    Financial Manager (Financial Services)

    Purpose of the Job    

    • The purpose of the Financial Manager role is to provide strategic and operational financial direction to the business unit. The role will be responsible for the strategic planning of the finance function and support the tactical implementation of the business strategy.
    • The role is responsible for the overall financial management of the business which includes budgeting, financial reporting, planning and analysis to enable business decision-making as well as ensuring that appropriate financial processes, control and standards are in place to mitigate risk and support a high growth business.

    Job Objectives    

    Strategic focus

    • Build and mature the finance competency within the business unit.
    • Provide strategic financial input and support to the management team in achieving its strategic goals and building the business.
    • Provide accounting, commercial and business input into all aspects of the business across Financial Services.
    • Focus on achievement of financial targets and business imperatives that will ensure that the business plan is delivered upon.
    • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.

    Financial reporting 

    • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to management while recommending further courses of action.
    • Ensure the effective and timeous production of monthly management accounts and presentations to the management team as well as monthly reporting to other relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensure continuous improvement of daily, weekly, and monthly analysis and reporting across the business to ensure that management has timeous, accurate and value-adding information to assist in decision-making.

    Financial management 

    • Lead budget process for the business.
    • Oversee the planning and management of the internal audit process, action audit findings and liaise with external auditors when required.
    • Ensure effective cost management and optimisation across the business and make recommendations to manage costs in line with business activity.
    • Provide input into management to ensure that financial and strategic objectives are met.
    • Ensure that the principles of good corporate governance are applied at all times.
    • Ensure that appropriate costings and business case preparation / viability studies for new initiatives are performed and make recommendations based on sound financial outcomes and business acumen.
    • Research and report on factors influencing business performance.

    Financial controls

    • Assess and develop in-depth understanding of the end-to-end control environment of the business and identify any control weaknesses.
    • Ensure that adequate internal controls are implemented, maintained and monitored across all areas of the business.
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

    Risk 

    • Implement a risk framework to ensure that all Strategic, Operational and Financial Risks are identified and documented.
    • Document and agree the risks identified along with the mitigating controls and drive the implementation of controls to reduce overall risk exposure.
    • Implement and maintain the risk register, identify risk mitigations and ensure implementation.
    • Produce monthly reports for signoff and approval. 

    Qualifications    

    • Degree or Diploma in BComm Accounting or relevant qualification- (essential).
    • CA/ CIMA qualification – (preferred).

    Experience    

    Essential:

    • 4 years’ experience in a similar financial management role with proven experience in a retail environment and its drivers of performance.
    • Proven experience developing and managing new frameworks, processes and procedures to enable a growing business while ensuring rigorous compliance.

    Knowledge and Skills    

    Essential:

    • Depth of financial expertise with proven skills in financial accounting, budgeting, reporting and risk management.
    • Strong business acumen with general knowledge of business outside of the financial sphere.
    • Knowledge of SAP.

    Test Analyst II

    Purpose of the Job    

    • The purpose of the role is to perform testing activities of a relatively complex nature, in order to ensure the successful implementation of business solutions.
    • The role designs, develops and administers a series of intricate tests and evaluations that identify any potential issues with a product before its general release, including defect fixes, functional and non-functional testing, system enhancements, new applications, fixes for incidents and disaster recovery testing (includes changes to systems or business products).
    • The role verifies and validates that the intended solution meets stated requirements and specifications that guided its design and development, and that they 
    • work within required standards and frameworks. The role provides technical support relating to testing and evaluations on medium to high complexity projects and works in close collaboration with project, testing and functional teams across the business to deliver client application support and ensure IT operations run smoothly.

    Job Objectives    

    • Coordinate and execute Test case generation and review (medium to high complexity and scale)
    • Work alongside the Test Manager / Senior Test Analyst, and the Application specialist to identify what to test by translating functional and business requirement specifications into testable test plans and test cases.
    • Identify and document key test scenarios and cases of high complexity and scale
    • Determine test prerequisites, test criteria, and record expected results
    • Review final test cases with Test Lead / Test Manager and obtain sign-off.

    Test prerequisites compilation

    • Identify and obtain required test materials (test data), and the required test environment
    • Ensure test environment setup (i.e., test server access and test logins), and prepare test results pack for results recording and sign-off.

    Test execution and recording 

    • Follow the written test case/ specification & record test results. 
    • Compare actual results against expected results. 
    • Record pass/fail status of each test case.

    Ensure Test status updates 

    • Provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements. 
    • Inform Test Lead / Management of any negative trends in the quality of software in pre- and post-production. 
    • Provide estimates and feedback to the Test Lead for project scheduling purposes. 
    • Ensure effective communication with key stakeholders. 
    • Prepare input to and maintain test tracking report on more complex projects. 

    Test closure activities 

    • Ensure test completion on more complex projects - no outstanding high-risk issues, defect have been fixed and retested or deferred or accepted as permanent restrictions. 
    • Handover test artifacts to people who need it in the future, e.g., maintenance or support teams. 
    • Participate in more complex project retrospectives and contribute and document lessons learned. 
    • Archive test work products, like test results, test logs, test status reports etc.

    Qualifications    

    • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field – (essential). 
    • Formal software testing training (e.g., ISEB, ISTQB CTFL) – (essential).
    • Advanced testing certified (e.g., ISTQB CTAL) - (desired)

    Experience    

    • 4 years’ experience as a Senior Test Analyst with demonstrable experience with manual testing, SQL experience and testing in an Agile environment – (essential). 
    • Proven experience of testing complex user interfaces – (essential).
    • Excellent understanding of testing concepts and the role of QA within Agile development methodology / Scrum management techniques – (essential). 
    • Experience with API testing, Automated testing tools and Remedy or similar CM experience – (desired). 
    • Testing experience in a retail environment – (desired). 
    • Experience of testing using an automated test tool such as QC and QTP/Selenium/Test Complete/Robot Framework or any other – (desired).

