    Crisis and Business Continuity Management Specialist - Cape Town

    What you'll have done before

    Baseline

    • NQF level 7 (Degree in Risk Management/ Engineering/ Finance/ Economics/ IT/ Law / Management/ Business Studies /Science.
    • IRMSA: Institute of Risk Management South Africa, and/or BCI: Business Continuity Institute
    • 5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry, within risk management, crisis, and business continuity management.
    • A solid business/industry knowledge including energy sector to ensure credible engagement with key stakeholders.

    Advantageous:

    • Postgraduate in Risk Management/ Professional Certifications e.g. Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).

    What you'll be doing

    BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT

    Facilitate the development of business impact analysis (BIA):

    • Identify the Critical Business Functions, 
    • Assess the impact of unavailability of these critical functions over a period and, 
    • Identify and agree the Minimum Resource Requirements (MRR) to be allocated to recover and resume these functions, in line with the BCM framework and its supporting guidelines.
    • Facilitate the identification of continuity and recovery strategies by utilizing data collected during the BIA and risk evaluation for Engen’s operations that will meet the recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO).
    • Develop Business Continuity Plans (BCP) by designing and implementing the approved continuity strategies and document the recovery plans to be used in response to business disruption events.
    • Plan, coordinate and conduct BCP testing & exercise for Engen and its affiliates.

    INTERGRATED CRISIS MANAGEMENT (CM)

    • Plan, coordinate and monitor implementation of the integrated Crisis Management Plan (iCMP) for the Engen group.
    • Ensure the respective 12 Focus Risk Areas, establish Crisis Response Plans.
    • Review the iCMP to ensure it remains relevant.
    • Facilitate Testing & Exercise (T&E) of the Crisis Management Plan to validate robustness and ensure crisis response capability in line with the CM framework and its supporting guidelines.

    RISK SYSTEMS AND REPORTING

    • Execute and facilitate the implementation of BCM System e.g., (INTERISK)
    • Facilitate engagements with BCM coordinators, role players in critical business functions and key stakeholders.
    • Plan and conduct CM and BCM reporting to key stakeholders.

    CAPABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

    • Execute and facilitate CM and BCM knowledge building by conducting training and continuous crisis and business continuity awareness activities.

    • Maximizing Engineering project control by timely processing of requisitions & invoices and to follow up on active orders
    • Streamline project expenditure by ensuring the supplier and contractor payments are processed timeously
