    Head of Distribution

    • Leading and mentoring a team who is responsible for ensuring that Red Bull is the #1 distributed energy drink in South Africa, by deriving and owning the strategy through horizontal and vertical reach opportunities. Red Bull should be available and within arm’s reach to every consumer in South Africa every day and displayed in a premium way. A key element to achieving this objective includes identifying, selecting, negotiating, and managing the right partners to ultimately deliver profitable and sustainable growth.

    People

    • Lead the DPM/Wholesale Team by focusing on their strengths to maximize their performance
    • Coach and develop team individuals to step up the ladder of mastery in managing their partners / accounts
    • Define and execute routines and call cycles for team securing optimal DP management
    • Own the relation to the top accounts and business partners
    • Be hands-on for building strategy but also demonstrating and showcasing how it is done
    • Responsible for analysing geographic areas to understand outlet and sales opportunity within identified areas though trade visits

    Route to Market

    • Define new and constantly optimize existing route to market distribution partner model to meet business growth targets
    • Define an innovative and profitable way for Red Bull to win market leadership within main market and independents
    • Ownership of managing business within the defined pricing and profitability guidelines and budgets

    Direct & Indirect Distribution Partner Management

    • Create and develop a model on how Red Bull can improve and win distribution through the direct distribution model, as well as through strong execution and availability across the independent wholesale channel
    • Build strong commercial relationships with the national and regional DP teams
    • Drive profitable and sustainable volume growth through distribution initiatives
    • Build winning initiatives to drive reach, sales targets, and our execution in all channels
    • Define and implement initiatives to constantly improve Red Bull’s in outlet/store visibility and performance linked to perfect outlet/store standards
    • Define and negotiate together with your team overall distributor KPIs (broken down from overall sales targets) to meet Red Bulls annual business targets: Volume Sales, Execution, Promotional Execution, Distribution of Red Bull brand portfolio and Effective Store Coverage
    • Fuelling passion for Red Bull at customer levels through defining with Trade Marketing efficient and effective recognition and reward programs
    • Undertake systematic and regular store/outlet visits to identify gaps and opportunities
    • Prepare and lead monthly & quarterly reviews with the DP’s
    • Prepare and lead the contract negotiation process

    Strategy and Planning

    • Responsible for creating a Business Plan in close co-ordination with the larger DPM teams
    • Set, track, and drive all DP Sales Districts against the annual business plan
    • Responsibility for creating and developing a strong commercial plan to grow distribution and SKU listing in the Non-Musketeer/Striker Managed account Universe via the distribution partner

    Administration

    • 60% of time in field and 40% of time spent on analysis, planning and reporting
    • Responsible for managing the stock forecast process with the DP and with support from the internal operations team
    • Responsible for the correct management of the yearly regional budget and the control of all free goods
    • Responsible for preparation of annual negotiations
    • Prepare review meetings (on a monthly/quarterly basis) via his/her team with all responsible sales districts to evaluate performance vs Joint Business Plan Objectives and agree on action plans. This is then reported to both Sales Directors and shared internally with the Musketeer team and other key stakeholders
    • Manage and secure efficient POS stock and handling as well as ROI management
    • Close alignment of pricing and promotions with all necessary key stakeholders (MD, Off Premise, On Premise and Finance) to minimise the threat of cross channel cannibalisation and to maintain profitability

    EXPERIENCE
    Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

    • University Degree (Business, Marketing or similar)
    • 6–8-years sales experience in FMCG
    • Excellent understanding of RTM environment in South Africa (ideally Off-Premise RTM)
    • Strong track record of growing product distribution in South Africa
    • Clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity, consumer behaviour
    • Strong track record of successful price increase implementation
    • Previous management / leadership role
    • Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
    • Strong analytical and financial understanding
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
    • Self-starter with initiative & attention to detail
    • Well organised & able to handle multiple priorities

    Channel Specialist

    • The Channel Specialist ( sometimes known as a digital marketing specialist in other businesses) leads programming of owned (redbull.com & red bull tv) and managed 3rd party (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) channels, along with the community management across them, and builds on the organization’s business plan by creating and implementing cross-platform programming strategies in support of the organization’s wider marketing mix. 
    •  She/he drives brand love via organic engagement with as large an audience as possible across metrics such as reach, engagements, frequency, and length of interaction, by ensuring red bull generates word of mouth with the right content on the right account/platform at the right time. Ultimately this role brings a wealth of industry knowledge across social, web and emerging digital channels, with the ability to put strategy into action by bringing stories to life, engaging audiences at scale, and bringing constant value to their peers in the organization.

