    Warehouse Lead-1

    Job Description

    • The Key Purpose of this Role is to efficiently execute all requirements from a Safety, Quality, Governance, Interfaces with Packaging and Brewing Process Areas (Where Applicable) and Inbound Logistics and Outbound Logistics to satisfy Internal and External Stakeholder Service Levels. KPI Management through Effective Reporting and Problem Solving (E.g. 5 WHY, Abnormality Reports, SIC, OPLs, RACI's, OWD's, PDCA's)

    Key Responsibilities

    The key accountabilities for this role include but are not restricted to:

    Excellence Programmes

    • Ensure implementation and compliance of VPO and DPO Excellence Program

    Safety

    • Territorial Safety Ownership within Logistics Operation
    • Shiftly Stacking Inspections as per Legal Requirement
    • Shiftly Monitoring of Fleet Systems (e.g. FMX) and Investigating Transgressions to improve Driver Behaviour
    • Conduct Safety Behaviour Observations
    • Set and track SIF precusor Targets
    • OWDs on Safety and Operational Standard Operating Procedures
    • Ensure that Department of Labour Stacking Exemptions are complied with

    Quality

    • Quality Standards are adhered as per the VPO and DPO requirements
    • Effective Batch Management to ensure traceability of all Raw Materials (Where Applicable)
    • Ensure Quality Checks (E.g. BB date Verification, Quality Standards etc) on all Finished Goods received via Packaging (Where Applicable) or Inbound Loads and that no
    • out of specification/Inferior Quality Stock is received
    • Ensure Quality Checks (E.g. BB date Verification, Quality Standards etc) on all Finished Goods and that no out of specification/Inferior Quality Stock is despatched.
    • Ensure Stock Stored correctly and compliance to the Freshness and Rotation Policy (FEFO) as per VPO Standards
    • Food Safety requirements adhered to as per Policy
    • Perform Salvage Transaction in ERP to accurately reflect Salvage post Quality Sign Off

    Stock Count

    • Executing the Daily Stock Count using HHT - Finished Goods , Raw Materials and Empties
    • Performing Recounts based on Variance Tolerance
    • Problem Solving Stock Discrepancies between Physical and ERP

    Inbound Logistics

    • Verification of Inbound Loads that Quantity physically matches ERP and Paperwork and Quality and Age Standards are adhered to
    • Accurate recording of returns on handheld device prior to unloading
    • Receive Loads/Check and Unload/GRN Loads in SAP once verification is complete
    • Monitoring Delivery Schedules and Inbound Retpack Plans. Escalate to Supplier and T1 Control Room timeously before risk materialises
    • All documentation accurately and comprehensively completed

    Outbound Logistics

    • Verification of Outbound Loads that Quantity physically matches ERP and Paperwork and Quality and Age Standards are adhered to
    • Shipment status updated in SAP
    • Despatch Loads in SAP once verification is complete
    • Monitoring Outbound Plan is sufficient to manage Warehouse Capacity , FTCT and OTIF
    • All documentation accurately and comprehensively completed
    • Processing of returns transactions in ERP to ensure RTP is accurately reflected in ERP

    Packaging Line and Brewing Process Area Interfaces for Raw Materials, Finished Goods and Returnable Containers

    • Issue material to Packaging and Brewing Process Areas/Staging Locations as per Requirements
    • Receive Finished Goods from Packaging Lines
    • Issue Empties to Packaging Lines
    • Documentation Control for all movements and ensure signed by both issuing and receiving party
    • ERP accurately reflects these movements
    • Shiftily and Daily Reconciliation with Packaging and Problem Solving Stock Discrepancies

    Additional Interface Requirements

    • DCBL Sign Off
    • Problem Solve and Trace DCBL impacts
    • MBFU Sampling Results Sign Off and Review of Results Captured
    • FRI Plan, Test, Sign Off and Review of Results Captured

    Sorting Operation & Sampling

    • Daily Priorities are clearly communicated to Sorting Operation
    • Management of Productivity and Safety (e.g. WTS)
    • MBFU Results accurately reflected in Portal
    • Quality Checks conducted to ensure Sorting Standards are adhered to
    • Analyse MBFU results to initiate and partake in Problem Solving with DCs, Regional Teams and Distribution Teams
    • Sorting Adjustments/Write Offs and Write Ups processed in ERP
    • MBFU written off in ERP

    Picking Operation

    • Replenishment according to FEFO
    • Management of Productivity, Picking Accuracy and Safety (e.g. WTS)

    Pallet Repairs

    • Management of Productivity and Safety (e.g. WTS)
    • Overtime Management
    • Documentation Control for all movements to and from Pallet Repair Operation
    • ERP accurately reflects these movements

    Breakages Management

    • Daily Population and Reporting of Breakages Register
    • Processing of Breakages and Salvages in ERP
    • All FG and RM salvages are re-packed as per VPO & DPO standards

    Decanting Operation

    • Documentation Control for all movements to and from Decanting Operation
    • Daily Priorities are clearly communicated to Decanting Operation
    • Management of Productivity and Safety (e.g. WTS)
    • VPO and DPO Standards are followed
    • 5S Standards are adhered to

