    Customer Manager

    Job Description    

    • Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in the commercial department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Customer Manager role, which is based in Midrand. The successful candidate will report directly to the Key Accounts Director. 

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Development and Execution of Customer Plans: Develop and implement tailored customer execution plans that are aligned with the overall customer strategy, aimed at driving volume growth and market share expansion. Collaboration with Procurement and Vendor Management: Ensure that the business’s procurement and vendor strategies align with customer needs by working closely with the procurement team to ensure vendors meet business requirements.
    • Strategic Alignment with Key Partners (KO and MEC): Foster strategic partnerships with KO (Coca-Cola) and Monster Energy Company (MEC) to ensure alignment in consumer promotions and product offerings.
    • Cross-functional Coordination for Consumer Promotions and Channel Plans: Collaborate with regional commercial teams to ensure alignment of channel-specific plans and consumer promotions. Work closely to review the execution of plans, making adjustments where necessary to maximize ROI.
    • Revenue Growth and Pricing Strategy Alignment: Work with the Revenue Growth team to ensure customer pricing structures are aligned with both business goals and market conditions. Analyze pricing data and adjust strategies as necessary to maintain competitive advantage and margin protection while ensuring that all customer engagements reflect the overall financial objectives of the company.
    • Operational Execution and Resource Allocation with Supply Chain and RTM Teams: Collaborate with Supply Chain and the Route-To-Market (RTM) teams to ensure resources are efficiently allocated to support customer plans and timely product delivery. This includes overseeing the alignment of supply chain logistics, stock availability, and delivery schedules to ensure seamless execution. Success is defined by timely deliveries, optimized stock levels, and minimal disruption in execution.

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Education

    • Relevant formal qualification related to Sales and/or Marketing.
    • A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.

    Experience

    • 5 years’ experience in a Sales environment, and 5 years’ managerial experience within an FMCG environment.
    • Previous experience related to the customer management portfolio, will be advantageous.

    Skills

    • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement customer execution plans aligned with business goals to drive growth.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
    • Negotiation & Relationship Management: Expertise in negotiating favorable terms and building strong partnerships with vendors and key accounts.
    • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Project Management: Capability to manage multiple initiatives, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
    • Problem-Solving: Quick identification and resolution of challenges to maintain smooth execution of plans.
    • Financial Acumen: Understanding of pricing, revenue growth, and cost optimization to ensure profitability.

    Quality Assurance Technologist

    Job Description    

    • Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Quality Assurance department. We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Quality Assurance Technologist, which is based in Elgin. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Lab Quality Assurance Technologist.

    Key Pupose:

    • To develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to ensure adherence to Quality standards for the Supply Chain. To manage and maintain the designated quality systems and standards and to support and assist customers in addressing and managing quality systems, process and product related issues in order to improve overall performance in quality and productivity.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    
    Laboratory and In-Line Quality Control

    • Conduct analytical, chemical, physical, and microbiological testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
    • Perform quality checks on production lines (Brix, CO2, torque, fill height, appearance, etc.).
    • Ensure adherence to the Coca-Cola Operating Requirements and product specifications.

    Process Monitoring and Product Release

    • Monitor key process parameters and perform real-time interventions where deviations are observed.
    • Verify that corrective actions are implemented and effective before product release.
    • Approve or reject product batches based on quality results.

    Data Management and Reporting

    • Record test results accurately and timeously in laboratory systems and quality logs.
    • Compile and analyse quality trend reports and escalate anomalies.
    • Maintain sample retention and traceability documentation.

    Quality Incident Management

    • Assist in investigating product and process non-conformances, consumer complaints, or foreign matter incidents.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
    • Escalate unresolved issues to the Quality Manager.

    Calibration and Equipment Maintenance

    • Ensure laboratory instruments are maintained, calibrated, and used in accordance with SOPs.
    • Perform routine checks and liaise with equipment service providers when necessary.

    Systems and Standards Compliance

    • Participate in internal and external audits.
    • Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and housekeeping compliance.
    • Support quality system implementation and maintenance (SOPs, work instructions, records).

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Education

    • Minimum: Diploma in Food Technology, National Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or Microbiology
    • Preferred: BTech or BSc in Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
    • HACCP and ISO/FSSC certifications are advantageous

    Experience

    • 1–3 years’ experience in a quality assurance or laboratory environment in the FMCG or beverage industry
    • Experience in in-process and final product testing
    • Exposure to quality management systems (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000)
    • Experience working in a certified food safety and manufacturing environment

    Skills

    • Proficiency in laboratory testing (chemical, physical, and microbiological techniques)
    • Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety principles
    • Ability to interpret technical specifications and quality standards
    • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (NRCS, SABS)
    • Accurate data recording, reporting, and statistical trend analysis
    • Familiarity with ERP or QMS platforms advantageous
    • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Attention to detail, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
