They need a seasoned Programme Manager to own end-to-end delivery across a multi-site, multi-function initiative with demanding timelines and high executive visibility.

    • Drive alignment and integration across multiple business functions throughout the full value chain
    • Manage programme governance, risk, budgets, and timelines with rigour

Data Management Lead – Analytics – Retail

    About the Role

    • A leading South African value retailer is restructuring its analytics capability – moving away from flat team structures and long-term contractor reliance toward permanent leaders who take real ownership of their domains. This is one of those critical hires.
    • The Data Management Lead owns the data management layer that underpins all analytics across the business. This means establishing and governing robust semantic models and semantic layers, building a multi-year roadmap, and leading a small internal team – while collaborating closely with an external data engineering partner. The role requires someone who thinks in years, not tickets.

    Team You’ll Lead

    • 1 Data Steward
    • 1 Support Analyst
    • 3 Analytics Engineers
    • Close collaboration with an external Data Engineering Lead and their team of approximately 6 engineers (GCP-focused; Microsoft stack sits with this role)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own the design, implementation, and governance of semantic models and semantic layers – Power BI modelling treated as a semantic layer, not just a visualisation tool
    • Build and drive a multi-year data management strategy and roadmap – five-year thinking, not just the next sprint
    • Lead, coach, and develop the internal analytics team
    • Establish clear intake, triage, and prioritisation processes to protect team capacity from ad-hoc demand
    • Collaborate with the external engineering team on data availability, quality, and GCP to Microsoft platform integration
    • Build and maintain a sustainable, production-ready Microsoft analytics environment
    • Challenge and reduce reliance on non-scalable patterns (SharePoint lists as databases, low-code technical debt)
    • Act as primary technical and strategic owner of the analytics data management domain

    Requirements

    • Strong data engineering background with deep expertise in semantic modelling and Power BI – tabular/semantic models, not report-building
    • Proven experience leading technical teams with genuine domain ownership
    • Demonstrated ability to build long-term roadmaps and deliver sustainable platforms
    • Solid grasp of data modelling best practice, performance, and governance within a Microsoft analytics stack
    • Effective across both technical teams and business stakeholders

    Advantageous

    • Retail or large multi-site operational experience
    • Hybrid environment experience – Microsoft analytics alongside cloud platforms (GCP)
    • Experience bringing structure and accountability to previously flat or contractor-heavy teams

    Role Details

    • Employment type: Permanent
    • Location: Kuils River, Cape Town (on-site)
    • Target start: October 2026 / phased into FY27
    • Annual package: R1 350 000.00

Analytics Lead – Customer & Commercial

    About the Role

    • A leading South African value retailer is restructuring its analytics function – moving from a flat model where analysts spread thinly across every domain, to one with clear ownership and accountability per area. This role owns the Customer and Commercial analytics domain outright.
    • You’ll lead a small, focused team, partner directly with commercial and customer stakeholders, and build an analytics capability that drives real business decisions – not just reports. The emphasis is on permanent thinking: someone who builds lasting capability, not someone who clears a backlog.

    Team You’ll Lead

    • Approximately 3 Data Analysts
    • 1 Data Scientist

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own the analytics agenda, priorities, and roadmap for the Customer and Commercial domains
    • Lead, coach, and develop the team of analysts and data scientist
    • Partner with commercial, customer, category, and related stakeholders to identify high-value analytical opportunities
    • Ensure analytical products are decision-oriented, business-trusted, and built for ongoing use – not one-off deliverables
    • Collaborate with the Data Management Lead on shared semantic models, metric definitions, and data quality for customer and commercial measures
    • Build team capability and foster a culture of ownership and accountability
    • Contribute to the broader maturation of analytics – from reactive and broad, to domain-led and purposeful

    Requirements

    • Significant experience leading analytics teams in a commercial, customer, or retail environment
    • Strong commercial mindset – able to connect analytical work directly to business outcomes
    • Hands-on proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and related analytics tools and techniques
    • Experience managing a mixed team of data analysts and a data scientist
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

