    Section Head: Electrical, Instrumentation & Statutory (Hay level 15/C4)

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensure plant availability within set parameters (97%).
    • Monitor & review inspection worksheets & initiate any further corrective maintenance.
    • Act & advise as subject matter specialist in all Electrical, Instrumentation and Statutory projects/teams for improvement.
    • Compile planned maintenance plan, have them approved, and ensure activities take place as per maintenance plan.
    • Review plan and adapt maintenance activities as appropriate to ensure efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
    • Develop maintenance procedures.
    • Ensure work is undertaken in accordance with applicable standards (Quality & Safety, etc), policies & procedures.
    • Receive & evaluate all ad-hoc requests from departments/customers for repairs.
    • Purchase parts/spares needed to satisfy the requests & feedback to customer, appropriately.
    • Initiate practices to minimise down time of equipment.
    • Improve on mean time to repair.
    • Identify high risk components, ensure sufficient stocks and keep all necessary spares for downtime (Including all critical spares)
    • Assist and be involved in the Engineering and Projects department with technical support on new projects.
    • Deploy Artisans/Technician as required to respond effectively to problems, breakdowns, discontinuities.
    • Review systems and equipment to ensure optimum levels of performance in terms of 5-year strategic plan.
    • Perform two-year reviews on documentation as initiated by the Senior Maintenance Manager.
    • Analyse the strategy plan to determine the applicable deliverables & targets.
    • Determine the staff requirements, permanent and contractors, in accordance with the expected deliverables.
    • Motivate the staff to ensure that deliverables will be met in accordance with the expected targets.
    • Identify areas of underperformance and put actions in place to improve.
    • Compile the Performance Management documentation in collaboration with the staff member in terms of: Performance Output Profile requirements, Key Performance Areas/Indicators and Individual Development Plan.
    • Develop budgets in terms of prescribed guidelines, including Capex, Opex, overheads and costs
    • Monitor and manage the budgets on a monthly basis, report and forecast thereon and keep within 10% deviation.
    • Manage the overtime of staff and ensure that costs remain within budget.
    • Take corrective action as required to ensure performance is within budget parameters.
    • Ensure equipment is safe for use through inspection, performance test and maintenance upgrades.
    • Keep up to date with the applicable regulations and laws and constantly review and update statutory documentation.
    • Plan, lead, organise and control all SHEQ related issues.

    Chief Operational Assistant (Hay level 9/B2)

    Key Performance Areas

    Production 

    • Operate the plant in line with approved work instructions, guidelines and management directives
    • Assist in updating of work instructions
    • Monitor process trends and SPC data to ensure the production process is within operating parameters and do corrections accordingly.
    • Report all operating defects to the Shift Foreman / Supervisor
    • Generate the operational report and communicate effectively to relevant parties
    • Monitor stock levels to ensure that the inventory is kept up to date and suitable for meeting production target and goals agreed on.
    • Do job observation on work instructions.

    Compliance with SHEQ requirements

    • Adhere to safety regulations and requirements
    • Oversee the safe operation of the plan
    • Ensure PPE is in a good condition and correctly worn in the workplace
    • Engage in risk easements with other disciplines on ad-hoc tasks

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical science; NQF level 4 in plant operations will be advantageous.
    • Three (3) years’ experience in a 24-hour chemical plant operation will be advantageous.

    Service Technician (Based in Kyalami) (Hay level 12/C1)

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    Technical Support

    • Schedule appointments and visit customers to service and repair equipment.
    • Service products involving: Repairs and Preventative Maintenance visits.
    • Consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
    • Conduct pre-delivery checks on instrumentation, where applicable, prior to delivering to customers.
    • Provide technical telephonic and customer walk in support.
    • Provide technical assistance, consultation and problem solving to customers as necessary.
    • Arrange and handle operations equipment (Tools) necessary for completion of Job requests as per maintenance/servicing procedures.
    • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
    • Deliver demonstration products and stock to customers when necessary.
    • Accompany sales team as and when required for equipment projects.

    Administration

    • Prepare quotations.
    • Follow-up on quotations/ pro-forma invoices.
    • Accurately document field service activities, including installation report and service work report, and timely submit through the required system.
    • Submit reports to Warehouse & Customer Service Manager weekly.
    • Update Outlook electronic calendar and Activity reports on a daily basis.
    • Submit weekly Expense reports on a timely basis.

    Stakeholder relations and customer service

    • Build and manage relationships between AEC-Amersham personnel, customers, and relevant suppliers.
    • Consult with customer and supervisor to plan/ schedule planned Jobs.
    • Follow up on completed jobs and Key Accounts sites to ensure customer issues are accurately and timely communicated to the required party, solution developed and eventually solved
    • Manage conflict/complaints in an effective and professional manner.
    • Ensure customers are kept abreast with regards to any changes in the products they are using or changes involving the company.
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction in all aspects of services provided.
    • Contribute to knowledge base to allow continued improvement of work efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Provide value as a team member in cross functional implementations while demonstrating effective interpersonal skills resulting in successful systems implementation and support.
    • Proactively generate leads for service opportunities and new instruments when at customer sites.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Preferably a National Diploma (NDip) in Electrical light current/ Electronics engineering or equivalent .
    • Computer literate (Office 365 package)
    • 3 years relevant experience in a service department in the healthcare and laboratory sectors.
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Willingness and availability to work overtime and weekends on short notice
    • SAP system experience advantageous
    • Must be able to travel the whole Sub-saharan Africa for customer related service.
    • Must be able to travel overseas for supplier training.
