    Product Integrator

    Job Description:

    • This role reports into the Product and Services Department
    • This role is required to execute the activities of the De Beers Technologies Manufacturing function by providing project management skills, purchasing activities through the SAP system and in conjunction with the buyers, assembly monitoring and execution, control of product quality, cost and product supply lead times.

     Your role will be responsible to:

    • Procure, plan and schedule all manufacturing projects to ensure parts are available on time and prior to start of assembly work.
    • Apply project management principals to manage the assembly processes in line with agreed assembly schedules.
    • Provides advice on improvements to the manufacturing processes.
    • Manage production costs and manage product quality.
    • Communicate on manufacturing progress to various internal stakeholders.
    • Assist in updating and developing new safe work procedures related to the production environment.
    • Willing to be trained on crane and forklift operations.

    Qualifications:

    Formal qualifications:

    • A minimum of a B.Tech Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering

    Additional requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment or any other fast paced production environment
    • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
    • Adaptable and flexible to changes in work priorities

    Role specific knowledge:

    • Understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings.
    • Basic mechanical design skills.
    • Applied understanding of the application of tools and equipment in the manufacturing process.
    • Project management skills including people management, scheduling, cost and quality management.
    • The use of SAP platform to create purchase requisitions and to book manufactured items to finish goods.

    Cost & Financial Accountant (FIFO)

    Job Description:

    • As the Cost & Financial Account, your role would be to execute the necessary financial activities in the department and ensure the application of sound accounting practices.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Co-ordinating Strategic Business Planning budgeting process.
    • Integrating labour analysis systems with that of the HR department.
    • Supporting processes focusing on cost control influencing expenditure flow.
    • Ensuring quantifiable and meaningful monthly off-mine reporting.
    • Managing and reviewing of Debtors & Creditors, as well as Asset Systems.
    • Ensuring costing and analysis of waste and diamond movement stock reconciliations on monthly for Forecast & Budget as well as the compilation of the financial month end report.
    • Reviewing mine budgets to ensure that budget applications accurately reflect productivity and efficiency improvements.
    • Ensuring compliance to IFRS guidelines and Group financial Policies and Procedures.
    • Reviewing and ensure all TAX and VAT compliance.

    Qualifications:

    Formal qualifications:

    • Grade 12/Std 10/N3 or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification
    • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline – Finance/ Accounting

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor degree level, appropriate to the job and/or B Tech Financial Accounting

    Alternatively:

    • A relevant combination of formal (Finance-related) qualifications and additional specialised studies
    • Articles and/or qualification will be advantageous (SAICA or CIMA)

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • 3 years experience in Accounting / finance-related role from a mining environment
    • 3 years extensive working knowledge of SAP
    • Experience in applying and implementing best practice principles
    • Knowledge and understanding of integrated systems
    • Track record of relevant experience.
    • Experience in Accounting environments is preferred

    S&SD Officer

    Job Description:

    • To implement and monitor an integrated DBSSSA SHE management system in accordance with De Beers group policies, guidelines and procedures.

    Key Tasks

    • Implement DBSSA SHE programmes and Deliver SHE training.
    • Advise business units on identified DBSSSA SHE issues
    • Recommend short term solutions and monitor the implementation thereof.
    • Gather and input data for DBSSSA SHE reports and statistics
    • Conduct required internal audits according to organisational procedures and legislative requirements.
    • Facilitate investigation of reportable incidents
    • Investigate and submission of High Potential Hazards

    Governance

    • Ensure adherence to Security and DBSSSA SHE Management programme goals and objectives
    • Support actions on the Safety Improvement Plan (SIP)
    • Active participation in Safety initiatives (e.g.: VFL & STEPS)
    • Conduct Internal Audit in respective areas

    Carbon Neutrality

    • Develop strategies and plans to achieve carbon neutrality goals within the organization.
    • Monitor and analyse carbon emissions data; identify opportunities for reducing carbon footprint.
    • Implement initiatives and projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions across operations.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and commitment to carbon neutrality objectives.
    • Report on carbon neutrality progress internally and externally as required.
    • Stay updated on carbon neutrality best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Integrate carbon neutrality considerations into overall SHE management practices and improvement plans.

    Qualifications:

    • N.Dip Safety Management /equivalent
    • Trade Certificate and SAMTRAC or COMSOC 1 & 2
    • Certificate of training in ISO 45001 and 14001 System implementation and Auditing or integrated internal auditing

    Experience required:

    • 2 years post qualification practical experience as a S &SD Officer
    • 2 years daily safety management at a Mine or Factory environment.

    Role specific Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and other related legislation such as the Compensation of Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, NEMA.

    Mechanical Engineer in Training (24 Month Contract)

    • This role reports into the Technical Services Unit in the Technology Development and Engineering department. 

    As a Graduate:

    • Mechanical Engineering, you will provide Mechanical Engineering support as part of a team and will be registered at the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Candidate Engineer. You will complete your Development Plan and exposure requirements under the supervision of Competent Engineers to ensure continuous improvement in operational efficiency according to business needs.     Formal qualifications:

    • Completed your degree within the last 2 years.
    • Have no more than two years of relevant work experience.
