Matriculants:

• Preference is given to learners who have University acceptance for the new academic year 2024 within the specified fields of study mentioned.

University Students:

• To assist Management in improving of business performance through managing and tracking information and system / process performance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Task and Responsibility:

• Manage Technical Services will Lead the Metallurgy Team in the safe and cost-effective execution of all metallurgical and maintenance logistics ensuring high quality finished products.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate: Grade 12
• Degree: Bachelor of Science Honours Geology or Metallurgy Engineering (Required).
• Management Development Programme (Added Advantage)
• Bachelor of Science Mining Engineering (Alternative).

Experience and Requirements:

• Minimum 10 Years experience in technical services section in mining industry (Process Plant).
• 5 Years’ Management experience in Mining industry.
• Experience in Technological ore processing.
• Proven relevant experience in Project Management.
• Proven experience & knowledge in Rail / Road Ore Transportation including legislations.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Progressed Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• System Skills – JDE, Oracle, PIPware and Isometrix.
• Collate integrated scorecards for work areas, operations and business groups. Create reports. Perform trend analysis and internal audits. Develop document control systems and practices.
• Manage the monitoring and evaluating of safety, hygiene, health, risk and quality reports and profiles, implement, and delegate corrective action. Ensure ISO accreditation and manage interfaces and audits. Ensure reliable survey data and manage the day-to-day operation of the Survey section.
• Promote and enforce a culture of statutory compliance. Evaluate negative trends and introduce remedial solutions. Communicate changes where applicable. Ensure structures and frameworks are implemented.
• Legal, statutory and regulatory compliance on all requirements are implemented and maintained for function.
• Manage and act as custodian of the Technical Services processes and systems
• (Rail and Road - Logistics, Ore Control and Surface Ore Transport)
• Optimise the function's core internal processes and internal supply chain. Resolve cross-functional operating conflicts through development of processes, standards and directives.
• Integrate, align and drive change initiatives. Walk the talk and motivate others to implement change programmes. Oversee management of change programs. Monitor implementation of corrective action.
• Ensure that mechanisms to reduce risk to the business are implemented that ensure all legislative, accreditation and governance requirements are met.
• Engage with subordinates once removed to encourage and recognise improvement. Approve innovations and provide the means for implementation. Implement operations effectiveness model and practice.
• Remain up to date with macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general.

Experience and Requirements:

• 1 Year Roofbolter experience in an underground mining environment.

• Dover A Symbol.
• Production License - Drill Rig.

Experience and Requirements:

• 1 Year equipment operation experience.
• 2 Years experience in mining environment.

 Knowledge and Skills:

• Conduct vehicle inspections and housekeeping. Identify sub performance. Report deviations. Operate the drill rig and produce accurate drilled holes for the charging, blasting and sampling activities.
• Render support with ad hoc tasks. Only operate in a workplace that has been declared safe by the miner in charge.
• Complete pre-start check list accurately and record all equipment defects or potential defects.
• Complete documentation accurately and in full.
• Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.

• To dismantle and assemble AC/DC Motors, repair winder brakes, gearboxes and other mechanical equipment and conduct daily and weekly inspection on winders as per MHSA and Regulations.

• Computer Literate (Microsoft Package).
• System Sills (Oracle, Isometrix and JDE).
• Monitor and control production processes within area of responsibility.
• Assist with and monitor preventative and breakdown maintenance during shift.
• Report mechanical breakdowns in time.
• Ensure safe and effective operation of the shaft winder for the haulage of ore, persons and materials during a shift. Undertaking maintenance, fault finding and repairs of winders.
• Conduct fitting work which supports maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations of mechanical equipment per work orders and breakdown work orders. Consider direct environment risks.
• Complete daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Report problems and make recommendations to Supervisors.
• Adhere to maintenance and production schedules. Ensure optimised process flow. Identify constraints.
