    Manager

    Monocle is looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a management consultant at Manager level.

    As a Manager at Monocle your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

    • Taking on a senior role on Monocle’s consulting engagements with our clients
    • Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects
    • Solving complex industry specific problems
    • Mentoring analysts and consultants, including providing career guidance and support
    • Identifying opportunities to grow with existing and new clients
    • Supporting colleagues in project delivery
    • Conducting business and data analysis
    • Designing and implementing management reports and dashboards
    • Writing, reading and analysing various computer programming languages
    • Continuously developing business knowledge and technical skills in the areas in which Monocle provides consulting services

    The successful candidate must:

    • Hold a degree, with strong preference for a post graduate qualification.
    • Have five years or more relevant experience in the financial services industry.
    • Have subject matter knowledge in banking and/or insurance.
    • Have demonstrable experience in successful project delivery or completing tasks.
    • Have a proven track record in leading large team.

    In addition, the following would be advantageous:

    • Relevant consulting experience to banks and insurers.
    • Good technical skills, including experience with tools such as SQL, SAS, Python and Business Intelligence applications.
    • A professional qualification in finance and risk management, such as CFA and/or FRM.

    Data Engineer

    As a Data Engineer at Monocle your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

    • Solving complex industry specific problems.
    • Performing data analysis and data mining on large datasets.
    • Designing and building technical frameworks to extract/transform/load data from various sources utilising applications such as SQL or ‘big data’ technologies (as required by client).
    • Facilitating solutions/applications throughout the different project lifecycles, from design to development, testing, production release and the provision of post live support.
    • Advising clients on data architecture and database design.
    • Providing support to data and business analysts to ensure the most optimised technical process is implemented, be it through architecture design, application utilised or code logic applied.
    • Engaging with senior stakeholders and clients.
    • Continuously developing business knowledge and technical skills in the areas in which Monocle provides consulting services

    The successful candidate must:

    • Hold a relevant Information Science or Data degree with strong preference for a post graduate qualification.
    • Have two years or more of relevant experience.
    • Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in SQL (creation of procs, creation of databases etc).
    • Have experience with other power platform applications such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power Bi.
    • Have experience processing large amounts of structured or unstructured data, including integrating data from multiple sources through setting up different API’s or other data integration patterns.
    • Have knowledge of other scripting languages such as Java, C++, Linux, Ruby, PHP, Python, and R.
    • Have knowledge and experience with cloud solutions such as Azure or AWS as they pertain to architecture, solution design, development and implementation.

    Business Development Consultant

    As a Business Development Consultant at Monocle your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

    • Working with the business development team, research staff, and Executives to increase sales opportunities within our targeted industries.
    • Prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising and/or other means of generating interest from potential clients.
    • Attend conferences and other networking events to meet up with new clients and develop leads.
    • Developed a detailed, validated potential client contact list for business development activities.
    • Set up meetings between client decision makers and Senior Executives.
    • Support the team to build a robust pipeline of clients and potential opportunities.
    • Drive targeted business development campaigns.
    • Research and building relationships with new clients.

    The successful candidate must:

    • Hold a degree in Finance, Marketing and/or other relevant business qualification.
