    Are you someone who can:

    • Conduct complex and quality credit assessments and risk analysis on potential and existing clients to enhance the decision-making process involved in determining the Bank’s appetite to extend credit to these clients
    • Drive customer service delivery goal achievement in line with predefined standards and in support of operational objectives
    • Adhere to First Rand’s Risk Management System credit requirements
    • Manage credit risk at origination on an ongoing basis

    You will be an ideal candidate if you:

    • Have a Post Graduate Diploma/Degree in Finance with 4-7 years' experience in Credit
    • Experience with individual credit mandate

    • Asset Based Finance/ Dealer Funding / floorplans credit experience

    Senior Data Scientist

    Job Description

    • To plan, build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies, procedures, products and advanced
    • mathematical models that provide analytical support and interpret insights, using advanced analytics technologies, to address business opportunities and problems and implement business strategy.

    Role Purpose 

    Are you someone who: 

    • Has a passion for credit/statistical modelling. 
    • Solid model development experience as well as, monitoring and optimisation of existing models. 
    • Capital Impairment modelling of a credit risk product or portfolio. 
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 and experience in Impairment modelling. 
    • Understands how to work with big data and transform data to be suited for modelling or other analytical insights. 
    • Interested in the relation between capital & provisions and financial reporting. 
    • Strong technically and strong coding proficiency (preferably SAS). 
    • Can work well under pressure. 
    • Able to translate business requirements into tangible, creative solutions with guidance.

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Minimum Qualification: B Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Actuarial Science 
    • Preferred Qualification: Honours Degree 
    • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience within Data Science: Credit Risk and/or within any of the following credit life cycles (including Credit Analytics, Acquisitions, Portfolio Management, Collections, Capital & Provisioning and/or Impairment Modelling.)
    • Leadership experience within data analytics is preferred.

    Business Analyst

    Job Description

    • Responsible to elicit and validate business requirements with stakeholders and to analyse and translate business requirements into requirement packages from which applications solutions are developed
    • The business analyst is responsible for defining business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services or optimised business processes
    • Engage with analytical stakeholders to gather, understand, and document business requirements for productionalizing credit and pricing models.
    • Collaborate with the Systems Analyst to translate business requirements into technical specifications for the development team.
    • Conduct thorough analysis of current processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit requirements and prioritize needs.
    • Create detailed documentation, including business requirements documents, user stories, and process flow diagrams.
    • Assist in validating that delivered solutions meet business needs through testing and stakeholder feedback.
    • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in business analysis and analytical modelling.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • 3 - 5 Years of Experience 
    • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in financial services or data analytics.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear requirements.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Systems Analyst

    Job Description

    • The Systems Analyst compiles technical specifications from specified business requirements The incumbent produces technical specifications in the form of documents that are in line with agreed upon standards

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with business analysts and business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
    • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications for the Java development team.
    • Work closely with Java developers to ensure proper implementation of analytical models, providing clarification and guidance as needed.
    • Assist in the design and optimization of system architecture to support the efficient processing of analytical models.
    • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure models are accurately implemented and meet business objectives.
    • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals and timelines.
    • Identify potential risks, issues and mitigation strategies related to analytical model productionalisation and recommend solutions.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in systems analysis and Java development.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • 3 - 5 Years of Experience in the filed 
    • Proven experience as a Systems Analyst, preferably in the financial services or analytical modelling domain.
    • Strong understanding of Java programming and development practices.
    • Experience with data analysis and modelling techniques.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
