    Artisan: Building- Western Cape (12237)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

    • Provide Line Manager with the descriptions and specifications for equipment and materials required for maintenance or repair on various items
    • Carrying out minor changes such as modifications to various systems as instructed
    • Assist with maintaining the performance and appearance of building offices to specification for optimal use.
    • Instruct technical assistant as to assistance required.
    • Transport tools, equipment and materials to worksite.
    •  Assemble and dismantle scaffolding as needed.
    • Prepare tools, equipment and materials for use,
    • Oversee minor and major projects 
    • Report unsatisfactory conditions to supervisor.
    • Discuss problems encountered with supervisor and resolve them as instructed.
    • Report back to supervisor once job is completed.
    • In the absence of the supervisor, take leadership responsibility and supervise work on building to ensure that the work is carried out safely.
    • Co-ordination role in contracts 
    • Organise, plan and control operational activities 
    • Carry out quality checks
    •  Set up and control Maintenance schedules and formulate daily routines 
    • Execute maintenance according to plan & Budget
    • Fault finding repair work in line with developed repair methodology 
    • Conduct daily inspections and assessment of building structures (walls, doors, roofs floors etc)
    • Compile lists of required material and control material
    • Ensure cleanness of storerooms, workshops, parking facilities and general 
    • Produce daily, weekly and monthly maintenance activity reports

     GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE 

    •  Carry out inspections of building
    •  Ensure adherence to Building Maintenance standards.
    • Adhere to safety regulations and standard safe practices.

    • Assist management in sourcing equipment and materials required

    Compliance Specialist (12070)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    OPERATIONAL PLAN

    • To compile and implement compliance management plans.
    • To inform and educate management of regulatory compliance risks and mitigation thereof.

    FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

    • To mitigate non-compliances that may lead to fines and suspensions.
    • To identify areas that could drive costs savings

    GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE

    • To identify and advise management of relevant compliance risks.
    • To develop compliance risk management plans (CRMPs) to assist management in compliance related risks.
    • To advise business and consult on defined Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) related matters.
    • To develop and implement compliance controls in the organization.
    • To assist in the implementation of comprehensive compliance education and training programmes and information sharing structures.
    • To assist with the execution of the SABC Integrated Assurance Forum when necessary.
    • To assist Divisions in reviewing and/ or drafting of policies as per the SABC Policy Management Framework when required to do so.
    • To keep abreast of all pertinent legislation and regulatory requirements that apply to the SABC.
    • To provide continuous monitoring exercises in assessing implementation and assessment of compliance related controls
    • To provide general support towards ensuring effectiveness of Compliance Management function

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT  

    • To identify relevant regulatory requirements for the SABC.
    • To implement CRMPs as required using project management planning and implementation methodology.

    ADMINISTRATION

    • To compile and deliver quality compliance reports to management timeously.
    • To report on compliance control deficiencies that could give rise to fraudulent activities
    • To participate in formal and ad hoc committees & meetings when required to do so.
    • To adopt a proactive approach to prevent and mitigate risk from arising in the future

    STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

    • To maintain good relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
    • To strengthen and maintain better relations with other quality assurance providers within the SABC through regular interaction.

    LEADERSHIP / MANAGERIAL TASKS

    • To execute the activities of a Compliance Manager
    • To build professionalism, ethics, loyalty and commitment to the organisation
    • To communicate actively and effectively resolving any potential conflicts that may arise

    INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • National Diploma/ BCom/ LLB/ Internal Auditing or relevant qualification (NQF 6/7)

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 3-5 years’ work experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), of which 2 years in compliance environment.
    • Certificate in Compliance Management or CISA-accredited Compliance practitioner would be advantageous

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    GENERAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE

    • Assist in the general minor building maintenance
    • General Building Repairs (Spalling Repairs, Plastering and Bricklaying)
    • Painting of Passages & offices
    • Assist in the removal and installation of door locks.
    • Mounting and removing of notice boards
    • Moving Furniture Between Floors

    Artisan: Mechanical (North West ) (11624)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Carry out routine maintenance for the Refrigeration equipment as per schedule to equipment is kept in working order
    • Do housekeeping and ensure log books are kept up-to-date
    • Do installations, minor repairs and modifications to the refrigeration equipment e.g. fans, pumps, and air-conditioning plants, when necessary to ensure that the equipment works according to set standards
    • On-the-job training of staff in basic skills to ensure that the department's work is done efficiently
    • Braising and soldering of copper and various pipes to ensure there are no leaks on system
    • Do standby 24 hours a day to be available when any of the facilities break down.
    • Carry out inspections of fans, pumps installations.
    • Carry out changes and installations to various systems.