    Advantageous

    • Retail commercial or customer analytics background
    • Experience in customer analytics, commercial performance measurement, or related advanced analytical techniques

    Role Details

    • Employment type: 12-month renewable Contract
    • Location: Kuils River, Cape Town (on-site)
    • Target start: October 2026 / phased into FY27
    • Annual package circa R1 350 000.00

Analytics Lead – Merchant Support Services

    About the Role

    • A leading South African retailer is introducing clear domain ownership across its analytics function – moving away from a flat, reactive model where analysts cover too many areas at once. This role owns the analytics capability for Merchant Support Services outright.
    • You’ll lead a small team, set the priorities for the domain, and ensure the analytical work delivered creates genuine operational value. This is a long-term ownership role – not a contractor mentality, not ticket-clearing.
    • Due to the high volume of applications expected, candidates who have not received feedback within two weeks of applying should consider their application unsuccessful.

    Team You’ll Lead

    • Data Analysts
    • 1 Data Scientist

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own the analytics agenda and priorities for the Merchant Support Services domain
    • Lead and develop the team of data analysts and data scientist
    • Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into high-value analytics
    • Ensure analytical outputs are robust, trusted, and built for ongoing use – not once-off deliverables
    • Collaborate with the central Data Management Lead on shared models, metric definitions, and data quality
    • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team

    Requirements

    • Proven experience leading analytics or BI teams – ideally in a retail, store operations, or multi-site environment
    • Ability to set clear priorities and deliver insight that supports operational decision-making
    • Hands-on proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and related analytics tools
    • Experience managing both analysts and data science resources
    • Comfortable working on-site in Cape Town in a predominantly office-based environment

    Role Details

    • Employment type: Contract or Permanent
    • Location: Cape Town (on-site)
    • Annual package circa R1 350 000.00

    Project Coordinator

    About the Role

    • A leading South African retailer is running a large-scale Composable Commerce Re-Platforming Programme and needs a Project Coordinator to keep it operating smoothly. This role sits directly behind the Online Programme Manager – your job is to ensure that plans, risks, reporting, and governance are always current and accurate so that leadership focus stays on decisions, not data-gathering.
    • This is a coordination and support role, not a delivery-accountable one. You won’t own squad outcomes, but you will own the operating rhythm that makes delivery possible.
    • Due to the high volume of applications expected, candidates who have not received feedback within two weeks of applying should consider their application unsuccessful.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain the programme plan, milestone tracker, and cross-squad dependency map – flagging slippage and conflicts early
    • Own the RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) – logging, chasing owners, and preparing for steering and Exco review
    • Prepare agendas, minutes, and action logs for governance forums (steering committee, architecture review, cross-functional sync) and track actions to closure
    • Support budget and Capex tracking, maintaining spend-to-plan views and flagging variances
    • Manage the programme document repository (Confluence/SharePoint) – keeping specs, decisions, and architecture artefacts current and correctly versioned
    • Coordinate the programme planning cadence: scheduling, pre-reads, consolidating inputs, capturing outputs
    • Coordinate release-readiness activities across release trains with Delivery Managers
    • Act as first point of contact for cross-functional coordination, triaging and routing where Programme Manager involvement isn’t required

    Requirements

    • 2-4 years in a project/programme coordination, PMO, or delivery support role – ideally within a digital, e-commerce, or technology programme
    • Relevant qualification in project management
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
    • Working familiarity with Agile/SAFe and traditional project delivery methodologies
    • Strong risk judgement – knows the difference between noise and an escalation
    • Financial and vendor management exposure
    • Confident stakeholder communicator across multiple levels

    Contract Details

    • Duration: 12 months
    • Location: Cape Town – in office Monday to Thursday, remote Friday
    • Rate: Market-related
