    Head of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Senior Lecturer - Faculty of Education

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinating WIL in the Faculty of Education
    • Conduct academic research 
    • Professional development of teachers and students
    • Conduct postgraduate supervision of students in his/her field
    • Manage and lead Work-Integrated Learning in the Faculty of Education
    • Liaise with internal WIL stakeholders

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • PhD in Education or in a related field
    • 3 - 5 years teaching experience at school level
    • Teaching experience at higher education level
    • Experience in course/curriculum development in WIL/ teaching
    • Managerial experience in the Education sector
    • Evidence of publications in accredited journals or scholarly book chapter/s
    • Knowledge of teacher education in South Africa, particularly MRTEQ
    • Registered with SACE
    • Track record of integrating technology in education
    • Evidence of successful Masters or Doctoral supervision

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

    • A transformational mindset, future-orientation, innovative thinking

    Manager: Conference Center

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To manage, supervise, prepare and assist with preparation, logistical support of events, conferences as well as maintenance of all facilities, equipment, venues and audio-visual equipment and related aids, under the department's control and coordination through the following:

    • Development and maintenance of appropriate planning processes, procedures, and plans to achieve the desired results;
    • Organisation of activities in relation to the events at the relevant venue;
    • Institute corrective steps in line with the objectives and execution of plans;
    • Promote an environment that improves staff morale and client satisfaction
    • Secure venues and safeguard assets as well as monitor key control for venues, safes, and storage facilities. Ensure that relevant security measures are in place to meet the needs of the specific activities;
    • Operation and management of facilities to ensure that all facilities are clean and equipment in good working condition;
    • Supervise workers with regards to cleaning, execution of furniture setup in accordance to the applicable rules and regulations;
    • Ensure the necessary Statutory Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety and Security standards are adhered to

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • A relevant Bachelors/B.Tech degree OR three-year National Diploma
    • Valid Driver’s license
    • First Aid Certificate

    Three years’ minimum experience (with Bachelor/B.Tech or equivalent degree) OR five years’ minimum experience (with National Diploma) in the following:

    • Facilities management
    • Events management
    • Modern audio-visual technology
    • Client engagement at all levels
    • Administrative experience
    • Management experience

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

    • Expo and exhibition setup
    • Project management (Event Planning)
    • Safety and First aid
    • Facilities Management
    • Customer engagement at all levels
    • Audio-visual technical
    • General technical experience with regards with modern audio-visual teaching aids and audio equipment
    • Computer Literacy
    • Ability to Identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve the issues.
    • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
    • Skill and ability in coordinating, facilitating, and participating in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments.
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Ability to accomplish tasks accurately and completely.
    • Available for standby and overtime
