    General Engineering Superintendent

    Job Description

    This role is your opportunity to effectively implement the Asset Optimisation Strategy at the Operation. The focus of the role is Operational and Technical. You will report to the Section Engineer- Band 6.
    You will be responsible for the daily implementation of plans to manage Anglo American Coal South Africa’s assets, resources, infrastructure and people in order to achieve planned production targets.
    Maintain safe work practices and a safe work environment while ensuring legal requirements, group working standards and policies regarding engineering are implemented. You will manage and facilitate projects, conduct root cause problem solving, plan and implement inspections and investigate major equipment outages.
    You will also be required to effectively manage people, develop collaborative working relationships, including the production teams. The implement of capital projects will be a deliverable in this role while, providing and seeking input on policies and procedures and managing costs effectively.

    This role is in the Engineering department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Section Engineer

    Qualifications

    • Diploma/ Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Electrical Trade test certificate
    • Certificate in Project Management
    • Minimum 5 years' experience as an Underground Engineering Foreman
    • Good Knowledge of equipment capabilities and practices
    • Computer literate
    • Extensive knowledge on conveyor belts within an Underground Coal Operation
    • Knowledge of Relevant legislation

    Survey Cads Draughtsperson

    Job Description

    As the Survey Cads Draughtsperson you require 3 years experience in a mining environment in an electronic environment Draughting Office with knowledge on AutoCad, Microstation, MineRP, GIS computer systems.

    • You will be responsible for the Geology & Survey activities in compliance with statutory and departmental requirements.
    • Updating of mine development and stoping activities on the mines electronic Draughting system.
    • Assist the Surveyor in constructing mine layouts for short and medium term planning and control purposes.

    This role is in the Mineral Resource Department at a C5 level reporting to the Mine Geology System Supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Chamber of Mines Survey Draughting certificate
    • Advantageous: Basic Survey and Sampling certificates

    We are currently seeking a Wellness Advisor to join our Kumba Iron Ore family. Your knowledge in wellness trends analysis and reporting will help us evaluate our interventions. An empathetic and well-organized individual who is readily available to give counselling to our employees as well as our contractors on site. You will create awareness of various aspects of wellness – emotional, mental and spiritual wellness, physical, social; occupational, financial and environmental wellness. Also our third party service providers are managed by you, to effectively address employee wellness needs by ensuring Work/Life balance. Liaising with other departments regarding the interrelated aspects of employee wellbeing.

    Safety at Anglo American is one of our important values thus you will ensure Quantity of STEPS per month, Pollution incident rate and Compliance. Keep environmental impact within statutory requirements to ensure compliance to statutory requirements are met. We will also rely on your financial skills to manage the Sections budgets to ensure Cost savings, Financial variances and Accuracy of financial information.

    This role is in the Health and Safety department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Occupational Medical Practitioner.

    Qualifications

    • We are looking for someone with 3-5 Years operational Employee Wellness experience and a Post-Grade 12 Qualification in Social work/Psychology. This role will require someone who is registered with a Professional Psychology Association with excellent MS Office skills.