    Overpacking

    • Daily Priorities are clearly communicated to Overpacking Operation
    • Management of Productivity and Safety (e.g. WTS)
    • VPO and DPO Standards are followed
    • 5S Standards are adhered to
    • Processing of overpacking transactions in ERP to ensure Bottle & Crate and Single Bottles are accurately reflected in ERP

    Blocked Stock and FEFO Management

    • Inventory accurately blocked in SAP with blocking mechanism in place as per VPO/DPO Standards
    • FEFO Principle Applied on Outbound Logistics
    • Accurate recording of BB dates on Shipment Documentation
    • Efficient handling and storage of stock, stock rotation according to FEFO, utilization of storage facilities.
    • Ensure Compliance to Physical Blocking Standards (Finished Goods and Raw Materials)
    • Generate Bin Pulling Sheet and Update Bin Cards

    Bottle Loss

    • ERP transactions reflect all Loss Points in the Logistics Operation (Breakages , MBFU from Sorting , Inbound Losses etc.) to ensure GL losses in ERP match Mass
    • Balance Results
    • Packaging Interface Processes and Routines as detailed above

    SCOH Management

    • ERP transactions reflect all Loss Points in the Logistics Operation (Breakages , Inbound Losses etc.) to ensure GL losses are reflected timeously in ERP

    Forklift Management

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • 3 year diploma highly advantageous

    Brewing Process Operator

    • The key purpose of this role is the operation of the brewing and associated process areas, the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and supporting  the Brewing Technician Artisan in carrying out asset care activities. ​

    Key outputs and responsibilities:

    • Interpret and implement production plan for shift

    Packaging Engineer

    • The Key Purpose of this role is to ensure optimum utilization of plant, raw materials and people, to produce quality product at minimum cost which meets customer requirements while complying with legislation.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    Asset Care

    • Partake in the development of the asset care plan for the packaging hall, contributing suggestions and providing expert advice.
    • Implement the asset care plan for the packaging hall, ensuring that the engineering team have the required competencies.
    • Ensure that asset care goals are incorporated into engineering team and individual goals.
    • Audit compliance to the asset care programme by both the engineering team and the shift-based teams.
    • Ensure that asset care competencies are developed in the engineering team. Where training needs have been identified, through the training controller, ensure these are addressed.
    • Exercise budgetary controls over the asset care requirements of the packaging hall.

    Plant Reliability

    • Responsible for the overall reliability and uptime of the packaging hall.
    • Lead the engineering team in the provisioning of asset care and engineering support to the shift-based production teams.
    • Verify that the engineering team are carrying out routine and planned maintenance, and validate quality of work.
    • Verify that the maintenance systems are working properly and that data integrity and information accuracy is maintained.
    • Review plant reliability to ensure that equipment is operating optimally and to identify problems or opportunities timeously.
    • Take part in maintenance problem solving, and ensure that the engineering team is applying the correct problem-solving techniques.

    Plant Optimisation

    • Take part in the Regional and Central Office plant optimization trials, providing advice, assistance and guidance where required.
    • Evaluate impact of new plant and equipment, and sign off all plant and equipment modifications.
    • Analyse plant performance data to identify opportunities for improvement to plant performance and initiate opportunity evaluation.
    • Analyse plant failure modes and investigate causes for repeat failures to correct root causes.
    • Take part in evaluating continuous improvement opportunities identified by the production teams or engineering support.
    • Ensure that continuous improvement is built into engineering team goals and forms part of regular goal review sessions.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead the engineering team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment and team interaction.
    • Lead the development of engineering team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members.
    • Conduct regular engineering team goal review sessions, and conduct regular one-on-one and performance reviews.
    • Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members.
    • Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross-skilling occurs within the engineering team.

    Safety and Housekeeping

    • Ensure that the engineering team apply proper safety and housekeeping procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks.
    • Ensure implementation of the appropriate SAB and legislative policies (such as OSH Act) on safety and housekeeping.
    • Ensure that safety and housekeeping receive the appropriate focus through regular checks and safety audits.
    • Where unsafe work practices have been identified, the packaging engineer is responsible for correcting this.
    • Drive Safety and legal compliance in the Packaging Hall as a 2(7) appointee.

    Implementation Manager: Packaging

    • The key purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate the local Supply Chain — including Procurement, Supply, and Logistics while driving Procurement value contribution and ensuring excellent service delivery to AB InBev. The Implementation Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. This includes optimizing procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services to support overall business performance.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Packaging categories – glass, cans, crowns, labels, films, corrugates, folding cartons, crates, glue, pallets, consumables and other packaging​
    • Support the development of category strategies within the packaging category (glass, metals, plastics, paper, wood and other packaging)​
    • Successful execution of the strategies developed by the Sourcing Managers​
    • Provide Regional implementation support for categories managed by the Global Procurement Office (GPO)​
    • End-to-end responsibility for the Implementation of Sourcing Strategies and Contractual Agreement sin the Categories​
    • Manage, coach, support a team of Country Procurement Managers on implementation of the Category Strategies and Agreements​

    • Minimum 3 years experience in Procurement, Logistics or Supply. In depth knowledge of procurement, supply chain, finance and logistics​
    • Consumer Goods experience and Alco-Bev industry experience will be advantageous​
    • Knowledge of all relevant legislative requirements and familiar with local market environments​
    • Sound knowledge of Procurement systems such as Ariba, Anaplan, Syspro and SAP
