    General Manager - Ithemba

    The General Manager of this division will own the long-term strategic operational plan along with the daily business reporting and management of the cross-functional team. Demonstrated experience in dealing with procurement with governmental bodies, as well experience in managing an Income Statement is expected The ideal candidate will use their skills and experience to deliver impeccable results, and position Ithemba as a leading utility management and solutions provider. Strong quantitative intuition will be highly beneficial.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification - Bachelor's in Business, Finance, Economics or other highly quantitative field.
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related experience will be an advantage
    • Minimum 8 years experience as an executive, management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, business division leadership and/or strategic planning role, with an entrepreneurial passion
    • Experience in a transformational fintech, e-commerce, payments, retail technology, or software industry environment
    • Experience with / knowledge of the informal retail market will be a major advantage
    • Experience developing and implementing business operations management and process improvements to streamline operations.
    • Strong quantitative background with experience determining insights to inform key business decisions.
    • Ability to look ahead and balance strategic projects and initiatives with day-to-day reporting and management.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with senior management teams, manage and execute projects with a strong call to action; ability to effectively prioritize projects and meet aggressive, recurring deadlines.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The overall execution of strategy for the division to ensure market share and GP growth.
    • Develop near and long-term strategic growth initiatives including new products or partnerships (external and internal) with supporting business case analysis to deliver quantified business impact.
    • Improve the overall revenue contribution and performance of the Electricity Portfolio and Ithemba for the business.
    • Manage and evolve the structure of the division, continually driving alignment and execution of our core business priorities
    • Define and develop business-critical metrics and reports, key performance indicators, and financials supporting business evolution and growth.
    • Market scanning and analysis - analyze and identify shortfalls and areas of improvement
    • Understanding the impact of different components and market events on product success
    • Liaise with trustees to ensure beneficiary interests are sought after and within legislative guidelines
    • Strong experience in commercial modelling and pricing strategies will be highly beneficial.

    • A desire for action with strengths in problem-solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think clearly & analyze quantitatively.
    • Ability to juggle many tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment and must be a self-starter who is excited about technology.
    • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with technical employees.
    • Have a passion for technology solutions and display a deep client orientation and understanding of the retail market and Fintech industry
    • Have a key understanding of B-BBEE and the Preferential Procurement Regulations

    Junior Financial Manager (Treasury)

    Candidates for this position should be energized by working in complex business environments that requires both a problem-solver and continuous improvement mindset. Candidate should be fanatical about technology and finance thereby driving automation and financial innovation specifically in a Fintech environment

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee the payments / treasury team
    • Management of credit limits and prefunding requirements
    • Approval of release of payments
    • Reporting for Internal and External purposes (Daily / Weekly / Monthly / 3 Month Forecast)
    • Variance and reporting analysis on cash facilities
    • Management of implementation of internal covenants
    • Review of daily / weekly cash flow for effective use of funds
    • Assisting in the documentation and improvement of treasury procedures
    • Implementation and effective utilisation of a forex management system
    • Treasury support on operational activities where required.
    • Automate processes and improve efficiency in liquidity and cash flow management
    • Effective optimisation of working capital in line with business requirements
       

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or related field required
    • 2-5 years’ experience in staff management
    • 2-5 years’ experience in treasury management
    • Excellent communication skills at all stakeholder levels
