • Implements and monitors Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning programme for selected learners.
    • Evaluates and. enhances technical instructional delivery on continuous basis
    • Ensures the quality and consistency of course content throughout the life cycle of a course.
    • Manages the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and the technical training QMS.
    • Ensures apprentices/learners are competent in all the required training modules.
    • Prepares apprentices for trade tests.
    • Identifies internal and external technical training programs to address competency/learning gaps.

    • 6 years post-Apprenticeship experience in Fitting & Turning. At least 2 years of those shall be as a Qualified artisan Fitter & Turner gained in manufacturing (preferably rail or automotive).
    • Minimum 2 years experience as a Technical Trainer
    • Experience in the development of theoretical and practical learning resources and assessment
    • Comprehensive computer skills (MS Office suite, Internet and Email)
