    Senior Medical Assessor (Midrand)

    Description
    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To provide strategic and operational support for the Aviation Medicine Department aligned to legislative requirements.
    • Oversees the planning and conducting of safety oversight and surveillance on all medical certification processes, public health events in civil aviation, air ambulances, and Cabin Crew First Aid Training procedures as well as evaluating and assessing medical conditions of flight safety significance.
    • Oversight of the Medical Certification Processes and Procedures
    • Identify and initiate regulatory review in line with ICAO and International Best Practice through workshops and submit to CARCOM for approval and promulgation
    • Exercise the powers delegated in terms of the legislation, to authorise or decline the issue of medical certificates.
    • Ensure that accredited medical conclusions are reached,
    • Manages the Aeromedical committee procedures and processes, and compliance to the Terms of Reference
    • Manage the allocation/rotation of complicated medical cases presented to the Aeromedical Committee by the Medical Assessors,
    • Ensures that the agenda and drafting of minutes are of high-quality standards and signed in line with procedure
    • Supervise the medical appeals processes to ensure that they are implemented in line with regulations and that appropriate research is conducted by the specialist before advising the Director
    • Ensure routine collection and analysis of medical findings during medical assessments to identify areas of increased medical risk
    • Continuously re-evaluate the medical assessment process to concentrate on identified areas of increased medical risk
    • Routinely collect and analyse in-flight incapacitation and on active-duty data
    • Conduct research to analyse trends and implement aviation safety intervention strategies
    • Assist the Personnel Licensing division to evaluate foreign medical records for validation of foreign licenses.
    • Management of the enforcement processes related to non-compliant applicants and DAMEs
    • Participate in the training of Aerospace Medicine
    • Initiate enforcement of non-compliant DAMES 
    • Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of   Public Health Events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA)

    Inspector: Meteorology (Midrand)

    Description
    ICAO Compliance Monitoring

    • Monitors and evaluates aeronautical meteorological information, products, facilities, and systems to ensure continuous compliance with safety standards.
    • Continuously monitors and evaluates the capacity and capability of the Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) to meet use requirements and safety objectives.
    • Monitors and evaluates the corrective action plans implemented by the ANSP to effectively resolve safety concerns. 
    • Monitors and evaluates the performance of aeronautical meteorological observing, communication, and remote sensing infrastructure networks.  
    • Monitors and evaluates the performance of weather observation and remote sensing systems, such as weather radars, lightning detection networks, automatic weather observing systems, and web cameras.

    Strengthened Safety, Security and Environmental Safety Oversight System

    • Conducts routine and occasional inspections of aeronautical meteorological information, products, and services.
    • Conducts regular and ad-hoc inspections of procedures, processes, and policies related to the provision of aeronautical meteorological products and services.
    • Conducts regular and ad-hoc inspections of the infrastructure, systems, and tools used to provide aeronautical meteorological information, products, and services.

    Maintenance Officer (Midrand)

    Description
    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To maintain the building facilities and grounds of SACAA building. Initiate, monitor, and perform buildings repairs, and maintenance requirements /improvements. Ensure the client adherences to Health & Safety Regulations.

    Maintenance of building facilities and grounds

    • Proactively inspect SACAA building, plumbing, and electrical on a regular basis
    • Ensure any concerns are highlighted to determine priorities for subsequent maintenance or are upgraded where necessary
    • Arrange and oversee all repairs/installations/ maintenance done by external suppliers are done to acceptable standards
    • Perform basic electrical work, plumbing; aircon repairs and carpentry
    • Execute such work to ensure minimum disruption to the business and where necessary schedule disruptive work for after hours.
    • Accompany external maintenance service provider, and sign off worksheet/invoices of maintenance work completed
    • Respond, when necessary, to emergencies
    • Maintain basic filing system of any instruction manuals/ maintenance job card
    • Oversee cleaning of yards, including gutters and ground maintenance work
    • Conduct Health and Safety Inspection and act as OHS Representative

    Office Maintenance

    • Install all internal fixtures and fittings such as pictures, perform minor repairs on shelving etc

    • Schedule day-to-day maintenance, encompassing cyclical services & maintenance requirements

    AVSEC Stakeholder Relations Specialist (Midrand)

    Description
    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To coordinate the activities of the AVSEC stakeholder relations, including the Facilitation Committee as well as the International Civil Aviation     Organization (ICAO) and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) related engagements. 

    To provide a secretariat function to the National Aviation Security Committee.

    Committee Management

    • National Aviation Security Committee (NASC), Facilitation Committee, ICAO/ AFCAC/ AVSEC Panels and Workgroups.

    Communication to stakeholders:

    • Dissemination of decisions and other communication
    • Act as liaison between SACAA and the Stakeholder Committees and Workgroups.

    Reporting:

    • Collate meeting reports from the Local Aviation Security Committee for submission to the National Aviation Security Committee
    • Collate meeting reports from the Local Airport Facilitation Committee for submission to the National Airport Facilitation Committee
    • Secretarial Service and administration:
    • Schedule all NASC meetings in the corporate diary.
    • Prepare agendas and meeting documentation and distribute them to NASC.
    • Coordinate logistical arrangements for NASC meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, teleconferences and videoconferences.

    ATO Inspector Pilot/FSTD (Gauteng)

    Description

    • Responsible for Licensing standards and regulations for all aircrew licenses, oversight of designated flight examiners, approval and oversight of examination centres. 

    CATS and CAR development
