    Associate Director – Compensation Payroll & Benefits

    PURPOSE OF JOB

    • The Associate Director – Payroll & Benefits is responsible for developing and implementing the Group’s payroll and benefits strategies on a global scale. This role will lead the Payroll and Benefits team across multiple jurisdictions as well as relationships with external providers.  The Associate Director will also work closely with the Head of Reward on all payroll and benefits activities, and ensuring JTC remains an Employer of Choice through payroll and benefits initiatives.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    STRATEGY AND TEAM

    • Develop and deliver a Payroll and Benefits strategy that supports the Group’s goals and values and plays a key role in how JTC attracts and retains employees.
    • Oversee the effective delivery of the Payroll and Benefits provision in line with the reward strategy.
    • Lead, coach, develop and motivate the Payroll and Benefits team members, lead monthly team meetings and mentor junior staff members.
    • Oversee the Payroll and Benefits aspects relating to acquisitions and new offices.
    • Monitor legislation for ongoing and proposed changes on laws and regulations related to Payroll and Benefits in various countries and communicate changes to internal stakeholders as necessary.
    • Work closely with the HR team to support on matters relating to global mobility and secondments, providing sound knowledge, guidance and resources.
    • Provide meaningful statistics, management information and analytics in relation to Payroll and Benefits, including DE&I reporting.

    PAYROLL

    • Responsible for the oversight and provision of the Group’s payroll function across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Lead the implementation of JTC’s new global payroll provider, ADP. Ensure the project is delivered on time and a seamless transition for existing providers.
    • Ensure the design and delivery of payroll processes across the Group are robust and efficient to minimise any risk to the Group; review and sign off monthly payrolls and ensure any absences are managed to ensure payroll deadlines are met.
    • Ensure all tax related matters regarding application, reporting submissions and payments are managed in line with local requirements.

    BENFEITS

    • Responsible for the provision of the Group’s benefit and wellbeing offering, ensuring it remains competitive, fit for purpose, and where possible in line with market expectations.
    • Lead the implementation of JTC’s new global benefits broker. Ensure the project is delivered on time and a seamless transition for existing providers.
    • Oversee the design and delivery of competitive, equitable, and legally compliant benefits programs, including health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, and other benefits.
    • Lead market research, benchmarking and analyse internal data to ensure that benefits programs are competitive and meet industry standards across various geographies and cultures as well as ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
    • Ensure all strategies and policies are focused on diversity and inclusiveness to ensure accessibility and equality of approach to all employees and that they are in compliance with laws and regulations in various countries.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors, including payroll consultants, benefits/payroll providers, and other third-party vendors.

    WELLBEING

    • Develop and improve current wellbeing strategy and program, using information received from wellbeing and engagement surveys and aligning to the Group’s values and goals.

    GENERAL

    • Actively contribute and be a key member of a multi-jurisdictional HR team building effective working relationships to ensure procedures are accurately followed, allowing for continuity of service during busy periods or times of absence.
    • Maintain the highest standard of confidentiality and security in terms of employee data and business information. Treat all HR data in line with GDPR and maintain an ongoing awareness of GDPR legislation.
    • Uphold the professional standards expected of an HR practitioner and act as a role model of excellence with all clients, internally and externally.
    • Maintain accuracy when handling either employee or company specific data and ensure that the integrity of process is maintained.
    • Contribute to the wider HR team, supporting ad hoc projects, exchanging knowledge and supporting standards of good practice.
    • Develop self and maintain knowledge in relevant field at all times.
    •  Consistently demonstrate JTC core values and expected behaviours.
    • Adhere to Risk & Compliance procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation.
    • Adhere to CPD requirements in accordance with qualification level.
    • Any other duties as deemed necessary by Management.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • 10+ years of experience in payroll and benefits or similar within a Professional Services organisation, including experience in a leadership role.
    • Accounting qualification or a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.  
    • Strong understanding of global payroll and benefit principles, practices, and regulations, including gender pay gap reporting requirements and statutory pay requirements where applicable.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across various geographies and cultures.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner.
    • Experience with global payroll and benefits software and systems.

