    Cashier – (12-Month Fixed Contract)

    • Our established call center based in Umhlanga seeks a skilled Cashier to play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our staff, ensuring accurate transactions, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll be an essential part of creating an enjoyable, organized environment for both customers and team members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers.
    • Keep track of all cash and credit transactions.
    • Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate.
    • Receive payments (cash or credit) and issue receipts.
    • Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets.
    • Cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
    • Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information.
    • Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
    • Handle merchandise returns and exchanges; replenish stock.
    • Handle and pack food for various campaigns.
    • Clean workstation and maintain high hygiene standards.
    • Ensure surroundings are neat, tidy, and surfaces sanitized.
    • Dish food to customers according to the portion sizes directed by the catering manager.
    • Monitor service periods and expedite when food is running low.
    • Assist in other areas of the kitchen when cashier duties are complete.
    • Ensure stock is checked on arrival, dated, labelled, and rotated using the FIFO system.
    • Adhere to Food Hygiene, Health, and Safety Regulations at all times.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Matric
    • At least 2 years’ prior experience as a cashier using Smart Retail POS systems
    • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
    • Manual dexterity and ability to operate POS systems
    • Basic PC knowledge
    • Familiarity with kitchen equipment

    Canteen General Assistant - (12-Month Fixed Contract)

    • Are you a motivated and reliable individual with a passion for delivering exceptional service? We’re looking for a dynamic General Assistant to join our inhouse canteen team at our call center based in the hub of Umhlanga!
    • We require an individual with good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and a passion for practical and methodical work. You must be honest, trustworthy, and able to work as an all-rounder within the canteen team. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are key to ensuring excellent service with a smile. If you're dedicated to providing top-quality service in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performing routine tasks that may involve the use of chemicals, hand-held tools, machinery, and equipment, which may require some physical effort.
    • Cleaning of kitchen and/or dining halls.
    • Washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, and vending machines.
    • Reporting repairs and maintenance issues.
    • Venue setups and clean-ups for functions (e.g., chairs) as needed.
    • Specialized cleaning and ad-hoc services as required.
    • Unloading and distribution of consumables and cleaning materials as needed.
    • Ensuring housekeeping is done in accordance with procedures.
    • Waste removal.
    • Ensuring that service delivery within the Centenary Café is always maintained.
    • Cleaning food preparation, equipment, and serving areas after every meal service.
    • Adhering to Food Safety Management Practices and Standards in the kitchen and dining halls.
    • Ensuring cleaning standards, machinery, equipment, personal hygiene, and food safety are maintained.
    • Always applying safe working procedures.
    • Undertaking duties and tasks as prescribed from time to time.
    • Willingness to work overtime or on weekends as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric advantageous
    • At least 1 to 2 years of prior experience as a general assistant within an inhouse canteen environment, restaurant, or similar industry
    • Culinary qualification would be advantageous
    • Must be employed within the company for a minimum of 6 months
    • Must have achieved the following over the last 3 months:
    • 90% average attendance record
    • No active warnings on file
    • Not currently on any performance programs