    Driver Instructor

    Purpose of the Job  

    • To support Transport operations by conducting Code 14 driver assessments, onboarding and ongoing training across the Supply Chain.
    • The role works directly with drivers on the floor and on the road, coaching safe, efficient and compliant driving techniques, supporting learnership drivers, and addressing driving behaviours that impact fuel usage and vehicle performance.
    • The role of a Driver Instructor is to provide clear assessment feedback and practical reporting to enable informed recruitment decisions, driver improvement and consistent fleet performance.

    • Deliver hands-on Code 14 driver training, coaching and mentoring to support safe, compliant and efficient transport operations.

    IT Warehouse Coordinator

    Purpose of the Job    

    • The purpose of the IT Warehouse Coordinator is to provide efficient administrative support in coordinating the delivery, reception, maintenance, repair or replacement of IT equipment, as well as executing admin-related query support for IT warehouse operations. This role closely co-operates with IT maintenance suppliers, whilst applying extensive knowledge in the reconciliation of hardware repair, replacement and the billing thereof to enable efficient IT warehouse services to the stores. The role helps 
    • to manage the flow of IT equipment and stock, ensuring efficient and accurate processing, organizing, and safe storing of inventory, including the physical handling of IT equipment from Receiving Bay through to warehousing and dispatch.
    • This role interacts with relevant warehouse systems and processes for logistics and stock management to effectively capture continuous updates regarding IT equipment.

    Job Objectives    

    • Oversees/Co-ordinates and communicates IT hardware parts stockholding kept by IT Shoprite in order to support the maintenance calls. 
    • Manages Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and expense items stockholding for the IT warehouse department. 
    • Physical offloading, processing, packaging and dispatch of IT equipment according to agreed standards and timelines. 
    • Taking inventories of stock and products, ensuring that they are safely and properly stored. 
    • Execute correct stock selection as requested on the issues documentation and packing stock according to agreed layout. 
    • Scheduling of stock provisioning to staging area for imaging. 
    • Assist with shipping equipment, packing, labelling and palletizing during peak times. 
    • Maintain turnaround of secondhand or returned equipment with the provisioning officer, label and catalogue returned equipment. 
    • Execute basic tests and refurbishments on equipment to properly separate and allocate usable equipment from e-waste and prepare e-waste donations to CSI. 
    • Execute good housekeeping of work area, and maintenance of the warehouse aisles and shelves as per safety and load requirements ensuring. 
    • Perform proper stock handling in equipment maintenance, packing material stock holding, PPE maintenance. 
    • Ensure stock rotation on stock issued. 
    • Logistics co-ordination and system administration:
    • Receives and processes all quotes for new equipment via email, incident reports or specific work orders.
    • Checks the validity of hardware quotes against JOB cards, Incidents numbers, history of device and store and sets guidelines for the maintenance contract.
    • Checks and Validates maintenance quotes submitted for the replacement of IT hardware stores not covered by maintenance agreements
    • Applies sound judgement on value of items against the quote to determine appropriate workflow and source of equipment supply i.e., maintenance company, Shoprite stockpile of part or placing a new order on SAP procurement.
    • Co-ordinates and processes Shoprite purchase/work order documentation with suppliers for installation, calibration work etc., this includes validating the requests with source documents to substantiate the order.
    • Co-ordinates the delivery of equipment and communicates with the relevant Shoprite IT team or suppliers on equipment or parts installation, calibration, etc.
    • Reconciles the monthly billing statement from suppliers for repaired, replaced, and scrapped pin pads across the Shoprite estate prior to senior IT management/exec’s approval of the order.
    • Applies IT hardware knowledge to co-ordinate the ordering and delivery of IT hardware systems to stores in various regions, and prepare financial stock take kit.
    • Build and maintain good working relationships with hardware and service suppliers to obtain track lead times for deliveries, deadlines, etc.
    • Apply extensive knowledge of the SAP GRV and Order system, Helix incident and workorder platform, pulse procurement as well as Excel to execute functions within the role.
    • Act as a sole point of contact for capturing Good Received on SAP capture for all work done in relation to not just maintenance but also expense at IT Home Office and so before payment can ensue.
    • Capture receiving delivery documentation on SAP when requested by receiving, and track stock movements on the main warehouse stock system. 
    • Provide stock counts for cyclic and regular stock takes. 
    • Update and capture the stock dispatch sheet and various project stock sheets with stock quantities, 
    • SOH, stock issued, stock received. 
    • Update secondhand stock sales and donations dispatch system. 
    • Update receiving sheet with e-waste and re-usable equipment received in warehouse 2.

    Reporting:

    • Maintains the main shared excel database for the request and supply of store printer maintenance units with maintenance companies and the supplier.
    • Maintenance of several shared sheets with different suppliers tracking current and old orders and requests. 
    • Account and report on weekly orders, quotes and so on according to value, supplier, and quantity. 
    • Participate in weekly and monthly stock takes. 
    • Provide special stock counts to specific projects as requested.

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 certificate – (essential). 

    Experience    

    • 2 years’ experience in a warehouse administration, or similar role with good knowledge and experience of receiving, issuing and dispatching stock, and managing communications between freight companies and warehouse customers with experience proven experience within warehouse operations picking, packing and scanning orders – (essential).
    • Experience in an IT warehousing environment – (preferred).
    • Experience working with data entry software (e.g., SAP) – (preferred)

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Knowledge of warehouse operations and processes and inventory management – (essential). 
    • Proficiency in MS office 365 with a foundational knowledge of Excel – (essential).
