    Creditors Clerk

    • A hospital creditors clerk is responsible for processing and managing the accounts payable for a hospital, which includes verifying and paying supplier invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing supplier relationships.

    Job Description

    • Ensure invoices are properly authorised in accordance with approved levels of authority.
    • Ensure that orders are matched against invoices with reference to quantities, quality, description and price.
    • Capture invoices on SAGE from all supporting documentation supplied.
    • Ensure that VAT is correctly applied to invoices and correctly captured on SAGE.
    • Allocate expenses to the correct Supplier and General Ledger accounts.
    • Ensure all documentation meets the minimum SARS and legal requirements.
    • Reconcile the creditor’s statements.
    • Liaise with suppliers on any discrepancies, credits, disputed items, etc.
    • Prepare EFT payments, COD and monthly, and load on to the banking platform.
    • Ensure all supplier payment deadlines are adhered to in accordance with agreed supplier payment terms.
    • Build solid relationships with suppliers.
    • Send remittance advices to suppliers after completion of the payment run.
    • Attend to supplier queries.
    • Ensure patient refunds, monthly rentals, etc are processed and paid timeously.
    • Monitor and maintain the creditors age analysis on an ongoing basis.
    • Provide feedback to management on all long outstanding amounts on the creditors age analysis.
    • Prepare other reports for management as requested.
    • Conduct thorough checks to ensure the prevention of duplicate payments.
    • General office duties.

    Job Requirements

    • Matric
    • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a Creditors Clerk role
    • A tertiary qualification will be advantageous
    • Computer literacy is an essential job requirement, e.g., Word and Excel

    Clinical Auditor

    • Review clinical documentation and billing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper coding against medical and legal standards. Their responsibilities include identifying discrepancies, auditing hospital accounts, ensuring correct tariffs and authorisations are applied, and maintaining a quality improvement cycle to uphold patient care standards.

    Job Description

    • Compilation of patient files to ensure that all relevant documents including documents on admission are in the file.
    • Auditing patient files to ensure that all stock including consignment stock and services i.e. surgical, ethical, equipment, oxygen, theatre gases and tariffs are billed by actual usage and within the NHN guide.
    • Auditing of patient files and verification of data i.e. Admission and Discharge Dates, membership options and dependent codes are correct. Daily Billing of Oxygen, Modifiers and Ventilators.
    • Auditing of long stay In Patients Auditing of patient files to ensure that billing is according to the NHN guide and Melomed Billings Policies and Procedures.
    • Ensuring that files are received and audited timeously and sent to the relevant departments to maintain the target of final billing files within 3 Days.
    • Following up and resolving queries to ensure that the targets are maintained.
    • Application of clinical knowledge in reviewing ICD and CPT coding of patient accounts. Compilation of reports for over and under billing.

    Job Requirements
    Core Competencies:

    Education:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualification
    • Enrolled Nurse registered with South African Nursing Council
    • Certificate in ICD 10 and CPT Coding

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a multidisciplinary hospital

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Computer Literacy
    • Strong Administrative Skills Knowledge of Fixed Fees, per Diems and Alternate Reimbursement Models
    • Knowledge of applicable statutory acts such as Consumer Protection Act; PMB; POPIA, etc.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)

    Job Description

    • Develop micro curriculum frameworks, study guides, teaching and learning materials, and supporting documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
    • Review teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to ensure academic excellence.
    • Provide academic support and contribute to staff and student development and success.
    • Monitor student performance and provide feedback or analysis on results.
    • Develop and maintain college year planners, study schedules, and other academic support structures.
    • Participate in or formulate relevant academic committees e.g., review committees.
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
