Job Description

• A Senior Engineer: DevOps Platform builds and maintains cloud-native platforms that ensure application systems run seamlessly across multiple Kubernetes clusters and cloud providers. This role involves technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving innovation in platform engineering practices by ensuring planning, implementation, and operation of containerized infrastructure, multi-cloud management solutions, and GitOps-based deployment practices align with business strategy.

High-Level Job Objectives

• Infrastructure Architecture & Multi-Cloud Management — Design and implement fault-tolerant, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure across multiple vendors and regions using infrastructure-as-code and automation
• Kubernetes & Container Orchestration — Deploy, manage, and optimize multi-cluster Kubernetes environments, including advanced configuration, security hardening, and performance tuning
• GitOps & Continuous Deployment — Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for declarative, git-based infrastructure and application deployment
• Cross-Cloud Platform Governance — Establish standards, policies, and best practices for cloud-agnostic platform management using tools like Rancher
• Observability & Monitoring — Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions to ensure visibility across all platform components
• Security & Compliance — Review and enhance security configurations across cloud environments, implement container security practices, and ensure compliance with organizational standards
• Team Leadership & Knowledge Sharing — Mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture planning, drive innovation initiatives, and facilitate knowledge transfer across teams
• Incident Response & Reliability — Monitor, investigate, and mitigate service degradation issues with proactive incident response and post-mortem analysis

Core Skills
Essential Technical Skills

• Proven senior-level DevOps or platform engineering experience
• Firm grasp of Docker and container technologies
• Advanced Kubernetes expertise and cluster management
• ArgoCD or other GitOps tools implementation and management
• Rancher or similar multi-cluster management platforms
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or VMware Cloud Services
• Experience with HashiCorp Nomad, Kubernetes, Mesos, or similar orchestration platforms
• Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Salt Stack)
• CI/CD tools (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Version control tools (Git, GitHub)

Purpose of the Role

• A Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritising, and managing the product backlog for Nymbis Operations. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and the Engineering teams as well as the development teams, ensuring that product features align with business objectives and deliver maximum value to users. The Product Owner will work closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable user stories and guide the product development process through Agile methodologies.

High-Level Job Objectives

• Product Ownership & Strategy — Define and maintain the the product backlog based on Product Managers and Engineering input and business value and user needs, and create well-refined user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Stakeholder Management & Communication — Collaborate with internal stakeholders across marketing, sales, customer support, and executive teams; gather and analyze requirements; and communicate product updates and roadmap changes
• Agile Process Management — Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, work with the Scrum Master to maintain team velocity, define sprint goals, remove blockers, and monitor sprint progress
• Business Analysis & Requirements — Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, document functional and non-functional requirements, create process maps and user journey documentation, and develop business cases for new features
• Product Validation — Validate completed features against acceptance criteria and business requirements, perform user testing, and gather stakeholder feedback
• Team Leadership & Mentoring — Mentor junior Business Analysts in product management best practices, guide team members in user story writing, and support team onboarding and knowledge sharing
• Backlog Grooming & Sprint Planning — Conduct regular backlog grooming sessions, ensure stories are ready for development, collaborate with the development team on story point estimation, and plan sprint capacity
• Incident Response & Sprint Execution — Make real-time decisions on scope changes and feature adjustments during sprints to ensure sprint goals are met and team productivity is maintained

Essential Technical Skills

• Proven mid-to-senior-level product ownership or product management experience
• Advanced proficiency in business process mapping and requirements analysis
• Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum, sprint planning, and backlog management
• Advanced expertise in business acumen and risk identification
• Proficiency in product management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
• Strong user story writing and acceptance criteria definition skills
• Ability to conduct thorough business process analysis and identify improvement opportunities
