Purpose of the Job

• Screening of Donor
• Phlebotomy procedure
• All Donor Attendant duties – Clinic Reception and Blood Collection

• Fully multilingual

• Skilled in customer services and the ability to deal with the public

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate in Phlebotomy Techniques
• 2-3 years Phlebotomy experience is essential
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
• Previous Blood Transfusion experience would be an added advantage
• Computer Literate
• Reliable transport
• The working hours are variable i.e. shift basis including weekends
• A code 08 drivers licence without endorsement (Advantage)

Purpose of the Job

Prepare, test, standardise, and supply reagents and chemical solutions to internal and external laboratories within required time frames so as to meet the daily operational needs of these laboratories.

Job description

• Performs the technical and quality aspects required for the release of reagents/ solutions.
• Monitors stock and distribution of reagents/chemical solutions and equipment maintenance.
• In-house calibration of Service’s Pocket, Digital, and Min/ Max Thermometers and Timers
• Environmental monitoring of Services Laminar Flow equipment, used for the preparation of blood products.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• National Diploma in Biomedical Technology or Biomedical Scientist or
• Medical Technician Certificate in Blood Transfusion
• Registered with HPCSA
• Computer literate
• Weekend work and callouts may be required in the event of an Emergency.
• Drivers licence (advantageous)
