    Director New Business Development

    • Director New Business Development will spearhead McCormick’s growth strategy in Africa, identifying and securing new business opportunities with B2B clients in the food and beverage sector. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in sales, market expansion, and relationship building in dynamic, high-growth environments. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with the company’s strategic EMEA objectives, delivering measurable revenue growth and market share expansion

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Market Analysis & Strategy Development: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes in Africa. Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve sales and share growth targets.
    • Client Acquisition: Identify, target, and secure new customers within food and beverage manufacturers, through prospecting, leveraging existing network and strategic outreach.
    • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and industry influencers to drive customer retention and repeat business.
    • Sales Leadership: Lead the negotiation of high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with company pricing, profitability and service standards.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Marketing and Insights, Supply Chain, Finance and Quality to develop custom flavor solutions that meet customer and market requirements.
    • Market Expansion: Identify and evaluate new market segments, distribution channels and partnership opportunities to expand the McCormick’s footprint within Africa.
    • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on KPI’s, such as sales growth, customer hits rates, and market penetration. Provide and manage regular updates to senior leadership.
    • Compliance & Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure all business activities adhere to local regulations, cultural norms, and the company’s high ethical standards.
    • Team management: Manage New Business Development team including Snr. Account Manager and Commercial Administrator, driving high performance.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE:

    • Bachelor of Commerce, Food Science, or related field.
    • Acceptable driving record including valid driver's license required.
    • 10+ years selling key ingredients to the health & nutrition product manufacturers and other custom food and beverage manufacturers.
    • South Africa business to business sales experience preferred.
    • Experienced using Salesforce or other similar CRM software.
    • Integrated Business Planning (IBP) experience preferred.
    • Working knowledge of technical aspects of products, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within customer's manufacturing process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc.
    • Developed and demonstrable critical thinking skills and business acumen.
    • Highly developed written and verbal communications skills that are clear, concise, and appropriate in timing and directed to appropriate levels.
    • Proven project management skills in a sales cycle from six weeks to eighteen months.
    • Manage limited internal resources and prioritize appropriately.
    • Ability to be innovative and take risks to drive new initiatives and new business.
    • Travel is required for customer and business meetings within Africa.
    • Highly motivated, self-starters who are forward thinking problem solvers with excellent contacts and strong work ethic.

    Production Planner

    • As a Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes by coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring seamless material flow. Your strategic planning will drive efficiency while balancing demand forecasts, resource allocation, and operational constraints. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure timely delivery of products, minimize downtime, and contribute to continues improvement initiatives.
    • This role requires analytical precision, proactive problem-solving, and a keen ability to adapt dynamic production environments.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Production Planning & Execution: 

    • Develop, adjust, and oversee long-term (extending up to 12 months forward) production plans to ensure seamless execution while balancing demand, inventory targets, cost efficiency, and operational constraints.

    Demand & Capacity alignment:

    • Coordinate closely with demand planning/customer services, and production teams to match production schedules with market requirements while optimizing resource utilization.

    Material Requirements Planning:

    • Coordinate closely with procurement and material planning to ensure timely procurement of raw material and packaging based on production schedules, minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.

    New Product introduction & Discontinuations:

    • Schedule product launches and phase -outs efficiently, mitigating risks of obsolete stock and ensuring smooth transitions.

    Data accuracy & system maintenance:

    • Maintain and validate production-related data in SAP/Excel, including BOMs, routings and capacity parameters, ensuring reliable decision making.

    Efficiency & Continues improvement:

    • Identify bottlenecks and collaborate with operational teams on Continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

    Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:

    • Serve as a key liaison between supply chain, production, procurement, commercial, and customer service to address constraints, optimize workflows, and drive alignment.

    Production plan Adherence & Reporting:

    • Monitor plan execution, track adherence at SKU level.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • Solid experience in a supply chain role working with customers, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders.
    • Practical experience of production planning in FMCG company (preferably in food industry).  
    • Degree in Industrial/Supply Chain/Business/Accounting.
    • Proven leadership skills and ability to influence stakeholders on all levels in the organization.
    • Excellent presentation skills and ability to proactively contribute to customer presentations.
    • Proven experience in managing and executing CI projects within a dynamic environment.
    • Cross functional team player and able to operate effectively within a matrix structure.
    • Flexible approach & innovative problem solver.
    • Exposure to ERP/SC systems (SAP) and Advanced level Microsoft Office (Excel).
    • Potential and desire to build career within Supply Chain.
    • Flexibility in complex, ambiguous and fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

    Performance Manager

    • This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and functional expertise to the Plant for loss analysis, analytics, and training systems. The role supports the Plant Leadership Team in the JTE (Journey to Excellence) strategy focused on building Employee capability, providing data reliability system and driving Employee engagement through implementation of high-performance work systems to achieve exceptional business results. This person will also participate and support the regional CI (Continuous Improvement) forums and programs to roll out in South Africa.

    Create visibility to Loss Data

    • Lead annual Loss Analysis to support site’s OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures) and budget targets

    • Provide supporting data analysis and justifications for any technology improvements and capital expenditures and feasibility studies
    • Lead site Focused Improvement pillar

    Lead site Data and Analytics

    • Maintain integrity of site data through training, health checks, and change control. Focus includes scorecards, downtime data base, manual tracking systems and SAP master data.
    • Provide analysis and insights to key performance metrics like Process Reliability, Productivity, Yield and Scrap.
    • Collate and publish site scorecard every month.
    • Create and execute site Analytics strategy.
    • Establish scorecard review processes based on the appropriate frequency and participants.
    • Drive data-based decision-making behavior at all levels

    Implement Effective Training systems

    • Coach site employees and SMEs on the methodology and tools:
    • Basic performance data and trends
    • Problem solving
    • Root cause analysis
    • Loss Reduction projects

    • Create and maintain site training systems

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline is required
    • Minimum of 5 years working in manufacturing operations in FMCG company (preferably in food industry)
    • Background in Total Productive Maintenance / Lean, Change Management and Organizational Effectiveness
    • Experience in a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) preferred
    • Team and Operations Leadership experience preferred
    • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI
    • Familiarity with creating reports using our current (and future) BI tools, e.g. SAP Hana, Tableau
    • Experience analysing complex datasets, generating insights and building robust statistical models (comfortable working with structured and unstructured data)
    • Ability to analyse complex information to make judgments and decisions
