    Junior Operator - Process (B2)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Quality Officer or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 6 Months Exposure to relevant production process in a plant / operations environment.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Ensure effective and efficient operation of the total production process making use of manual operation as and when necessary while maintaining process conditions and monitoring production parameters.
    • Operate and control various types of equipment (HM Drum, conveyors, vibrating screens, pumps etc.) and machinery. Conduct pre-shift inspection of equipment, machine parts, and/or components of the production line to ensure production flow according to standards within prescribed processes and procedures. Continuously observe /monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor. Assist with preventative and breakdown maintenance. Hourly inspections to make sure all equipment is functional.
    • Adhere to planned maintenance / production schedules to assist in achieving production throughput. Ensure optimised process flow. Identify constraints and/or troubleshoot operational deviations and communicate to supervisor or line manager. Ensure correct product grade. by following grade assurance and control processes.
    • Perform lock-out procedure whenever required.
    • Perform housekeeping duties whenever required

    Fitter Aide (B4)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Fitter or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Advantageous: Operative Course Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • Advantageous: 3 months practical trade-related experience in a heavy industrial/ mining/ plant environment.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Assist in ensuring optimum availability and reliability of equipment in support of effective and continuously improved plant operations. To assist and execute maintenance on plant equipment including modifications and repairs.
    • Assist artisan in conducting mini risk assessment in own area of work.
    • Ensure own work area is clean at all times. Ensure all equipment and tools are clean after use and stored in Storeroom. Ensure that personal/artisan’s tools are complete and in safe working condition.
    • Work independently and under the supervision of the artisan. Ensure tasks are completed according to set requirements and standards. Tasks include: Remove and replace pump components, pulley bearings. Patching of conveyor belts. Adjusting of crusher gaps. Tasks assisting the artisan include Overhauling of pumps, crushers. Changing of gearboxes. Installation of steel pipes. Conveyor belt splices. Greasing of equipment.
    • All defects and status of tools and equipment are reported to Artisan/Chargehand/GES. Operate stationary and mobile engineering equipment after completing pre-use inspection checklist. Perform lock-out procedure when required. Tools, material and equipment are utilized according to SOP's.
    • Assisting the artisans in the maintenance of primary and secondary equipment when instructed (perform partly independent, according to the level of competence). All plant equipment is maintained reactively and on a scheduled basis to ensure equipment availability and reliability. Breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the supervisor/Control Room.

    UV Operator (TMM)(B3)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Chargehand or nominee.   

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:                                            

    • Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
    • Code 08 (EB) Driver’s Licence.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
    • 1 year practical underground Engineering experience.
    • Advantageous: 6 months practical UV Operator experience.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Operate the machinery allocated to him/her in such a way that material, tools and equipment are supplied safely, within time, without damage to the machinery, and according to approved procedures. Report breakdowns and problems regarding material availability. Take responsibility for all activities under his/her control regarding safety. Ensure all Codes of Practice and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
    • Operate the equipment to achieve pre-determined deadlines/ requirements. Operate and control mechanical equipment and machinery. Continuously observe / monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor.
    • Report breakdowns/ damages timeously to the control room operator.
    • Take care of assigned vehicle. Safe and timeous loading, transporting and off-loading of belt material and parking of vehicle according to Standard Operating Procedure.
    • Assist with removal of old tips and belt structures, and transport to surface workshop, as per schedule.
    • Adhere to Key Control Procedure.

    Document Controller (B5)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Chief Safety Officer or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10.
    • ISO Certificate (45001/14001/9001).
    • Mine Health & Safety Act Law Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 1 - year practical experience in document control in a SHERQ environment.
    • 2 years practical experience in ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • To act as custodian of the document control process coordinate, maintain, store and update all legal and controlled documents for the mine. Ensure a document management process exists and is followed.
    • Continuous co-ordination, record keeping, maintenance and administration of all documentation • Initiate review processes of existing and new documentation system as part of continuous improvement. Ensure availability of most recent documents in collaboration with document owners and SHERQ management on review and sign-off. Distribute documents to relevant stakeholders on request. Quality assurance of all system documentation by ensuring compliance and/or alignment with templates designed and aligned with ISO-standards. Administration of Permits and Licences using data base, checks and balances. Manage and maintain filing systems for required documents.
    • Administration and maintenance of all required legal appointments and documents (lack of storage facility) • Maintain and update legal appointments and legal register on the network.
    • Compile and submission of monthly overdue documentation and permit and licence report
    • Communicate new and revised documentation Mine-wide by email, and drawing on communications officer. Consult with relevant management parties regarding their documentation system to provide effective guidance and advice.

    Boilermaker Aide - Plant (B4) (12 Months Fixed Term)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Boilermaker or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 10 / Standard 8.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Advantageous: Operative Course Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • Advantageous: 3 months practical trade-related experience in a heavy industrial/ mining/ plant environment.
    • Advantageous: 6 months practical experience in Gas cutting equipment and welding.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Assist in ensuring optimum availability and reliability of equipment in support of effective and continuously improved mine operations. Assist and execute maintenance on mining equipment including modifications and repairs.
    • Ensure own work area is clean at all times. Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in Storeroom. Ensure that artisan/personal toolbox tools are in safe working condition.
    • Conduct risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control prior to every task performed. Perform lock-out procedure when required. Work independently and under the supervision of the Boilermaker/ Direct Supervisor. Ensure tasks are completed according to set requirements and standards. Tasks include: Welding, cutting, grinding and material drilling.
    • Adhere to planned maintenance /production schedules and breakdowns to assist in achieving production throughout. Assume responsibility for the safe and optimal use of equipment and related machinery.
    • Ensure all defects and status of tools and equipment are recorded, signed and handed over to Foreman. Operate stationary and mobile engineering equipment, e.g. TMM machines, conveyor belts, pump stations, compressors and fire suppression systems. Tools, e.g. welding machine, gas cutting equipment, angle grinder and material drilling machine are kept clean, maintained and functional. Tools, material and equipment are utilized according to SOP's and manufacturer specifications.
    • Assist the Boilermaker/Direct Supervisor in the maintenance of primary and secondary equipment when instructed Breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the Supervisor. Specified components and spares are reconditioned for installation. Ensure repaired equipment is tested for functionality before handing over. Components are cut and welded according to specifications to reduce work load and time. Assist Boilermaker/Direct Supervisor with first level inspection and observing mobile engineering equipment to prevent breakdowns, damaged equipment, injuries and production delays.
