    • Rand Refinery is offering an exciting 12-month internship opportunities for motivated individuals looking to gain valuable workplace experience in a dynamic environment and be able to complete their qualification.

    Job Description

    • Vacancy: Internship (P1 and P2) 
    • Division: Human Resources - In Service 
    • Fields: Eletrical, Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering
    • Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
    • Closing Date: 9 January 2026

    • Must be available for the full 12-month internship.

    Quality Control Technician (FTC)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • Inspect all final products manufactured in the fabrication section.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Adhere to SHEQ standards and practices i.e. monthly inspections, reporting of incidents and near-misses, adhere to SHEQ feedback, management feedback.
    • Inspect all manufactured products and accept or reject products based on product type reference standard and specifications .
    • Log results on appropriate log sheets based on daily/shift rejects results - management feedback, Log results.
    • Package final product as per type and customer specifications.
    • Ensure all relevant information is included and written on final product package as per type, customer and customs requirement .
    • Learn and implement new quality control measures.
    • Adhere to Quality system i.e. ISO9001.
    • Adhere to training procedures.
    • Adhere to Cargo Aviation Authority (CAA) standards and practices.

    Job Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Completed Matric qualification.
    • Tertiary qualification in any Quality/ Process/ Engineering related studies.
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years working experience.

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

    • Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word).
    • Analytical skills.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication skills- Able to impart knowledge in an orderly manner.

    KNOWLEDGE:

    • SHEQ knowledge — understand and adhere to SHEQ standards and practices.
    • Quality Control knowledge - understand and execute quality control processes.
    • Manufacturing operations - understand the process streams and how quality control can impact manufacturing.
    • Supply chain knowledge - understand the steps in the supply chain.

    Stores Clerk

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • The purpose of this role is to receive and issue consumables to internal customers in line with policies, procedures and legislation.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Receive and issue inbound bulk materials in line with production requirements and requests.
    • Ensure stock and non-stock materials is received in line with standard operating procedure.
    • Ensure stock and non-stock materials is issued in line with standard operating procedure.
    • Move or  transfer materials physically between storage locations and point of use.
    • Conduct adhoc weekly and monthly cycle counting, including bi-annual stock take.
    • Responsible for daily and weekly receiving of bulk materials into bulk storage facility.
    • Ensure that safety procedure is adhered to when receiving hazardous material.
    • Comply to stores working practices and environment is safe according to guidelines and SHEQ requirements.
    • Issue stock reservations accurately in line with standard operating procedure.
    • Participate in stores process improvement.
    • Ensure daily tasks are carried in line with Rand Refinery safety standards.

    Job Requirements
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Completed Matric qualification.
    • Minimum of 2 -3 years working experience in a similar environment.

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

    • Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
    • Communication skills.
    • Ability to identify and solve problems.
    • Attention to detail.

     KNOWLEDGE:

    • Basic understanding of stores process.
    • Knowledge of material management processes and governance requirements. 
    • Knowledge on Inventory management (stock control).
    • SHEQ knowledge—Understand and apply relevant SHEQ practices and procedures.
