    Grants & Compliance Intern

    Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, negotiate and facilitate signature of commercial agreements (excl. lease agreements)
    • Manage the m2m consultancy process
    • Manage the compliance of deliverable submissions and project director reports
    • Maintain lease trackers
    • Undertake procurement, including sourcing quotes from vendors and creating purchase requisitions
    • Preparations for board meetings, including preparation of agendas, board materials and
    • Management of Directors & Officers insurance
    • Coordinate and assist with ad hoc projects as requested

    Deliverables

    • Monthly milestone reports
    • Quarterly milestone & project director reports
    • Timeous review and processing of consultant & commercial agreements
    • Update and disseminate lease tracker quarterly
    • Other deliverables as assigned

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Degree in a relevant field;
    • Prior work experience in a non-government organisation (NGO) or development field;
    • Proficient in English;

    Communications Intern

    General Communications Support 

    • Digital content: assist with collecting, editing, and preparing content for social media, website, email newsletters and other digital channels. 
    • Digital analytics: researching and preparing reports on performance of digital channels, making suggestions for improvements. 
    • Knowledge management: assist with keeping m2m’s communications sharepoint up to date and well organised. 
    • Event support: assist with planning and executing physical and virtual events, working on items such as invitations, presentations, guest list research and management. 
    • Media relations: opportunity research and support for interview preparation. 
    • Research: Assist with researching and summarising key trends in areas including communications and public health, and make recommendations on including the findings into the work of the department. 
    • Administrative support: Partner with Communications Assistant to provide ongoing administrative duties to the South Africa communications team (Invoice payment/travel requests etc);

    Country Communications Support 

    • Working closely with the Regional Communications Manager, support m2m’s country communications initiatives. This will include: 
    • Liaising with colleagues based in m2m operating countries to understand their communications needs, and working with other members of the team to plan and meet them
    • Collecting and editing case studies from our frontline team and clients for internal and external use. 
    • Researching and preparing communications materials such as fact sheets, talking points, and presentations for colleagues

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • Grade 12/equivalent school leaving certificate
    •  A diploma or degree in marketing, journalism, communications or similar field is strongly preferred. We will consider applications from those without tertiary qualifications if they have exceptional and relevant experience.

    IT Intern

    Key Performance Areas:

    Helpdesk 

    • Prioritizes and manages several open service requests at one time to ensure a timely turnaround of service requests.

    Day to Day Support of Head Office 

    • Prioritizes and manages several open service requests at one time to ensure a timely turnaround of service requests.
    • Troubleshoots systems and network problems.
    • Diagnoses and solves hardware/software faults in the user environment
    • Set up electronic equipment for employee use
    • Maintains a record of activities and time spent on daily communication transactions; Installation activities, problems and remedial action taken
    • Identifies software\hardware problems and trends proactively referring to the necessary vendor when appropriate
    • Set up electronic equipment for employee use
    • Facilitates IT systems training as needed
    • Reads technical manuals of all new electronic equipment
    • Creates step by step screenshot guides about topics that users struggle with and create knowledge base articles
    • Answers users queries regarding computer software and hardware 
    • Assesses basic computer skills of m2m staff and provides on the job training where required
    • Maintain Database of all IT related equipment, i.e., purchase dates, users and laptop, etc.
    • Creates user accounts
    • Maintains user accounts\groups databases

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • IT Degree
    • Administration and record Keeping
    • English communication – verbal and written
