WHAT YOU'LL DO

In your first 12 months, you'll:

• Complete an intensive onboarding into Metso's technology portfolio, business processes, and tools, supported by a dedicated buddy and structured orientation sessions with the process group and product groups
• Take ownership of your first independent project (likely a smaller-scope delivery), executing it against contractually agreed KPIs for schedule, budget, quality, and safety
• Build working relationships across the Delivery organization, Market Areas, and key customer accounts to establish yourself as a trusted project leader within Metso

Your core responsibilities include:

• Direct all phases of EPS project execution: engineering, purchasing, logistics, installation, and commissioning, delivering on schedule, budget, and quality commitments
• Carry full technical and financial responsibility for projects, from sales support through warranty fulfillment
• Manage project risks, change orders, and contractual obligations with discipline and commercial awareness
• Serve as the primary customer interface, building confident and transparent relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• Lead cross-functional project teams of up to 30 people, coaching team members and identifying add-on sales opportunities

WHO YOU ARE

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Chemical
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale delivery projects (EPS or similar scope), with demonstrated ability to manage multiple sub-projects and maintain oversight of the full picture
• Background in the mining and metals industry, with an understanding of the operational and technical environment these projects serve
• Effective English communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to operate across cultures and geographies

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience from the customer or owner side of mining projects (e.g., capital project delivery for a mining company), bringing an investor's perspective to how projects are planned and executed
• Domain expertise in mineral processing technologies such as comminution, flotation, or hydrometallurgy
• Track record of working in a technology supplier or EPC environment, managing projects with both technical delivery and commercial accountability

Purpose of the Role

• To perform electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and commissioning on stacker reclaimers, wagon tipplers, and associated bulk material handling systems in a surface mining environment, ensuring compliance with South African mining safety regulations and maximizing equipment availability.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Deliver expert-level troubleshooting and inspections on BMH equipment with a view to do detailed business proposals and scope of work on BMH installations.
• Execute assembly, installation and commissioning, planned maintenance and repairs on BMH equipment.
• Detail testing using Metso technology and optimising the performance of BMH equipment.
• Perform all work in a planned and organized manner, follow instructions and plans, and complete work on schedule.
• Ensure that work performed meets all statuary requirements and company standards.
• Housekeeping duties of the maintenance area.
• Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all SHEQ regulations and standards during the work and ensure compliance with statuary and other regulations as required by law and customer requirements.
• Continually review and where necessary suggest changes that will improve the department's occupational health, safety, quality, and efficiency performance.
• Other duties as directed by the Line Manager
• Willingness to assist in additional reasonable tasks on hand
• Maximize team performance on all jobs
• Complete job cards, logbooks, and inspection report

Work Experience:

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in BMH Equipment (Stackers and Reclaimers), preferably with mineral processing equipment as a maintenance or reliability engineer.
• Experience with planning, solution development and maintenance execution in the field.
• Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint.
• Understanding our principles of professional customer relations and interaction
• Ability to effectively communicate with a drive and performance orientation
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• 5+ years in mining or heavy industrial environment
• Experience on surface mining bulk material handling equipment
• Experience with 6.6kV / 11kV systems
• Experience with VSDs and large motor control systems

Work Environment

• Surface mining plant
• High dust and vibration exposure

Education & other requirements

• Mechanical / Electrical or millwright trade certificate with 10 years minimum applicable job experience. 
• A Bachelor’s degree or similar recognised tertiary qualification in a mechanical or electrical field will be an advantage.