    • Defines content programming priorities and creates plans together with the Media Network and Marketing teams, informed by past content performance and expert understanding of current and potential future audience behaviour.

    • Constantly sharpens strategies of Owned and Managed channels, identifies potential programming partner channels and builds consistent holistic programming and release plans across the network.

    Premium execution

    • Optimizes channel performance and experience through scheduling, featuring, customized functionalities and smooth consumer journeys.

    Team Contributor

    • Briefs specific content needs with Content team to maximize performance depending on platform and goals. Develops activation plans with the Brand and Communications departments to maximize reach of this content.

    Industry Knowledge

    • Runs Social Media and Community Management, Programs local redbull.com and Red Bull TV, and works closely with Creator Marketing (Influencer) lead.

    Entrepreneurial Spirit

    • She/he must have editing skills and can turn around content independently.

    EXPERIENCE
    Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

    • Digital Media experience with at least 3 years in digital programming of channels/platforms. 
    • Required to have experience in running social media accounts and/or programming websites.  
    • Expert in identifying where consumers live digitally, how they consume content, and how to engage them with content according to their consumption behaviour 
    • Has a constant sense of online trends and knows how to drive Word of Mouth online 
    • Strong communicator, knows how to constantly uplevel digital knowledge in the organization 
    • Clear understanding of competitor activity and consumer behaviour in both a media and FMCG business context 
    • Passion for the Red Bull brand, its content and values, and understands how to translate this into driving brand love in an online environment through media
    • Lives and breathes media on the internet

    Procurement Specialist

    • Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for supply chain management, evaluating suppliers, review cost estimates and issue purchase orders/approval, purchasing goods and services and contract negotiations/service level agreements including KPI setting, tracking and reviews. Supporting the Procurement Manager to drive cost optimization, assisting with effective management of key suppliers and risks as well as supporting an efficient sourcing process of goods and services (i.e.: Facility/Office Management, Lead of Administration, etc.) for Red Bull South Africa. Ensure all processes are in alignment with HQ Global Procurement and applicable guidelines, policies, and strategic directions. You will be working cross-functionally to understand and align business needs with internal stakeholders.

    PLANNING, STRATEGY & RISK

    • Analyze trends and market conditions for the present and future pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity of goods and services - ensuring Red Bull South Africa has the right vendors for current and future growth.
    • Risk management – evaluate supplier risk, respond with mitigation plans, identify alternative suppliers for comparative pricing.
    • Identify and qualify potential new suppliers and ensure relationships with key suppliers are transparent and actively managed. Run certain and take part in certain projects.

    SOURCE TO CONTRACT & COMPLIANCE

    • Ensure contracts with contractors and service providers are finalized and approved.
    • Ensure supplier management, local sourcing guidelines, obligations and service level agreements are correctly implemented and adhered to.
    • Issue purchase orders where applicable and required, compare to tax invoice and report any discrepancies, where required.

    BUSINESS PARTNERING & TEAM

    • Create and maintain close relationships with internal stakeholders to understand the needs of the organization.
    • Ensure key supplier relationships are managed and performance is properly monitored by the respective business partner – through the setting of KPIs, monitoring and reviewing performance cross functionally with relevant stakeholders.
    • Communicate to relevant internal stakeholders the added value and results that Procurement brings to the organization (incl. monetary and non-monetary benefits).
    • Support departments on large value and high importance procurement initiatives and tenders. Be the main point of contact and drive tenders which will run as frequently as the business requires.

    COST MANAGEMENT

    • Cost management - negotiate prices of existing suppliers where applicable to ensure cost optimization.
    • Drive and coordinate efforts to provide transparency on and insights into 3rd party spend.
    • Contribute to cross-regional initiatives to optimize group spend and knowledge.

    EXPERIENCE
    Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a strategic procurement role, ideally in the FMCG industry
    • Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Business Administration or other relevant qualification with a proven long-term experience on the job
    • Experience in project and process management
    • Solid understanding of category management and state of the art “source-to-contract” procurement processes
    • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point skills
    • SAP experience desirable
    • Good stakeholder management and relationship building skills
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and focus efforts
    • Profound analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability
    • Good knowledge of drafting and understanding contracts
