    Data Modeler (Northern Suburbs (Cape)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 

    • We seek a skilled Data Modeler to bridge the gap between business data requirements and technical implementation. This role will be responsible for designing, structuring, and optimizing data models that enable efficient storage, retrieval, and use of data across the organization. You will collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure data is well-organized, accessible, and aligned with business needs. As a Data Modeler, you will be responsible for implementing conceptual and logical data models that support cloud-native architectures.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Data Modeling and Design:
    • Translate business requirements into high-quality data models.
    • Shape how information flows and connects.
    • Ensure information is technically integrated and contextually aligned with business decision-making needs.
    • Develop and maintain enterprise reference models, taxonomies, and data designs.
    • Define metadata, semantic layers, and information flow standards that enhance data quality, regulatory compliance and business usability across systems.
    • Data Governance & Standards
    • Establish data governance standards, ensuring data integrity, normalization, and consistency.
    • Collaborate with data governance teams to align models with enterprise standards.
    • Document data models, relationship, and business rules.
    • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Engage with business stakeholders to understand data needs and define modelling requirements.
    • Translate strategic information needs into actionable design artifacts; create and maintain high-quality documentation and diagrams.
    • Provide expertise on best practices for data modelling.

    Requirements
    JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS: 

    • 5+ years of experience in data modeling, information architecture, or a related field.
    • Expertise in SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling tools .
    • Knowledge of cloud-based data architectures.
    • Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and AI-driven data structuring.
    • Understanding of data visualization best practices for self-service analytics.
    • Strong understanding of relational databases, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing.
    • Experience working with big data platforms (e.g., GCP).
    • Knowledge of metadata management, taxonomies, and business glossaries.
    • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures.
    • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.

    SHEQ Officer (Durban West)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To provide SHEQ expertise, guidance and support by developing programmes, policies, and procedures to prevent and control any hazards or injuries. Coordinate and improve SHEQ performance reports and administer systems. Provide support to the Site managers and Regional Risk Managers.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure that all incidents relevant to SHEQ are reported, investigated, corrected and learnings disseminated.
    • Ensure that all relevant environmental authorizations operating licenses/permits are applied for and are up-to-date and compliance to conditions is monitored.
    • Ensure the company is compliant with all applicable SHEQ legislation and other requirements to which the company subscribes.
    • Monitor SHEQ performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
    • Ensure that all legal appointments are in place in terms of applicable legislation.
    • Continuous improvement for Projects for Distribution Centre relating to quality, safety, health, and environmental.
    • Develop and maintain the occupational health management and monitoring programme.
    • Manage all SHEQ site surveys, audits and assessments.
    • Drive the culture of quality, health, safety and environment by raising awareness of SHEQ throughout the site through various initiatives, communication plans and training.
    • Manage all SHEQ related training requirements.
    • Assess the site current sustainability performance, identify and prioritize the site key sustainability strategies, i.e., drive energy efficiencies, resource recovery, reduce waste and increase efficiencies, carbon footprints, etc.
    • Responsible for developing adequate plans / controls to prevent pollution, respond to emergencies and ensure business continuity.
    • Ensure compliance with system and operational protocols, policies, and procedures at site
    • The ongoing Review of the  Compliance for implementation of/and compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as means to ensure operational excellence.
    • Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence. 
    • Monitor and review those corrective measures that have been implemented.
    • Ensure adherence and identify exceptions of compliance from the DC Balance Scorecards with intent of reaching set targets agreed by DC Leadership
    • Maintain and enhance internal and external customer relations
    • Need to Liaise with the Central Office E-Team on all Initiatives throughout the business and accurately reporting on the reduction of the carbon footprint 
    • Provide SHEQ improvement proposals, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation on NCRs issued.

    Requirements
    JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

    • 3 year Tertiary Qualification in related fields
    • SAMTRAC (Basic)
    • 3+ Years as SHEQ Officer
    • Experience in implementation of ISO 9001-2015 & ISO 45001
    • Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
    • Proficient computer skills, G-Suite/Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to handle a stressful and fast paced environment.
    • Ample experience in implementing corrective/preventive measures.

    Distribution Allocator (Durban West)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To coordinate and plan operational work plans within the DC to maximize productivity. As a Wave Master, you will be responsible for both administrative and operational duties and have primary responsibility for allocating orders, releasing work to the warehouse floor, balancing workflow, and ensuring inbound and outbound  run within acceptable levels to meet store needs and demands. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Waved released in accordance  with Manhattan (WMS) sequencing , orders are waved and processed in order of priority
    • Assign and monitor the work required for wave (picking and replenishments)
    • Ensure work balance across warehouse zones
    • Releases waves and updates DC progress statistics throughout the day
    • Assist in supporting standard facility Key Performance Indicators (KPI) which consistently meet/exceed established goals in safety, quality, sanitation and maintenance
    • Work closely with the inventory department and on-site personnel to resolve any  problems with the day's orders
    • Foster clear communication with your team and internal contacts to address service related interests
    • Participate in operational excellence initiatives (Lean, Kaizen) focused on improving wave efficiency and accuracy.
    • Act as the subject matter expert on wave planning processes, tools, and reporting.
    • Ensure DBN’s are available for waving within the lead time requirement
    • Communicates all ageing with DC Stakeholders
    • Communicates with Control Tower and Merchandisers on DBN’s to be cancelled 
    • Provide MET tool Training for all functions in the DC

    Requirements

    • Matric
    • Computer Literate: G-Suite 
    • Minimum 1 year working experience in a similar position within a warehousing environment
    • Experience using WMS (Manhattan preferred) 
    • Competencies required: Planning, organizing and monitoring, Detail orientation, Building and maintaining relationships, Communication, problem solving, training and mentoring
