EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• At least 2 years of underground related experience.
• Effective communication and contributing to teamwork success.
• Knowledge of Trackless Mining
• Excellent driving skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Attention to details and accuracy in recording and reporting
• Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act and regulations
• Knowledge of Codes of Practice and working guides.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Participate and comply with SHEQT requirements (she Toolbox)
• Ensure that the right material is transported to the right sections underground.
• Load and offload the material and explosives at the required place on the UV transport underground.
• Adherent to transport procedures and code of practice

• Assisting with administrative tasks associated with Procedure writing, Development of Learning material and Planned task observations
• Assisting in setting up of Learner Management system
• Assisting with the maintenance of the Intelex SHE Management system
• General SHEQT administrative duties

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• 3 years underground experience as an Auto Electrician on trackless equipment
• At least 3 years’ underground trackless experience as a qualified Artisan
• Component failure analysis and prevention, equipment installation, repair & maintenance in underground trackless mining section.
• Working knowledge of the Minerals Act & regulations.
• Working knowledge of Codes of Practice & Working Guides
• Lock-out procedures

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Total adherence and compliance with the Safety System.
• Preventative maintenance on TMM LV electrical systems
• Fauld finding and repair on TMM LV electrical systems.
• Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard.
• Undertake training to remain abreast with new developments in the field.
• Continuous improvement of maintenance to ensure improved TMM availability and to optimize stock holding.

• Competent B is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Equipment installation, repair, and maintenance in shaft infrastructure
• Workshop procedures, installation and maintenance
• Legal requirements as per Mine Health and Safety Act with regards to winding plant
• Installation and maintenance of machinery including HT switchgear
• Maintenance of quality engineering standards
• Working knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act and Regulations

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report on all incidents and accidents
• Risk assessments must be carried out for each task
• Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use.
• All legal inspections must be carried out according to the time intervals and true reports are recorded in the record book
• Report and act on all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
• Be responsible for his/her sub-ordinates, maintenance schedule is to be adhered to.
• The individual is responsible for carrying out the planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule
• Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service
• Ensure that the housekeeping in the workshop/working area is adequate to carry out maintenance work.

• At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
• 5 years mining experience
• Have knowledge and skill in applying the basic generic management principles and leading a team
• Understanding of safety requirements to operate the machine
• Ensure quality control and assurance
• Ensure production planning and control
• Root cause analysis expertise

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly supervise the production staff
• Over inspect that pre-use inspections and maintenance are done on mobile units.
• Monitoring and controlling the production process by allocating and managing resources to attain production targets.
• Check daily, weekly & monthly that the production process is caried out in accordance with the contract, legal requirements, work instructions & specifications.
• Maintain a safe work environment by correcting unsafe acts / condition, facilitating safety meetings, looking out for hazards and investigating accidents.

• Understanding of safety requirements to operate the machine
• Understanding of underground mining operations
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cost containment by ensuring machine is operated to best practices with regular basic equipment maintenance
• Conduct starts of shift inspection of the machine and test brakes
• Achieve production targets through safe and effective operation of the LHD.
• Report accurate daily hauling tonnages
• Follow correct tramming procedures
• Effective and efficient loading, hauling, and dumping of blasted rock using correct techniques and line with standards, procedures, and safety protocol.
• Effective teamwork and knowledge sharing, best way to tip and load
• Ensure all inspections are done.
• Ensure all checklists are completed
• Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followed
