    Implementation Consultant (Cape Town)

    Responsibilities

    • As an Implmentation Consultant for Hexagon Asset Lifecylce Intelligence you will be responsible for setup, installation, configuration, and customization of technical solutions, applications, or process designs for the client’s purchased or outsourced technology and business outcome solutions. You will be comfortable working independently as well as working closely with senior consultants in requirements gathering, application configuration, and application testing and training for our software.

    You will...

    • Work directly with clients to manage initial access, map and transfer data, create process documentation (functional requirements/designs/lessons learned), and train or coordinate training for client users.
    • Test and troubleshoot functionality of installed systems.
    •  Identify and document technical issues to be escalated to product and system integration teams for resolution.
    • Provide feedback based on client experiences to product and professional services teams for product and process improvements.
    • Sometimes work directly with clients on-site or provide project support remotely.
    • Sometimes work on pre-sales activities.
    • Identify and redirect non-support items to the relevant department.
    • Assist and train less experienced peers.
    • Triage new and existing support items.
    • Maintain adherence to customer service level objectives and details / terms of client support contracts.
    • Interface with the end users of the software, and with the partners who are reselling or configuring the software, for requirements gathering, training, technical support, feedback etc.
    • Sometimes act as the technical lead on project implementations providing technical direction and guidance to the team.

    Software Engineer (Cape Town)

    Responsibilities

    • Role requires you to work through support queue tickets and provide solutions / work arounds for defects reported by clients. You will be working with our technical leadership for the support team to provide quality solutions that are well tested and still delivered in a timely manner in line in with our SLA’s. In some cases, investigation of reported issues would need you to get on a screen share call with the client and investigate issues remotely, so your communication skills are essential for this role (both written and verbal).

    Responsibilities

    • Responding to customer bug reports or from receipt to resolution (including updating tickets, responding to e-mails etc)
    • Identifying and Redirecting non-support items to the relevant department.
    • Reporting to and escalating client issues to the Global Support Manager
    • Keeping up to date with the details / terms / response times of client support contracts and applying them to ticket resolution
    • Reproducing, diagnosing, analyzing and correcting reported defects
    • Deploying fixes for (and proposing solutions to) defects that occur in our software on customers sites and elsewhere.
    • Interfacing with the end users of the software, and with the partners who are reselling or configuring the software, for training, technical support, feedback etc.

    Education / Qualifications

    • Degree(s) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering,Information Systems or related field
    • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a client facing role is essential
    • Excellent client communication and etiquette, with an embedded mindset of delivering a positive customer experience
    • The ability to handle multiple, competing priorities while maintaining high quality standards.
    • Good team player who is willing to learn and grow
    • Knowledge and experience working with one or more programming languages
    • Experience with Databases and SQL scripting is an added advantage

    Software Lead (Cape Town)

    Responsibilities

    • Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division(Hexagon) is seeking a Software Lead.
    • In this position, individuals plan, conduct, and provide leadership for a variety of programming assignments for a single development project.
    • Guides team development efforts towards successful project delivery, providing technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship in broad area of expertise.
    • Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
    • Contributes to internal engineering processes and tasks, recommending new technologies to ensure quality and productivity.
    • Recommends adjustments to resolve software issues, improve the functionality of existing software, and ensure that the design, application, and maintenance of software meets quality standards.
    • Uses strong, effective communication skills to work closely with cross-functional team members, product owners, and other product stakeholders to develop applications that meet customer needs.
    • Experience in designing, building and operating cloud-native applications and microservices is strongly preferred, ideally with experience in Kubernetes and IaC tools such as Terraform. This role includes providing leadership for full-stack development. 
    • Familiarity with Python and React is also and advantage.

    Education / Qualifications

    • A postgraduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering is preferable, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

    Senior User Experience Designer (Cape Town)

    Responsibilities

    • Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division(Hexagon) is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer.
    • As a member of the UX Services team, the User Experience (UX) Analyst is a passionate, positive, and collaborative problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with others to make incredibly complex things simple.
    • Researching, analyzing project requirements, conceptualizing user experience designs, conducting user testing, and collaborating with product owners and business analysts about functional and customer needs.
    • Creating workflows, sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas.
    • Actively participate in daily team meetings, collaborate with peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customers.
    • Coordinating with multi-regional development centers and scrum teams on design issues relating to user experience.
    • Share knowledge of user-centered design principles and help development teams to brainstorm innovative solutions through user experience consulting.

    Education / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction or other related design degree.

    • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Axure, Figma, XD, or similar design tools.
    • Experience working with agile software development and globally-distributed team is a plus.

    DevOps Consultant (Cape Town)

    Responsibilities

    • Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division(Hexagon) is seeking a DevOps Consultant.
    • Collaborate with development and operations teams to help create reliable and frequent releases for software and updates. This could include, but is not limited to:
    • Testing of new features.
    • Identifying solutions that may impact the product for cloud deployment.
    • Building automation tools.
    • Standardizing technologies.
    • Improving operations efficiency.
    • Design and implement, build, deployment, and configuration management automation.
    • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
    • Test implemented designs and advise / document the impact for cloud deployment.
    • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing, catching and solving issues before deployment.

    Education / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or related field. 
    • Minimum of 4 years overall IT/Technology/Operations/Software experience with a minimum of 2 years’ previous experience in combining development and operations into a DevOps framework and team model .
    • Experience with Windows and Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools, scripting such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies.
    • Experience with Puppet ( or Chef, Ansible, or other similar tools).
    • Solid hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tooling (ARM / Terraform / Cloud Formation) .
    • Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently.
    • Experience in best practices with SecOps and cyber security is a strong plus.
    • Experience with Azure DevOps a plus.
    • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of an organization.
    • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
    • Ability to be on-call and work remotely as needed.
    • Ability to travel as needed (not more than 10%).

    Desired Skills

    • Have good interpersonal skills, and can work effectively on your own or as part of a team.