    Administrator – Fund Accountant – Fund Services

    PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To collate, calculate, process, investigate and check fund information in order to produce the Net Asset Values for the specific Funds which JTC administers within defined deadlines and regulatory requirements.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare, monitor and capture cash movements (cash management), investment trades and update transactions on the accounting system to ensure an accurate and timely delivery of the NAV.
    • Prepare and perform weekly/daily cash and stock reconciliations including proper investigation of all outstanding issues to ensure a timely resolution of any reconciling differences and no NAV errors occur.
    • Monitor daily/monthly asset pricing and pricing sources for corporate actions to ensure securities are updated and valued correctly on the accounting system and no asset pricing errors occur in the valuation.
    • Perform and check weekly/daily expense and accrual calculations to ensure that they are reflected correctly in the Net Asset value calculation.
    • Prepare and produce an accurate NAV to ensure Reviewers discover no errors on work reviewed resulting in the timely delivery of the NAV’s.
    • Proactively investigate queries with dealers; brokers; custodians; auditors and clients to ensure a timely resolution of all queries. Where applicable to communicate and escalate potential issues in a prompt and effective manner.
    • Understand and implement company policies and procedures; client service level agreements and internal controls to ensure compliance thereof and no Custodian or external audit findings occur as a result of them not being applied.
    • Monitor and perform weekly/monthly compliance checks to ensure all scheme particulars are adhered to and no concern is raised in Compliance’s reviews and reports.
    • Prepare and send out all valuation e-mails to a pre-defined distribution list to ensure all parties have been timely informed of the NAV.
    • Prepare and complete all quarterly statutory returns to ensure specific funds regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
    • Accurately update and maintain the relevant sections in the delivery matrix to ensure all parties are aware of what has been completed and Oversight can promptly review the NAV where required.
    • Monitor client mailboxes on a daily basis be resolving queries where possible or escalating where required.
    • Assist supervisors during audits by providing supporting documents, reconciliations and reports to auditors where required.
    • Maintain investor registers and ensure only authorized changes are made and that these are done in a timely manner.
    • Subject to client approvals, respond to any investor queries that may arise.
    • Prepare drawdown and distribution notices where requested from the General Partner.
    • Prepare capital account statements.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Excellent numeracy skills.
    • High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
    • Works well under pressure.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • A relevant tertiary qualification including Accounting; Finance; Investments.
    • Completed 3-year SAICA/SAIPA articles.
    • Relevant experience in a similar role in financial services.

    Senior Fund Accountant – Jersey Team

    PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To collate, calculate, process, investigate and check fund information including being a B signatory in order to produce and sign off the accounts / net asset valuations (nav) of the specific funds/entities which JTC administers within defined deadlines and within regulatory requirements.
    • To draft financial statements and other financial related disclosures for client entities accurately in line with International Accounting standards and/ or GAAP on a timely basis, in accordance with the most relevant accounting standards and client driven requirements.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Prepare, monitor and capture cash movements (cash management), investment trades and update transactions in InvestOne / Investran to ensure an accurate and timely delivery of the Accounts / NAV.
    • Prepare and perform weekly / monthly cash and stock reconciliations including proper investigation of all outstanding issues to ensure a timely resolution of any reconciling differences and no valuation errors occur.
    • Monitor asset pricing and pricing sources for corporate actions to ensure securities are updated and valued correctly on InvestOne / Investran and no asset pricing errors occur within the Accounts / NAV.
    • Perform and check expense and accrual calculations to ensure that they are reflected correctly in the Accounts / NAV.
    • Familiarity with Capital Calls, distributions, equalisations and waterfall calculations experience desired.
    • Prepare and produce an accurate NAV to ensure Checkers or Supervisor discover no errors on work reviewed resulting in the timely delivery of the Accounts / NAV.
    • Proactively investigate queries with dealers; brokers; custodians; auditors and clients to ensure a timely resolution of all queries. Where applicable to communicate and escalate potential issues in a prompt and effective manner.
    • Understand and implement company policies and procedures; client service level agreements and internal controls to ensure compliance thereof and no Custodian and external audit findings occur because of them not being applied.
    • Prepare and send out all valuation e-mails to a pre-defined distribution list to ensure all parties have been timely informed of the valuation.
    • To produce financial statements for portfolio of clients in accordance with the applicable financial standards, and to ensure that the accounts are produced in accordance with the regulatory deadlines and the deadlines agreed with the client.
    • To project manage the client audit process internally according to an agreed timetable to ensure all parties are delivering as agreed and the manager or supervisor is informed of any obstacles and/or delays.
    • Attend pre and post audit meetings to ensure audit planning, comments and recommendations as well as any post audit adjustments to be made to valuations are discussed.
    • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and providing quality service to clients under the assigned portfolio.
    • Prepare and complete all monthly/quarterly KPI spreadsheets and/or statutory returns to ensure specific funds regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
    • Accurately update and maintain the relevant sections in the delivery matrix to ensure all parties are aware of what has been completed, and Oversight can promptly review the NAV where required.
    • Prepare and complete all sundry administrative tasks, including (but not limited to) accurate / timely time recording and filing of Accounts / NAV within Viewpoint.
    • Coach and supervise other Fund Accountants in the same team to ensure all procedures are adhered to and feedback can be provided to the Manager for yearly reviews.
    • Prepare accurate payment instructions and provide to checker for authorisation in a timely manner.
    • Check and authorise payments (as a B Signatory) to ensure the correct amounts are instructed.
    • Check and approve valuations (as a B Signatory) to ensure all information and calculations have been correctly collated.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • A relevant tertiary qualification preferably including accounting; finance; investments.
    • Good accounting and investment product knowledge.
    • Minimum of 2 to 5 years investment fund administration or related experience.
    • Experience drafting financial statements with appropriate knowledge of accounting standards.
    • Excellent numeracy skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
