    Tester Routine

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The Routine Tester will be responsible for safely collecting and preparing test sampled for the lab assistant, ensuring that these samples are collected per schedule and are accurately analysed and results are published/ distributed in a timely manner. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Diploma/Certificate in Chemistry or Equivalent
    • 2 Years process and laboratory experience 
    • Microsoft skills
    • Drivers licence
    • Medically fit
    • ISO EMS 14001 2015,QMS 9001 and OHS45001 2018 systems 

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Quality Assurance Management and process - Ensure that samples collected as per schedule and are accurately analysed and that results are published / distributed in a timely manner.
    • Recognise and report on deviations in a timely manner.
    • Provide accurate data - Complete documentation accurately and in full.
    • Housekeeping - Clean the lab area, shelves and floor. Ensure the work station is clean and tidy at all times.  Pick up any material lying around. Ensure that laboratory test equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
    • Provide input in planning and review process and monitor expenses - Provide input into planning and review process (INVOCOM) where required. Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimise waste.
    • Team relationships - Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues.
    • Personal development and participation in team and peer coaching - Complete Individual Development Plan. Attend learning and development courses. Participate in peer and team learning initiatives

    Shift Supervisor

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The despatch shift supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating shift, plans and allocates daily tasks through the Invocom system. Solves problem and ensures the availability of the required resources. Communicates with service departments to attend to mobile equipment, drill rig and the crushing plants. Ensures all key results' records are kept and runs required reports.
    • Timeously reports identified field problems to the shift supervisor and executing work instructions given by the shift supervisor over the radio and orally. Inspects their operational area and ensures good housekeeping and safe running of plant units and the safety of other people working in their area of jurisdiction. Also executes delegated work from the Despatch Foreman and Despatch Superintendent

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Diploma/Certificate in process, production, chemistry or equivalent
    • Experience in a cement manufacturing plant and/or process
    • Microsoft Office - Basic
    • Industrial Control Software (SCADA)
    • Performance Management System
    • Achiever System
    • Certificate of competency in mobile equipment & plant operation

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Production Control. Compile End of shift report, accurately and comprehensively completed, including: Target / Actual / Variance (including down time and outstanding work orders) as well as proper action planning during the shift. Ensure production data is being used for Visual Management in all areas in the plant. Ensure daily Production stock count is accurate Production Review - Facilitate start of shift production INVOCOM and provide input where necessary.
    • Conduct Short Interval Control with operators throughout the shift.
    • Process Optimisation - Action recommendations from Despatch Foreman. Conduct preliminary diagnostic during process upsets. Provide input into efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives
    • Liaise with engineering on resolution of mechanical or electrical issues, by raising scheduled and urgent work orders,
    • Equipment condition monitoring - Ensure pre-start checks are done properly done and action plans actioned. Ensure ongoing and systematic 1st line equipment surveillance and condition monitoring.
    • Material movement and processing - Issue work instructions aligned to the shift plan to all teams.
    • Stock management - Conduct end of shift assessment of material. Assist with variance investigations and stock adjustments as required.
    • Quality Management - Ensure adherence to Product Change procedure and Correct extraction of Silo for Bulk Loading and Packing to avoid loading of wrong product and product contamination.
    • Escalate quality deviations to Despatch Foreman.
    • Governance - Comply with departmental Joint Audit Protocols. Comply with PPC Operating Best Practices.
    • Risk Management - Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures. Assist with investigations of incident & accidents and implement required corrective action. Comply with IMS system requirements.
    • Contractor Management - Sign contractor reports on a daily basis.
    • Contract Labour Management - Raise requests for use of contract labour. Assign work instructions.
