Purpose Of The Position

This roles sits between the Africa function and technology – being an integral part of both management teams.nThe role requires elements of: participating in business strategy formulation, translation of strategy into technology demands, managing and overseeing technology delivery to the business function; input to technology strategy formulation, translating technology strategy into business impact and driving the technology strategy within the business function. The incumbent must provide thought leadership and must establish the company’s vision for an application architecture that takes into account future business demand, technology trends and developments in conjunction with the in-country ICT managers (where relevant). Note: Where there is an in-country ICT Manager, the Africa ICT Manager will support the in-country manager. In-country ICT managers will be responsible for all operational activities and plan tactical and strategic roadmaps with the Africa ICT Manager.

Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to:
Business Strategist

• Understand the business context: drivers, constraints, risks, challenges.
• Detailed understanding of key business initiatives and focus points - how they relate to technology
• Articulate above to tech management and key tech role players. Influence tech strategy on behalf of the Business Unit
• Technology understanding both internal and external, at a strategic level in order to articulate tech opportunities and threats relating to their function to senior business leaders

Technology Strategist

• Understand the technology context: drivers, constraints, risks, challenges.
• Detailed understanding of key technology initiatives and focus points and how they relate to the particular business function.
• Inform business on how technology strategy relates to the function, why it is important and what benefits it will bring.
• Inputs to technology roadmap, architecture and business planning

Technology Performance Manager

• Attend project steerco’s and stand-ups on behalf of business to ensure alignment to outcome benefits and monitor progress
• Escalate any issues, concerns or opportunities to relevant parties in business of technology

Financial Management - measuring cost and benefit

• Provides input into business cases for new technology

ICT Business Partnering

• Prioritise and plan demand
• Actively focus on Innovation to step change business processes and deliver on Distell’s digital strategy.
• Adjusts and pivots technology initiatives to get best return for the business unit
• Incorporate and manage the adopted governance frameworks for application and technical management into all guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitor performance and the availability of critical components initiating corrective action where required and ensure formal SLA reporting.
• Manage portfolio of 3rd party service agreements which are central of nature
• Support a business focused culture within ICT

The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

• A relevant qualification in business administration, computer science, information science or a closely related field.
• Minimum 7 years of ICT management.
• Good knowledge of and exposure to the Syspro software suite will be highly advantageous
• Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
• Analytical skills: outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively drive business, culture and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
• Gravitas to develop a framework for information and analytics governance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists; the ability to sell ideas and process internally at all levels, including the board and investors.
• Proven record of effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under his/her supervision; working ethically and with integrity.
• Working knowledge of ICT governance frameworks and SDLC
• Broad experience desired in multiple domain areas, application architecture, integration, application strategy, application quality management, application security and privacy, MDM, data standards, regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture framework

Purpose Of The Position

• The purpose of the ICT Business Analyst role is creating business value through consultation, facilitation and relationship management across functional teams within ICT and operations.

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

• Detailed understanding of business function strategies and processes to provide new capabilities that will address transformative/optimization requirements
• Assist ICT Architecture and Application teams to design, develop and maintain a conceptual architectural view for Customer & Consumer related to existing and new technologies to ensure alignment to business strategies and plans
• Work closely with Application Managers to ensure alignment across the SDLC
• Responsible for business solution design and detailed Business Process design and documentation to effectively support business processes
• Participate in project prioritization forums
• Communicate ICT project progress to business function
• Continuous assessment of existing processes, identifying weaknesses and opportunities to improve service delivery.
• Development, maintenance and management of relevant policies, standards and procedures.
• Project Manage ICT-related projects in your assigned area of responsibility.
• Understanding of existing customised system configuration and development.
• Assist System Analysts with user calls requesting for business process changes.

The successful candidate must have the following qualification skills and experience:

• An appropriate degree and backed by credible experience in information systems and technology management
• Minimum of 3 years’ Business Analyst (process management, mapping and notation) experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Sales and Marketing environment
• Very good understanding of Cloud Applications e.g. Salesforce
• Solid understanding on integration models and frameworks
• Proven skills working in an Agile and DevOps environment
• Sound project and change management abilities
• Independent influencer with the ability to implement change
• Excellent people and conflict management, leadership and facilitation skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills at all levels
• Proven Business Process Management, Mapping and Notation Skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
